"Respawning… No safe respawn points available. Teleporting to the closest starter city … Teleporting to Palming City… Respawn point set to Palming City Square…"
"Respawning…"
"You have respawned at Palming City Square. Please venture out in regions suitable for your level to prevent deaths."
Mark had spawned in the middle of a city filled with creatures that were half humanoid. It looked like Palming was a beast territory and Mark, having a complete human appearance, was receiving too much stares.
He quickly opened the inventory, which was inaccessible due to his captive status, to find a "Starter Pack" and a "Novice Blacksmith Pack". Tapping on it he received a complete set of gentlemen's town costume, which only functioned to cover his skin as well as a territory map, that showed the four villages and a couple of dungeons and poi around the city.
The blacksmith pack contained a hammer, a portable anvil which weighed nothing and a set of blacksmithing gloves, Work Boots and a leather apron which would most definitely burn with the slightest contact with fire. Finally settled in, Mark opened his interface to check himself out.

Once Mark closed his interface and looked around and decided to move closer to the building right next to him, he was suddenly stopped by a new mission notification popping up.
"Personalized Main Quest."
"Introduction: Who am I?"
"Enter the training hall and interact with the combat trainer, magic scholar and workers union representative to get to know yourself and your surroundings."
On his Minimap was a small arrow that pointed Mark towards a larger clearing, which was the city training yard. Mark arrived at the training yard immediately looking for the trainers, but sadly he was stopped from entering the barracks as his class did not qualify. According to the law, only those who had a combat class were allowed to enter the barracks and if others needed to enter, then they had to prove their strength in the combat ring which Mark had no intention of challenging. He immediately left looking for the production hall, which was that far off. He was able to gain entry instantly thanks to his class but sadly his class blacksmith wasn't as much coveted. Although the union rep wasn't rude there was no interest in his eyes for a novice blacksmith. Instead they showed him to his new station, where he could try and improve his skill, eventually bringing more value to the city.
The Smithy was crude with most of the tools worn out. Mark took out the hammer from his inventory to check it. A simple hammer that added 1 attack point if equipped as a weapon and gave 10% to crafting proficiency if used as a tool. There were a few bars, iron ingots, that were available for him to use but if one needed more, then they would have to purchase it off the market.
Mark took out one ingot and decided to try his luck.

'Assisted crafting? Does it mean I can craft things manually as well?' Mark had an inspiration but quickly lost it considering the hard work involved. Instead he clicked on the sword and decided to try out his luck.
"Auto crafting: Sword, required time: 30s."
The waiting was a bit longer than expected but eventually a crude looking sword appeared on the anvil.
"Successfully crafted 1 Sword(junk). Experience awarded."
Sword (junk)
A sword crafted by an unqualified smith. Extremely brittle and can break on impact.
Quality: Crude
Rarity: Junk
Durability: 20
Melee damage bonus range: 1%
"The quality of the item is too low. Would you like to dismantle the item?"
'At least that's convenient.' "Yes, dismantle it for me." Mark confined to craft sword and eventually he gained enough to raise his level back to 0.
"Level Up."
"Strength +2, vitality+1."
"+1% to bonus rarity, +1% to bonus proficiency."
Let's try one last time.' Mark took the hammer once more to try and gain something good. The results weren't as worthless as before.
Sword (common)
A sword crafted by an unqualified smith. Slightly brittle and can survive a few swings.
Quality: Crude
Rarity: Common
Durability: 80
Melee damage bonus range: 4%
The sword was slightly better than the previous ones and now it can be used. This was a huge plus for Marks until he looked at the system shop and saw that the lowest quality sword they sold had 5% bonus attack and over 500 durability.
To retain his sanity, Mark decided to level the Smithy at another time and took the sword to find some low level mobs to grind. Since he had a self crafted weapon it was now possible to use it during combat.
Outside Palming City's safe walls, there wasn't a lot of mobs, that a low level player could try their skills on. The city guards ensured that the neighbourhood was always secure for the safety of merchants and the city folks which meant that Mark had to venture further in to find his prey.
A level 1 mud frog.
Don't let it's look fool you, it's soft insides with the mud skin making it exceptionally safer for a beginner. It is said that teenage trainee warriors have to penetrate the mud skin to become qualified to join the wall watching squad of Palming City.
Mark slowly approached the mud skin frog from behind.
"You have died. Your level has dropped. You dropped an item: Sword (common). You will spawn at the closest safe town."
