About a century earlier...
A blue wolf stood on the top of a large marble stone. His fur appeared magical and a blue aura of magical energy consumed his entire being. The eyes of the wolf were pure white light, with no pupil or iris. Next to the wolf stood another creature. It was a fox. The fox had orange fur and her medium sized tail had a black tip. A fiery red-orange aura engulfed the body of the fox.
The two beings weren't in a physical realm. They were in a pitch black void.
“It finally happened,” the wolf, Grand Okami, said, though his mouth didn't move at all. “The Emperor divided the Kingdom of Okisune. The Okami and Kisune are no longer together.”

“Indeed, that is correct,” the fox, Grand Kisune, affirmed. “This means the Okami and Kisune have lost their special connection with us. They will not have access to our grand power.”
There was a moment of pure silence in a perfectly empty void where time itself seemed to remain stationery.
“I see in a distant future,” a voice came from nowhere. Who said these words? It was neither the Grand Kisune nor the Grand Okami. It was yet another being. “Yes, in a distant future, Okisune will return. All it'll take is the struggle of a certain prince...”
The Grand Wolf howled. The Grand Fox stayed silent and looked into the nothingness in front of her. “It will come to pass, and when it does, the Emperor will be defeated...”
“And all will be restored...” the mysterious voice added.
The fox gazed into the white eyes of the wolf, and the wolf stared back. A white portal suddenly opened in front of them. Taking their eyes off each other, the two beings ran through the portal and it closed the moment they did.
“It'll be done. Yes, through the Kisune Prince Ethan of the Spellweavers...” the strange voice said in the void.
