Oh boy.
We went on hiatus. That went a lot faster than I expected, I truly meant to let you all know what is going on, but I'm awkward and never found a good way.
The goods news is that I've been so busy writing, otherwise I would have taken the time to figure out a better way. The bad news is that I haven't been writing Rise of the Business [Class].
I always hated when authors did this. Like, this is the story I'm reading and care about, why would I care about some other project you are starting if you couldn't finish this one?
The truth is that too much has been going on in my life. I've been living an extremely unhealthy lifestyle, and beginning to write was my way out of it. But there were still a lot of neglected parts that needed handling, and that's what I've been focusing on. Believe it or not, at a certain point I was on the very verge of homelessness, and despite getting help I was on the way back there again before I started writing.
Now that I am finding an outlet for my efforts, and the motivation to take part in real life again, a lot of things like a regular job and stuff has been taking time away from writing. Whenever I have started again I've gotten the feeling that so much momentum is lost, and my story is so ambitious and so large, with so many moving parts that all need to fit - that without treating it like a fulltime job I will never be able to do it justice without dropping chapters at a snail's pace.
When I began writing this idea it was after having just reread all of The Wandering Inn and Beware of Chicken, and I wanted to write something light-hearted with the bones of ambition but while also taking the time for slice of life and a meandering path discovering the entire world I was hoping the readers would grow to love.
Since then I have been reading Defiance of the Fall, Primal Hunter, Road to Mastery etc. And these stories are in a similar LitRPG vein, but they have a simpler track and still manage to tell amazing stories that can be focused on a single character while still taking place in a wide world with a vibrant cast.
If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.
For now, as a literal minimum wage worker, I can't do this story justice with the time I have left over while still getting my life back on track.
So the new story I am writing will not be quite as ambitious, but it will still very much be me writing. I will be better prepared this time, having learned from every lesson that came my way during the 1000 pages that this story has ended up becoming so far.
I am for sure leaving the door open for coming back here and finishing when I have the room to do this sprawling world justice, but I still want it to be a level of writing that doesn't betray how it all started out and where I planned for it all to go.
I really hope you have found others things to read while I was starving you of updates, but I also hope you will be giving my new story a shot when it starts dropping. Just like last time I am planning to drop the first 50 chapters in quick succession, to garner interest and make sure the people taking the time have a decent chunk of story to show where everything's headed - but once I've completed the publishing of the backlog I will be doing a mere 2 updates a week - while trying to keep 50 chapters for sale on Patreon - hopefully at least leading to some side income if not a full time writing gig.
I know, keep dreaming, but that's just part of the fun for me - the possibility! It keeps me working hard, when nothing else will.
Cheers for reading and giving my story a shot - hope the LitRPG gods give you a blessed year of reading coming up.

And Cheers for reading.
