There were eleven people of us in this team, including one who was the eldest son of a noble family on the Silver Moon Continent. Unfortunately, because of the decline of the family, he became a ranger who lived by helping people solve problems.
He was Auger Hirsch, a cheerful young man. I didn't talk a lot, but sometimes I would ask him some questions because he had been to many places with rich experience. He said he had participated in the war between the Vidal Empire and the Lashagarner Empire. Due to the Lashagarner Empire was defeated, its prince was exiled by the Vidal Empire to the extremely cold Snow Wolf Field.
I always thought that taking a boat was an interesting experience. But when I saw the big boat and the ocean, I realized that I was scared. I had never seen the sea before. It was so vast and the boat was so small. I was afraid that the boat would be overturned by the wave.
I stayed on the coast of Thunder for a few days and then took a boat to the Silver Moon Continent. After I got on the boat, things were getting worse. Maybe it was because I grew up in the forest, I got seasick. I ate little every day and often vomited. Fortunately, Auger gave me some bitter yellow pills. Although they didn't taste very good, I felt more comfortable after taking them.
So Auger and I became quite good friends. I also decided to go on adventures with him in the future. But I knew how slim such an opportunity was because I knew that if my father and my brother were really as good as they said, I might not have had the chance to venture out with him.
After more than two months of sailing, we finally reached the Silver Moon Continent. Auger jumped off the boat first, and I followed him.
On the boat, Auger always wanted to see my sword, but I refused. This time he changed another strategy. When I had relaxed myself and breathed the fresh air, he stretched out his hand to grab my sword, and the next second he let go of it in surprise. As soon as he grasped the sword, he was scalded by the scorching air of the flame.
"Ouch! My hands, what’s that? It burns my hands!"
I ignored his question. He patted me on the shoulder and said, “Did you hear me, fire man?” I smiled and teased him, "Told you not to touch it. You can't blame me for that." After hearing what I said, he was curious and asked me what it was.

I said, “You’ll know.”
I wanted to wait until the day of the competition when I killed my noble brother (the heir of the Golden Clan), then I would show everyone this sword. I wondered what my ruthless father would look like at that time. Maybe he would be surprised, maybe he would be furious. I couldn’t wait to see his bewildered look. What would he feel when he saw the perfect son he cultivated was defeated by an unknown man like me. I was really looking forward to it.
The competition was less than ten days away. We strolled on the streets of Hamshno, the capital of the Jynoshine Empire, which was the most powerful empire on the mainland. As we walked, we saw a tall carriage surrounded by guards and maids. People who was inside the carriage must be a person with a distinguished status.
The carriage came over slowly, and then, when it was less than a hundred meters away from me, I heard a loud noise. People on the street began running and screaming, children cried, and some men shouted "Assassins! Assassins!"
A dozen men with swords surrounded the carriage immediately, the guards asked in a panic, "How dare you! Do you know who this was? This is the Jynoshine Empire’s princess. Do you want to die? Get out of the way now, or I will kill all of you without mercy!" The assassins didn't move a bit. After one of them gave a hint, the assassin made a move.
In a few seconds, the princess's guards were all killed. I saw an assassin walked to the front of the carriage and knelt down on one knee and said, "Your Highness, we are here to take your life."
After saying that, the assassin stood up and walked slowly toward the carriage as if he was not worried about the other team of guards who had rushed over. Auger, who was hiding with me, wanted to rush out to stop the assassin. But I stopped him. I wanted to wait and see why such Her Highness didn't seem to panic at all.
A female’s voice came from the carriage, "Do you think you can kill me?"
The assassin stopped in front of the carriage, drew out the sword and said, "Yes, your Highness, I never doubted about it. Today, you will atone for the crime your father has committed against us!"
He swung his sword forcefully upwards, the next second, a beautiful woman in colorful gauze jumped out of the carriage, holding a long sword to block his attack.
The man smiled and said, "I’ve heard that Princess Miria is adept with both the pen and the sword. It seems that the rumor is true."
Miria also laughed and said, "As long as it’s enough to take you down." As she said, she stabbed the man but he easily dodged her attack.
This princess was good, but it seemed that she was not good at using swords. She should be a sorceress. I told Auger that the princess would lose within no more than ten strokes. Auger didn't buy my words at first, but after a few rounds, he knew I was right. The man stabbed Miria fiercely, and the princess couldn't dodge but use the sword to block the attack. And then the man took the opportunity to knock her to the ground.
The man walked over slowly until he stopped in front of the princess, he raised his sword, wanting to end the battle with a final stab. Instinctively, I rushed out and picked up the princess and flashed aside.
Several assassins nearby rushed out to attack me, but the brigade of guards arrived. I didn't want to have anything to do with them, but when I was about to leave, Miria grabbed my hand. This was the first time I was touched by a woman’s soft and delicate skin. My heart was racing, and I felt my face was burning. I looked at Miria's beautiful face for a few seconds, and then I pushed her away and disappeared on the street quickly.
