Chapter 1: Back to the Past

Isaac's consciousness gently awakened after what seemed like a mere second of time.

What?... Am I not dead? Furthermore, the pain is gone...

Instantaneously, after what seemed like a mere heart beats worth of time his deep obsidian eyes gradually revealed itself. Yet, not even a mere second had passed before he went into action. Not even allowing a single moment for his eyes to adjust to the light his brain instantly set into motion, at a speed of much more of what a person's normal brain capacity could handle, he instantly assessed all the possible situations that he could possibly be in.

He was not ignorant. He was someone who even the gods would be jealous of. With a single glance, he could see that he was not in his old world. Or to be precise, he wasn't currently subsiding in the year of 2036. The year which changed the order of things in not only the virtual world of Paragon, but also the real world.

Without a doubt, he instantly knew that the time and place he was currently in was before the launch of Paragon. Oddly enough though even a genius would have its limits. How could it be possible that he managed to assess the time and place he was in at a pace which was even less than a half a second! That would simply be unheard of!

It was simple. Together with his incredible mind combined with the sight of his sister who was sitting across from him, he could easily determine that this was before the launch of Paragon.

After a single moment of nostalgia, he instantly knew that he had come back to the past. Calmly assessing his surroundings at superhuman speeds, he managed to determine that the place he currently subsided in was his old home, a place which he grew up in for 15 whole years with his beloved sister. A place which he couldn't forget even if he wanted to.

Yet oddly enough before even the space of another breath, he continued to assess the situation! This showed his exceedingly great mind because even after just experiencing the pain of death itself he didn't even allow himself a hair's breadth worth of time to control his emotions! Just what kind of a monster was this!?

He continued to operate at a speed which would make even the top geniuses cry, but amongst all this, it could be heard that he very quietly muttered to himself at a volume that only he himself could hear, "Fuck... The current year is definitely 2035, however the exact day I am not too sure about but it is definitely in the month of January!" Just these few words alone were enough to make it obvious that Isaac did not have any electronics. Otherwise, he could simply whip out whatever it may be, possibly an iPad and check the date. He found out the current time that he was in by simply glancing at the small poster outside their 17th-floor building which announced an event where the date of the event was 23/01/35! Not regarding whether the poster may be old because it definitely wouldn't be too far overdue because the city he was currently in was New York! People weren't that slack here to not even take off a poster which was possibly weeks old! But just with this, he knew that the launch of Paragon was near, and the gear would without a doubt be being sold!

But disregarding the validity of this poster and when Paragon will be released, it has to be made clear that they were in a 17th-floor building nearly a hundred metres into the air and the font size on the poster was definitely minuscule! Just what kind of godly eyesight was this!?

But looking across the table he finally tuned back to the sounds of the mortal world, and could once against hear the very distinct sound of thousands of cars whistling around.

"Ah! Isaac, what is wrong with you today? Listen to me!"

A cute voice could be heard across the table from him and the very sister which he died trying to save came into his line of sight.

Before when he saw his sister he had not let his mind run wild as he was just a few seconds ago still in a terrible situation, and still had to properly assess the situation. Yet, such was the abilities of a genius. One who was capable to think of what is the most important at a time of mayhem. Because without him, how could his sister possibly be saved? But now that he knew he was safe, his mind finally collapsed. As he finally let his emotions run wild.
