Emilia went to the the market in search of a merchant that which she had done business with before. He had sent her a letter saying that he had found an interesting ring that she might want to take a look at. Which made her extremely excited for this day. When she arrived at the market it took her nearly an hour to find Lionel the merchant. 

"Lionel, so I heard you gotta ring?" Questioned Emilia brimming with anticipation and nervousness. 

Lionel turned quickly around scanning for the person who had said his name. He eyes settled on the familiar face of Emilia. "Oh, it's you." Lionel said sighing with relief. "Yeah, I have the ring right over here." Said Lionel gesturing for Emilia to come over with him to the alley by his stall where he kept his wagon. 

They walked over to the wagon. When they arrived Lionel hopped into the wagon. He dragged a wooden chest out of the wagon. He grabbed a key from a inside pocket of cloak. He unlocked the chest and scooped out a ring. Lionel handed it to Emilia.

The ring emanated such a heavy magical presence it was almost suffocating. It was made of some kind white metal that Emilia had never seen before. When she touched it her hands felt numb and she could feel the depth of its magical power.

"H-how much is it?" Asked Emilia. Her voice like her body was shaking. She had only brought eighteen gold coins with her and she hoped it would be enough.

"Forty gold coins should be enough." Lionel said. From his dark in appearance emerged a smile. He was quite happy at the prospect of having that much more money.

"Thirty!" Emilia replied full of giddy.

"I guess." Said Lionel the smile fading from his lips. 

Emilia's hand dropped down to her dagger in her back pocket. In a second her hand shot up shoving a dagger through his throat at the same time casting the spell sound manipulation: silence with her other hand. She quickly pocketed the ring which she now felt strangely connected to. 

She rummaged through the chest grabbing a dagger, a a scroll, and a short sword. She was about to leave when she realized that she had not searched Lionel body. She grabbed his coin purse and a dagger. She practically ran out of there, she was trying to get back to the academy as quickly as possible. 

She knew what the ring was it was the ring of control it allowed you to take control of someones body. She wasn't surprised thet Lionel didn't know that it was a ring power because few are trained to be able to detect one. She was lucky enough to be trained to detect one.

When she had gotten to the academy she went straight to Percy's dorm room. She went straight in leaving the door open behind her. "Percy, I found a ring!" Emilia said staring at Percy.

"What?" Percy said turning his head to look at what she was mentioning. 

She pulled out the ring but before she could get anyfarther somebody passing by saw the ring and went on the attack. He pulled his sword out and charged Emilia from behind. 

"Watch out!" Percy shouted whilst leaping off his bed. Emilia ran behind him handing him the short sword and one of the daggers. The attacker wasnt as skilled as Percy but he had the advantage of attacking and forced Percy to defend.

Percy parried all of the assailant blows successfully keeping him away from Emilia. The desperate assailant thruster his blade at him during the attack he kicked Percy in the chest knocking him down. "Emilia." He barely coughed out.

Emilia activated the ring taking over the assailant mind for just a moment but during this short period of time Percy sliced the assailant throat off.
