I wait outside the hospital room for my wife to finish giving birth hoping they both survive. They warned her there an abysmal chance of her survival, but the baby was almost guaranteed to survive. The weird part is the ears and tail. We hired a nanny just in case, but I still hope she'll be fine.
The doctor comes out, and I'm giving them a death stare as they come out. He shakes his head. "The baby survived, but the mother didn't make it."
I just stare at him before he ask. "Would you like to see her?" I give confirmation before he brings her out swaddled, and puts her in my arms.
She has a white fuzz of hair on her head, and a little black fuzz on the tip of her ears. I just stare at her. Slowly rocking her. I notice a tear fall on her blanket.
The doctor ask me if I would like to name her.
"You mother died, but you live. Omisha. Her name will be Omisha."
...
I head home and hand Omisha off to the nanny before heading to my office. On my desk I find a book Titled "How to raise a kitsune" with a note saying "No not the mythological spirit". I'll have to check the cameras later and see who put that there.
I decide to read through it only to see it mention Omisha's name multiple times, her hair is white with black fuzz at the tips, Her eyes are Yin Yang symbols, and condolences for my wife dying. "I just left from the hospital 10 minutes before getting home."
If you spot this tale on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.
I go check the cameras only to see that the book suddenly appeared on my desk as if teleported. "How"
It's been a long day so I go to bed hoping I'll wake up next to Shiro in the morning.

After the torturous process of giving birth. I'm holding my daughter as she feeds. The only issue is her hair is white and black fuzz, and she has ears and a tail.
"Ears and tail with glowing blue eyes. I expected more issues, but I'm happily wrong in this case" My husband walks in while saying so.
One of the doctors that were helping me chimes in. "Never expected someone who got blasted with radiation would turn out with no issues. From the test it seems the ears are fully functional, so she should have even better hearing than usual. Not to mention the ears and tail look cute." He lets out a chuckle at the end.
One of the nurses ask if we would like to have more extensive test done to see if there are any issues we can't see. We agree.
I reluctantly hand her off after she's done eating so they can finish their test.
They come back saying the genetics test says she has no DNA. I chime in "What do you mean she has no DNA? That's not possible."
He comes in scratching his head while handing us a picture. It's a bunch of cells connecting, but there is nothing inside. "We did the DNA test cause that's the main issue caused by radiation, but nothing came out. We then decided to just look at the cells only to find them to be empty. We have no idea how she's alive." I'm handed back my daughter as the doctors are scratching their heads.
"We tried other machines incase that one was broken, but they all came out the same. She's completely fine anyway."
"Since she seems fine anyway lets let her sleep. For now what would you like to name her?" MY husband speaks up.
Something light related. Her shining eyes look at mine. Her cat like pupils follow my finger as I move it around. The weird star shaped symbol in the center of her collar bone. "Etolie"
Note: I'll finish the rest later
