Blood... he needed blood.
A tall young man, hiding in tree shadows, watched a small two-story house on the other side of the road.
The house he chose for the attack belonged to a small family of Ser di Minno, and the attacker had reasons why he decided to choose them. It so happened that by the time he needed blood, the family members of Ser di Minno interfered with his plans, so by killing them, the man not only was receiving the blood he needs for survival, but he was also removing them from his path.
The young man was not a vampire, but he depended on human blood so that his energies and superpowers would not weaken with time. His last victim was a maid at the hotel he was staying at, a couple of months ago. Unfortunately her blood was not enough to last the required amount of time he was counting on. Over the past few days, his energies had been weakening, and the young man realized that if he continued in the same spirit, the truth about him, who he really was, could be revealed, and God knows what people would do to him.
No, he couldn't let that happen, not now, when he came to this miserable human world with a certain task in mind.
Blood... he needed blood urgently.
The lights went out in the house. The young man looked around. Despite the fact that there was no one else on the street, it was necessary to make sure that he was definitely alone.
Sighing heavily, the young man tilted his head to the side and spread his arms wide, feeling the bones of his spine snap as his skin began to heat up, changing the shade from pale to milk chocolate. The various drawings and images on his body flashed with a bright light that was visible through his clothes. The colour of his eyes changed from dark brown to gold, shining in the dark. The nails turned into sword-sharp claws.

Gradually, the young man began to merge with the darkness of the night, and only his glowing eyes were visible.
Grinning, he walked away from the trees, looked around for the last time, ran up and jumped, landing on the roof of the house without making any noise. Flashing his eyes and breathing heavily, the young man crawled across the roof to the nearest window, which, to his great surprise, was open.
Silently, the young man (or rather, by this moment, some strange creature) quietly jumped off the windowsill to the floor, finding himself in a small room similar to a nursery. There were two beds not far from the window, and the creature slowly, sticking to the wall, crept up to them. His heart trembled when he saw two twin girls, who were about six years old, sleeping soundly.
Blood... blood...
The creak of the door made him come to his senses and quickly dash back to the window, hiding behind the curtains, when a dark-haired girl entered the room. The creature could not see the face of the newcomer, as her thick, loose hair covered it. Going to the beds and putting a candle on the table next to her, she adjusted the blankets with pillows.
Stepping out from behind the curtains, the creature began to slowly and silently creep up to the girl, who was standing with her back to him and did not suspect anything.
Blood... blood...
Halfway, just a little more.
A strong wind rose outside, its gust rushed into the room through the open window. Startled, the girl began to turn to him, intending to approach and close it. Growling, the creature with the speed of a light crossed the remaining distance between him and the girl, grabbed her by the neck and pressing her against the wall.
Blood... blood...
Ignoring the victim's resistance, the creature howled, digging its claws into her skin, feeling hot blood begin to flow down his arms. The girl's eyes filled with horror, before the life left her body, she stopped resisting.
Blood! Blood!
Hurried footsteps were heard in the distance of the corridor, and before the creature had time to recover, a man ran into the room with a gun in his hands. However, before he could do anything, the creature, using the power of thought, snatched the weapon from his hands and, finding himself next to him, cut the man's throat with its claws, and then slowly turned around to the beds.
The noise had woken up the girls, and they were now staring at the monster in horror. At some point, he felt sorry for them and wanted to spare those children, but the voice in his head was louder than anything else. Before the girls had time to come to their senses and scream, the creature, smiling wildly and baring its sharp teeth, pounced on them.
