Awakening of a Peerless Genius

Awakening of a Peerless Genius

In a dead forest in the middle of a night were two people. One seemed to be a distinguished lady only 20 years old, while the other seemed to be a beggar boy.

The lady had a refined body and her skin seemed like jade, while her long black hair reached her waist. If her family decided to hold a groom search for her, there would be men from across the continent running amok to get her hand in marriage. She wore a long white robe with golden embroidery. In front of her, the young boy who didn't seem older than 8 years old was sitting with his back against the tree.

The boys sapphire blue eyes were dim, as if there wasn't practically any life left in him. His blonde hair was covered in dirt and his clothes were extremely ragged. The holes in his clothes covered a larger area than the cloth and from the holes, the young lady could see many scars and half healed wounds.

The lady crouched down to the same eye level and sized up the boy. She knew that the boy was still alive but for how long, that was uncertain. Seemingly making up her mind, she started to grab the boys arm, so she could bring him somewhere. Just as she tried to grab his right hand, gray mist started rolling around him.

The lady was instantly alert and jumped back about 10 meters. From the mist, she saw over a hundred pairs of red eyes staring back at her and she involuntarily shivered. Before she could even think of something, an old voice echoed out form the mist, “For what reason do you wish to touch our young master?”

Hearing the voice, the lady was startled and her eyes went as big as carriage wheels, when she saw the mist slowly dissipating and an army of different types of monsters standing in a defensive formation around the little boy.

While her expression showed shock only, one thought ran through her head, “Could all of these monsters be his Guardians?”
