"What is this ugly thing?"
Dio glanced at the insect, for an instant the thought of crushing the bug crossed through his head.
Yet, he restrained such thoughts.
After all this was his only light into this vacuum.
Besides, his intuition told him that it would be a terrible idea to do so.
Dio was someone who always put an emphasis on his emotions, at difference from others who considered them a weakness, he considered them his strength.
Greed, envy, anger, those all useful drives for his ambitions!
With those same feelings he glanced at the disgusting bug in front of him.
"I wonder, why I have this feeling that you'll be useful to me later on.
...
But are those feelings real?
There all sort kinds of parasites or an Stand which affect the brain and give its host an strange feeling of familiarity, hell, even I can do the same with a Flesh Bud."
He lifted his brows and sighed.
"But, is that truly important?
Whether that is a threat or not, I'm currently without options, perhaps I'll need the power of this bug to escape from this void."
Suddenly he had a realization.
"Wait, why I can speak and breathe if I'm on a vacuum?"
...
As if the world itself had reacted to his thoughts, suddenly a purple sandstorm appeared, filling every corner of the world.
Each peck of dust shone majestically, like a star in the skies.
Before Dio realized his vision had been surrounded by those 'stars.'
"Crck." "Crck."
There was a change in reality.
Those pecks of dusts began to explode one after the other, releasing multiple dark-purple clouds at all directions.
From below Dio, the 'clouds' turned form-like and from above they became thinner and thinner, up to the point were they become as light as the air.
In the middle, just a few meters above him there were many strange shaped-clouds which looked like cotton, Dio tried to touch them and realized that they were always just above his 'grasp.'
When he moved, so did the clouds, it was as if the reality itself was bending to him!
"Wait, something that affects equally everything on the world, no matter its weight or strength can't be a force, rather...
It must be like gravity, a 'law.'"
Dio thought.
He was rather knowledgeable of paranormal fields.
The sounds of 'clapping' resonated through the whole plane, followed by a laughter.
The whole world began to spin and change, rotate and move on all sorts of patterns.
Thousands of clouds collided against each other, forming denser and denser heaps that turned darker by the instant.
With each collision the vague figure of a dark head was slowly carved.
That figure looked human-like, however was also dark as charcoal from where tiny black flames constantly surged.
They surged through his eyes, through his mouth, through his black hair, everywhere.
His eyes looked like the static noise of a television.
The only 'stable' part of its body, were the iris, which looked like two thin purple rings which seemed to forcefully restrain the quasi-infinite power from his eyes.
This head looked at Dio and plainly asked.
"So, you, visitor from another world.
Why have you come here?"
Both, Dio and the head looked at each other for a brief moment, before the head frowned and said.
"Why I am even asking?
I'll simply look directly."
The head opened his mouth, then he shoot a powerful purple ray towards Dio.
This dense ray, revealed his bone, his muscle tissue, and even each individual vein of his body.
It even revealed for a brief instant the contents of his Stand(soul), and his brain.
After five seconds, the ray vanished abruptly.
The head chuckled and said.
"I see, you had quite the journey to arrive here, didn't you, Dio?"
Dio's eyelids twitched, after recovering his composure Dio frowned and asked sarcastically.
"Hah, I see, you have some sort of special power to look through my memories, or at least one to know my name.
I wonder, is that an Stand or another magical arcane power exclusive to your world?
But most importantly, is the mystical power you have enough to defeat an 'Time Stop' ability or the power to discern and create the Truth!"
The head looked at Dio fixedly and 'asked.'
"That is the wrong question, the right question is, do you still have such powers?
Last time I checked, your Heavenly body has already regressed, you have returned to the state you were when Jotaro Joestar pierced your stomach.
Your 'Stand power' is useless now, as your Stand is crippled if you're dumb enough to use it still you'll die without an intact corpse.
The power you posses currently is merely the one of a Vampire, an old aged Vampire who hasn't practiced in a century, that against my countless Gu's and lingering will, I wonder who of us is stronger."
Dio gulped.
"What?"
He closed his eyes and inspected his Stand and as he said, it was still crippled.
Realizing this truth made Dio's will waver, whilst his wariness and panic grew.
Still, under the panic he was able to recall.
"Gu's, those poisonous insects from China?
Is that the power source of this world?
...
The insect I hold, is a Gu?
Does it hold the power to crush the opponent before me?"
He sighed inwardly, he had no way to know how to use this power, thus he smiled warmly at the head and asked.
"Please, forgive me for being rude.
This Dio was just joking!
Have a heart, you know that I'm stressed by the tragic events I suffered just a few moments ago.
But, please, I beg you, all-mighty powerful, show mercy.
...
I'm not asking for your aid, merely I want to know how this world works, what are Gu's and how they can be used.
I need that power to survive in this new world, for I, am mere wanderer from another world."
The head rolled its eyes and replied.
"Dio, cut the bullshit.
We both know you're just trying to weaponize this knowledge against me."
After a long pause it added.
"But, you're right.
Your assistance would be helpful for my ambitions, thus, I'll share a bit of basic knowledge of this world with you."
Unauthorized duplication: this tale has been taken without consent. Report sightings.
The head frowned and began to explain.
"Gu's, are on essence manifestations of the Dao, whilst Immortals Gu's are full pieces of the great Dao.
To put it bluntly, a Gu is a 'replica', a memento of a law, a mere manifestation of a natural law or concept of the world.
A mortal Fire Gu would create a flame, depending on its rank from 1 to 5, the intensity, heat and size of the flame would vary.
That's all, pretty simple, right, higher rank stronger, lower rank weaker.
But, upon rank 6 to 9, the nature of the Gu chances.
There's a qualitative change, as they become a true trace of the great Dao, a Wisdom Gu is the true physical form of Wisdom and cognition.
For this reason, Immortal Gu are unique on this world, of course, even though there may be an 'unique' Immortal Gu, it doesn't mean that there can't be copies of this Gu as mortal versions.
Because, 'mortal' Gu's are manifestation of this law, 'Immortal Gu's, the law itself.
But, after reaching to rank 6 to 9, Gu's, become true traces of the great Dao, thus, for example Wisdom Gu is the true physical form of Wisdom and cognition.
For this reason, immortal Gu's are unique, of course this doesn't means that if there's an 'Immortal Gu' there can't be mortal copies, as I said before, the others are the 'manifestations' of the laws of our universe.
Basically, 'mortal' a manifestation of a law, 'immortal gu', the law on itself.
In this world there are a myriad of Gu's, that represent different traces of the world, some are plain and simple like 'Turn to Sand' Gu, others such as 'Inch of Time' are more abstract and others like Destiny Gu are more profound.
Their power and intensity varies depending on their rank, being the lowest the weakest, and the highest the strongest.
Naturally the effect of the Gu varies, some are effective at healing, some at defense, some at offense.
Others such as Fate and Destiny Gu are a bit more complex.
Fate Gu rank 9 is the physical shape of the laws of 'Fate' and predestination of the Heavenly Dao.
Fate from your and my world varies in its manifestation and execution but are equal on concept.
The concept I speak, is the casualty-manipulation of Fate in our respective worlds.
Fate, follows the rules of the Heavenly Dao, the cosmos, and fulfills the Heavenly Dao's purpose.
In your world Fate ensured that those who tried to go against the Heavenly Dao would pay.
Those who believe they can change Fate or conquer the universe are regulated, the world focuses on balance of men and nature.
However, is rather subtle unless you try to attain absolute power, such is the case of you or Ultimate Kars.
In my world though, the Fate is harsher and more strict, the Heavens constantly act as the regulators of the 'balance' of the cosmos.
To diminish losses, to decrease the benefits, that is the law of Heaven.
If a type of specie triumphs and prevails above the rest, for a long enough time frame, Heavens will forcefully suppress this 'variable', if an species is in the brink of extinction, the Heaven will find a way to preserve its existence.
If you had a bad luck for a long period, the Heavenly Dao will increase your luck temporarily as a way to diminish your 'losses', while the opposite also applies.
Finally, even though there are other methods to gain Lifespan they're flawed by essence, the only perfect method of gaining infinite Lifespan is through Lifespan Gu.
However, Lifespan Gu's production is decided by the Dao.
If a creature stands at the apex of the world, the production of Lifespan Gu will decrease, that is to prevent them from becoming truly Immortal.
The concept also applies to cities and villages, if they're too prosperous Heaven's will, will eventually throw one or two tides of beasts towards them.
Tribulations, Calamities and 'Human' Disasters.
...
The Heavenly Dao has two methods to do this, the first is through the power of Tribulations and variables, considered as luck or external circumstances.
Whilst the second and the hardest to deal with is Fate.
Fate, through its strings constantly manipulates subtly the world in the way it wants, the influence may seem weak, but is not.
Just imagine it, a tiny influence that has lasted for a million of years, like a person walking a single step on a day, tell me, just how much would he move in such a long time frame?
Similarly, what if your birth conditions, your own family, circumstances had already been decided since eons ago?
That is Fate, which controls everything, from the slightest to the most complex things, to go against it, almost impossible.
Luckily, since Fate Gu has been damaged, there are certain places it can't influence, such as the pocket dimensions known as Immortal apertures, secluded domains of Heaven and Earth and other safe-paradises.
Destiny Gu is similar in a way, as it focuses on two concepts.
'Casualty' and 'Causality', the predictable and the unpredictable.
It feeds on Luck threads of the surrounds and the 'Destiny' threads it creates each time is activated and affects a certain target.
The effect of Destiny Gu is also related to those two, as each time is created it creates a few 'Destiny threads' which can influence the whole world, the higher the rank the more thorough the methods become.
Though, there's a nice coincidence which is that both the 'threads' of Destiny and Fate, are pretty similar, thus while Fate exists, Destiny can constantly leech off it!
As long as Fate exists, Destiny Gu will slowly nourish itself and become stronger while Fate would be weakened.
Which brings me to the next point.
...
But, before that, I guess is about time I introduce myself, right?"
After ending the phrase, the black head suddenly exploded into countless agglomerations of clouds.
Surrounded by 8 chains, which forcefully restrained those clouds within that space.
Those chains slowly began to get closer and began to compress and manipulate the materials.
A dense purple fog covered all those clouds, and a new 'law' began.
From this point, all clouds began to gravitate one towards anothers.
They collided, hit and destroyed each other.
As if they're countless brushes hitting a sheet of paper, those clouds slowly created a beautiful image.
It was as if the Chaos itself was trying to mimic order.
Slowly, the figure of an incredible handsome young man appeared.
The nose and jaw of this young man was sharp, whilst his lips were tiny and pink.
He held black robes, with purple stripes which were really fitting with his aura and odd eyes.
The movements of him were restrained and graceful, yet, he held the pure elation and curiosity of a child on his smile which he couldn't hold back.
He was like a child glancing at his new toy!
"Hello, I am known as Limitless, Limitless Demon Venerable.
Or that is how they call me, as for my real name, though.
Well, my main body considered such memories pointless, for I, am merely one of his secondary wills, thus, is of little importance for me to recall something as trivial as a name."
Limitless shrugged calmly.
"But returning to my point, I and many other creatures we want to get rid of this Fate Gu..."
Dio looked at suspicion at this 'Limitless.'
"Get rid of Fate?"
Limitless sighed helplessly.
"Do you remember that I told you that Heaven seek balance above all, and that I am merely lingering will from my main body.
I guess you can figure out the rest yourself.
I, Limitless had an ambition to achieve 'Heaven' just like you, but, the world gave me no road ahead, even after I became a rank 9, invincible in the whole world, I was still restrained by the laws of this world.
Inevitably, I meet my death at old age, but even then, I haven't given up, for eons I have been here, arranging my own schemes, making my own plans and following the arrangements of Red Lotus Demon Venerable."
He glanced at Dio and said.
"He was a Venerable in Time path and he was able to see through the future, in one of the countless futures he saw, there was a 'pawn', an hypothetic being which would destroy Fate. (Fang Yuan.)
You...
You're not that man, but you also are pretty good yourself.
Because you have a tremendous, immeasurable good luck comparable to Red Lotus himself, while you're also an otherworldly demon, a complete Zombie, someone antagonic towards the notion of balance, with a rich Human Qi..."
Dio frowned, while thinking to himself.
"I see, it sounds quite logical, however I see some gaps on his story.
For example, the existence of an otherworldy demon.
I mean, he has been waiting for eons by his own words.
What were the odds of me and that 'men' arriving at the exact moment in the exact place.
No matter how I look at it, this is simply too unlikely!
Everything points towards the possibility that he's doing his best to diminish my value as a 'pawn', so I can't extort him.
...
Still, I don't know why he doesn't simply tries to steal my Destiny Gu and achieve such goal by himself, if he's so powerful.
I mean, he's a so-called Venerable, if Jojo's lingering will was powerful enough to awaken a century after his death, how could such an entity be so weak to not be able to use this Gu by itself?
Yes, if he's patient he could in a few centuries acquire the power to destroy Fate..."
Dio was a natural paranoid, and perhaps even a coward.
Someone like him despised to take risks!
He only acted when he felt confident on succeeding, thus, he decided to not follow his plan and merely play pretend with that entity, until he found a way to escape its grasp or he figured enough information to see if it was advantageous and safe to follow those 'arrangements.'
Limitless shrugged once more.
"For your first question, yes, it's very unlikely, but whether you believe me or not, its the truth.
As for the second one, well, take a look around you.
This isn't a common part of the world, we're literally at the edge of the universe, an artificial part created by me, to isolate myself from Heaven's will.
To fulfill my ambitions and to protect my wills from the Heavens, after all, by my continuous actions against Heaven's will, I am the most hated one.
Thus, if the Heavens were given a chance to strike, they'd eventually after I run out of power, burn me to ashes.
Yes, I could leave this world boundary, but not forever.
Continuous exposure would only accelerate my decay.
Having said this, what good would come if I had Destiny Gu?
I personally ensured that there are no Heaven's will existence here, nor 'Fate', hell, I even got rid of most of Luck's influence!
To feed your Gu I'd have to either leave it outside, hoping that Heaven's will doesn't try to crush it like the bug it is, or to go along with it, exposing myself to danger each time I do.
Now do you comprehend why I can't do that?
But you, you're an otherworldly demon, everything around you is tainted by that aura of 'unpredictability', thus, Heaven's will influence on you is almost zero.
Yes, Heaven's will could destroy you to ashes if it willed, however it follows its own principle of 'balance', on your current state it will merely send minor disasters to you, or may be decrease your luck.
But with your Venerable-like Luck, such variables are nullified, at least for the short term.
...
So, do you consider satisfactory my explanation?"
Limitless looked at Dio who snorted and replied.
"Could you stop reading my mind?"
The Venerable shook his head.
"No, can't do."
