CHAPTER 5
KILL, DIE, REPEAT
“You are fucked, you green shits,” Jayden spoke as he was declaring a death sentence to the three goblins shivering in fear. However, they were miles apart from running out of their luck. An arrow flew, shoosh, and penetrated Jayden’s head.
You died! Restarting the tutorial.
“Fuck !!” he cursed as he opened his eyes again. To confirm the PermaDeath skill's work, he repeated his previous strategy, sneaking past the three goblins to the place where the big one was supposed to wait for him, and as he hoped, there was no one. “Sweet, '' he whispered. “Now where were we? Yes, an archer aimed at me from the very back.” He looked at the dark crevice and when a glare of arrow tip met his eyes. He confirmed a goblin hiding there. “You are dead, you little shit,” he said, rolling himself in the damp mud, covering himself in it, he approached the crevice. His every step was full of caution, he sneaked on the archer goblin. It was not like a walk in the park, but his experience living on the floor twenty sure made it easier for him to accomplish his task.
But Sneaking up was easy, however, killing it in one blow was a daunting task in a level one body, "I have to finish this in one go," he poured all his strength into his one hand and grabbed the goblin’s neck from behind, "So, how do you feel getting sneaked on?" he mocked, choking him until the goblin started foaming, and bashed him onto a wall, alerting the three sitting by the fire, roasting something. "I only needed stealth till this point, get your asses in line," he shouted at the camping goblins. But they were quite far from his place, and he had all the time to permanently finish his target. He called, looking down at the half-dead Goblin archer, "Skill: PermaDeath."
Skill Permadeath is in use.
The last strike trait will apply to the target. Bestowing the abyssal power to your weapon. On a successful hit, a vengeful wraith from the abyss will be summoned to collect the soul of the harvest.
Damage: 300% of base damage
Cooldown: 6 Hours
Mana: NA
The black smokey liquid came from the dagger like the last time. He tried shaking it off but it kept coming out of nowhere and when he landed a punch to the wobbling goblin, the horrifying scene repeated itself. However, there was a small difference, the reaper wraith was not shrieking this time, it just silently swing the huge scythe and delivered the finishing blow, startling Jayden. He kept glancing at the wraith as it also was looking back at him with its empty eyes. The trance was broken as one of the camping goblins slit his neck from the sides.
You died! Restarting the tutorial.
“Aah, focus, you dumbass,” He said slapping himself, opening his eyes to the familiar ceiling. Since Permadeath was working without cooldown, He decided to clear the tutorial by not following the norm but killing every one of the Goblins present there. He killed and got killed, the cycle repeated several times, and not knowing how much time had passed, he was finally down to one Goblin, limping in front of him. "Pluck," his sword pierced the crawling goblin's neck, and with this, he had killed every last one with the permaDeath skill.
He had used almost every weapon he could carry to get to this stage. He was facing the Boss of the tutorial, not meant to be killed, if he wanted, he could have just walked out of the first floor since the exit was way far from this hidden room. "Since I can't die here. Why shouldn't I try killing this one too." or so he thought. “Seventeen, fucking seventeen times, you’ve killed me you fucker. Do you think I’ll fall for your pattern again,” he shouted facing the goblin boss once more.
Taking a long breath, “A horizontal slash”, he said as the Goblin did what he predicted, “ a diagonal slash from left to right down”, jumping, he dodged that too. “A quick Jab,” turning he avoided, “followed by a heavy vertical slash”. He rolled towards him, looking at the gasping Goblin he slit his remaining ankle from the back with a dagger. The Goblin finally knelt, and this was the time he was waiting for. He climbed on his huge body and took a metal string that he tied to his waist, and with a quick movement, he coiled that into the goblin Boss’s neck and called.
Skill: PermaDeath
Skill PermaDeath is not activated. The target is not ready for the last strike. Increase the damage to the appropriate level before calling the skill.
"I'm fucked," The Goblin recovered from his stumbling and grabbing the above-sitting Jayden, he bashed him to the ground, turning Jayden into a pool of blood.
You died! Restarting the tutorial.
“Son of a bitch, how am I supposed to put that monster into critical condition, even in the past, I would have needed help,” he said aloud, almost whining like a child. There were only two of them in the huge underground maze. Everyone was dead due to PermaDeath, so he thought this was an omnipotent skill, but he understood that this skill will only activate if the target is severely wounded. Sighing he said, “One more, just one more time then, I’ll give up.”
He lay there looking at the ceiling, and suddenly a fact hit him, “Why I'm not hungry, well whatever.” Turning towards the weapons, he glanced at every one of them. There was nothing he hadn’t used in those seventeen attempts, but the Goblin boss stood tall like an impossible wall to climb.“One more time,” He said to himself looking at the mud wall of the Boss room. “Wait a minute. It won’t be that right?”. Picking up the battle axe he bought, he started striking the hinges of the mud door. “As Expected, there was a way,” he said, rejoicing on looking at the breaking hinges, and after destroying the one completely he declared.

Skill: PermaDeath
“Please activate please, activate, ple… fuck yeah!” he shouted in exhilaration as the activating message popped in front.
Skill Permadeath is in use.

He lunged ahead, "Just a single hit..." and punched the door with his darkened hand. The wraith appeared, confused, it struck the boss room door open. "Well, it is probably confused too, the doors are not alive, after all." After the dust settled, Jayden could clearly see the goblin boss resting on his back by a huge pillar. He smiled and launched a spear toward the Goblin boss and it hit the bullseye and impaled the boss’s stomach.
Groaning, the boss shouted in fury and lunged towards the door, only to be blocked by the invisible wall stopping him from exiting.” So you wanna come out, oh poor bastard” Jayden smiled, mocking the Goblin boss. Jayden took no time and started launching every projectile he could find, even stones and rocks were not spared. The Goblin boss was a mighty foe, but however big and dangerous it was, it was still a sitting duck.
As the cheating battle continued, Jayden chipped its life little by little, and finally after many failed
attempts of activating PermaDeath. The skill lastly got activated.
Skill: PermaDeath
Skill Permadeath is in use.
...
But like the boss had sensed the danger, it evaded Jayden for the first time. "It's not over," Jayden shouted and kept charging at him. And, not experienced in running for his life the goblin boss stumbled, giving Jayden the opportunity he needed to land a strike. The reaper wraith came out and he fell on the floor, looking at the ceiling as the wraith disappeared after finishing the job. "Well, the result matters not the process." He laughed like a madman knowing there was no one but he remained on the first floor, continuing his laughter, he said, “I'm really a persistent bitch, aren’t I.”
After a while, when his sanity took back control of his body he stood up tidying his dirty clothes, and went towards the exit, humming as he was feeling quite well after killing a foe of that level when he just practically learned to toddle.
Quest: Outsmarting the greens. (CLEARED)
Escape from the Goblin nest and finishes the first-floor tutorial. You’ll respawn as you die at the starting location.
Clear Rank: LEGENDARY
Rewards: 1000 XP + 10,000 G (BONUS)
“That’s it,” Jayden said in disbelief, continuing his rant he shouted, “I killed all of them, you suckers, give me some more. its LEGENDARY clear rank ---”
“Tsk, tsk.” Someone clicked his tongue, “What an abhorrent bastard we have this time” the voice continued. Frantically, Jayden turned hearing the unfamiliar voice, “Who the fuck are you.” he asked back. but the voice replied as the speaker made his presence known, “And they say, Earth has eloquent people, where do you come from, you poor sod” the midget, dressed in green asked, pointing his small fingers at Jayden. But Jayden remained baffled because he knew what this midget was, his elder sister had read him stories in his childhood, and from those stories, a Leprechaun, master of wealth stood before him in the flesh.
He kept looking at the leprechaun like he was seeing a wonder of the world, but Leprechaun took it as the man getting startled by his race or appearance. “Let's keep it civil, Shall we? For starters, I’m Smeagul Goldman, a Leprechaun and your handler.”
“I’m Jayden.”
“That’s it, didn't your mother teach you how to introduce yourself?”
“I thought we were keeping it civil, weren’t we?”
Tapping his own mouth lightly, Smeagul the leprechaun replied, “Oh my, we have a quick thinker.” he provoked but Jayden remained silent, there was a popular saying in his hometown, talking with a Leprechaun is inviting bad luck, especially for your pockets. So he wanted to talk to him as little as he could. But Smeagul had something else in mind, “You killed everyone on the first floor, Mr super Rookie, you already got a vast amount of XP from killing the goblins, what more do you want?”
Jayden kept looking at the Leprechaun, still confused because he believed as his handler, this Midget would have seen everything but it turned out not to be true. Testing him once more, Jayden asked, “I’ve killed the boss with these hands, in a single try. Can’t it give me some bonus reward for it.”
“You are not the only one to do that, you bas…Mr. Jayden, you are the thirteenth to be exact, and you took the most time in the tower's history to clear the first floor, which is 21 days and 16 hours. What were you doing there, fucking goblins?” Smeagul rebuked.
"Haa..." sighing, Jayden understood one thing clearly, this bastard of a Leprechaun can’t talk civilly, and the second one was, this handler, at least this one does not have the authority to look at what happened inside the floor.“Then who took the least time ?” he asked politely and the Leprechaun replied with a smirk, “Every question costs 1000G, do you wanna spend it?”
“What? Don’t be stingy, tell me ---”
“Would you look at this bastard…like a gentleman, trying to get something out of a Leprechaun for free?”
Jayden thought a little and asked, “Would you answer everything I ask?”
“As long as it's in my boundary of knowledge, that is the rule.”
“Then my first question is, what is the most effective way for me to use this Gold.”
You’ve spent 1000 G on asking Handler a question,
Available Balance: 9000G
“Pft…” the leprechaun laughed, rolling on his back, and said, “You got scammed on the first question you fool.” “What?” Jayden asked back, confused about what this Leprechaun was spouting, and the midget replied, “The Best way to use Gold is to get answers from Lapricons,” Smeagul said, continuing with a grin, “I’ve said, giving answers is the rule but if you ask questions with that many loopholes, you’ll get scammed in the tower, like this, you fool.”
The tower judged the Handler's answer as satisfactory, completing the transaction.
"Oh, I'm just getting started," Jayden said taking a deep breath, and a smirk stretched all over his face.
