Rise of a Demon Among Humans
Prologue - Successor

Prologue - Successor

"You bastards..." a big man covered in red looked at the surrounding people with hatred in his scarlet red eyes.

The man was covered in cuts and holes, but the weirdest part was that the holes and cuts were slowly healing. The surrounding people, despite outnumbering the man 100 to 1, looked nervous and anxious about who was going to finish the man.

The man might have seemed incredibly injured but the aura flowing from his body was still incredibly sinister and dense, so they knew he still had a few attacks left in him and because they knew his strength, they really didn't want to the ones the to take those attacks.

The main deterrence would be the fact that the man was standing on a massive bloodied mountain of corpses, the blood of these corpses flowed down the mountain and gathered into small rivers.

The scene was truly shocking and looked like something you'd see in the deepest pits of Hell.

"Hm? We're the bastards, you killed someone in the Long Family, so you must pay, Han Shuo," a dignified lady in a spotless white robe appeared before the mountain of corpses. Of course, she wasn't standing in the blood but was instead mysteriously floating above the ground a few feet.

The man, hearing what the woman said, couldn't stop himself from laughing furiously despite his injuries, "So what if I killed one of you from the Long Family?!" the man's red eyes sharpened at this moment and he charged at the woman, "You killed my wife and child, and you expect me to not do anything about it?! I should've killed all of you instead of just killing that stupid girl!"

The man's speed was incredibly fast and he appeared in front of the woman. His size must have been about 2.5m tall and his body which was full of muscle made him look much bigger than the lady he was attacking.

Despite the utterly imposing aura he was producing, the lady simply smirked as she looked at the man.

His grey skin was covered in red lines and curves but their luster had faded so she knew that despite his aura, he was very injured and much weaker than normal, so she could handle him.

"It's time for you to die, Demon," the lady pulled out a slightly translucent sword which glowed with a golden light, "May your soul be sent to a night of eternal sleep," with that, the woman sent a normal looking slash at the man.

The man, while full-well knowing the danger of that slash, carried on charging at the woman while red energy poured out of his pores and covered him in a cloud of blood mist.

The mist coalesced behind the man in the form of a massive red demon with horns and wings. The eyes of the demon gleamed with a mysterious yellow light and its toothy maw was spread in a weird smile.

The smile was angry and hateful but also happy and free.

Soon after the mist creature made this smile, it shot off in a massive bang of light.

The woman and surrounding people who saw this, all paled and the woman sent a mental message to her subordinates to follow the mist but as she was about to go herself, she heard something shocking, "WHERE DO YOU THINK YOU'RE GOING, LITTLE LADY?!" the woman looked back to the man with a shocked expression.

"Why didn't you go with your soul?!" the woman seemed flustered as she quickly carried on with her previous swing.

The man smiled and simply charged into the sword, not bothering to defend nor attack. The sword didn't cause any physical harm but instead cut straight into what seemed like a semi-circular object.

The object was half of the man's soul, the other half was sent off in that earlier mist creature.

The man spat out some blood before looking into the woman's eyes, "I sent off all my techniques and my cultivation method in that part of my soul, so I could go with it," he paused for a second, gritting his teeth; he had to say this last part, "I sent my soul off with one goal; find a Successor! Hahaha! Good luck ridding the world of my newest disciple!"

The woman's eyes instantly widened and she quickly sent a mental order to every subordinate under her control - Stop that Mist!

But it was useless, the mist had gone invisible to the world once it left the weird area they had trapped the man in. Right now, it was traveling to a specific place. That place was a small apartment room in a complex and inside, a young man was doing some basic calisthenics.

The mist didn't care for what he was doing as it saw his unique constitution which made him the perfect candidate for being the Successor, and the mist instantly entered the young man's head, causing him to jump in shock.

"What the hell..." after that, the teen simply fell to the ground unharmed and looking like he was simply sleeping.

But on the inside of his soul, information was slowly being pumped into it. Only a little bit of it would be seen by the young man at his current strength but it was enough to know he was the successor for the Great Demon Han Shuo.

The young man's life just got a lot more complicated.
