XENOS’s POV:

It’s been one month since I was born in this world. And I got no idea what the hell am I even thinking. Is a baby supposed to know these things?

Although I say my room, it is not that extravagant and there are not many things. There is only my crib and an ugly looking doll made of straw and old clothes. Yup, its ugly. The only thing that makes me feel excited ns my only entertainment is when my other tells me about our village, our house and many new and mind-boggling things about this world.

Our family is not rich. We do have a house that we can claim ours. And there is a plot of land that our ancestors left for their future generation. My father cultivates many types of plants there or so what my mother told me.

There is a rule in our world that no child less than one-year-old cannot leave his home. Apparently, there are things called phantoms that look like mutated beasts roam the wastelands. So for the safety of the children, this rule was passed.

Since I am only three months old, so I can not leave my house. I just roll around this crib all day long with this ugly doll. And my parents think I love this doll. How clueless can they get?

Anyways let's not trail off to some mundane thoughts. As I was saying, I still have seven months before I can go out of our house. Although we have a house, it is not a very big one. It is rather small.

My mom sometimes brings me around the house. It is a single storied house. There are a total of six rooms. One bedroom, where my parents sleep. My room which only has the crib and that ugly bastard. I am getting nightmares because of that shit. *Ahem* sorry for that. As I was telling, there is one kitchen and surprisingly a moderately sized library. Apparently, my ancestors liked to adventure around the world before settling down here, so we have a room full of their findings during their adventures and journals that depict the outside world and how vast the world truly is. Through the generations, after our ancestors settled here, they also collected many books. Apart from the library, there is also a room where my dad keeps his gears. I am not allowed to go in there before I turn one since there are many sharp objects. And at last, there is a basement. I am not allowed in there at all and my parents did not tell me what is inside there.

It's not like I want to know what is inside that basement. My dad promised me that the day when I show him my worth, he will let me enter the basement. I really don’t want to go to the basement but he seemed very hyped about it.

In my three months of life, I have gathered knowledge about many things. Such as there is a power which is used to bend the laws of nature by will. And people call it magic or some call it arcane arts. I prefer magic more. My mother taught me about magic and different types of magic and its attributes.

There is primarily six type of magic attributes. Among them, four are said the elemental magic. They are fire, earth, wind, and water. And the rest of the two are light and darkness. These are called unique attributes.

If you ask me which attribute is stronger than the other one, then I will say neither or at least what mother told me. Fire wins against earth, earth wins against the wind, wind wins against water and water wins against fire. So they form a cycle.

The two unique attributes have their own characteristics. Light is used to heal and bless alongside barrier and protection. But the dark attribute is used for curses, necromancy etc.

Other than these six attributes, there is an attribute which is considered to not exist since it is too rare. It is the attribute of Space & Time. People having this attribute can bend the space and time as they wish and are considered to be the strongest attribute holders among all.

Each elemental attributes has a higher version of them. For fire, the color of the fire signifies how strong it is. The weakest flame is of orange color and the strongest is of purple color. For water, its higher attribute is ice. For earth it is metal and for wind it is lightning.

Mother also told me that every person in this world normally has only one attribute. But there are some geniuses, who possess dual attributes. But there are some who possess more than two attributes and they are considered prodigies. Their number is one in a million. Apparently the number of attributes you have, the more toll it will take on your body.

I have no idea how my mother knows about these things but there is no harm in knowing about this world. Also if you are thinking that having dual attribute is a good thing, then I have to say you are wrong and right. Let me explain.

Everyone in this world who can wield magic has a magic reserve. It is there not only to show how much magic you can use but to protect you from the influx as well. That’s right, you can not use more magic than your reserve. And the reserve is set when you are born and can only be increased through meditation and training.

Since you have a fixed amount of magic at a time, so having multiple attributes mean you will have your magic reserve or what mother calls it, the mana reserve split into two different mana essence. So all of your essences will be cut into multiple portions. So each of your multiple attributes will be weaker than if you had only one of them. It only makes you weaker at the early stages and you can’t reach their higher versions as both of their higher versions might contradict each other.

But multiple wielders are still considered strong albeit at the later stages. The reason is that if they succeed in combining any of their two attributes, then they will have a single attribute which will be as strong as any higher versions of the attribute. But in exchange, they lose their two attributes and are left with a single attribute.

Mother was not quite sure about all the other combinations of the two attributes but there were some well known combined attributes that she knew. Like earth and water attribute make the wood attribute or more popularly known as nature attribute. Fire and earth attribute make magma attribute. Wind and earth attribute make sand attribute. There are many others that mother do not know and I might find them in the future.

Every child gets tested for their magic reserve and magic attribute at the age of five. My mother was also got tested at the age of five and she was qualified to become a mage with a single attribute which was water. Although she was a weak mage since her magic reserve was not that large but she still learned many magic spells. On the other hand, my father was not qualified for a mage since he did not have a large enough magic reserve to learn magic.

The magic reserve can be increased steadily but if you reach divinity and acquire your own divine essence then you can use the mana in nature and can have a near infinite magic reserve. But mother did not know about divinity as it was treated as a legend of the past or a fairytale. But I got interested in it and I will research it.

Enough about magic let’s go to my dad. He is a warrior who plows and cultivates vegetables in the land that we owned as an inheritance. An easy going man in the truest sense. He is also one of the guards and a member of the hunting team of this village. There is a thing called qi in this world that warriors use to become stronger and more proficient.

Dad refrained to tell me anything about qi as I was just a little child of age three months. People generally start training their qi especially those who can not become mages at the age of ten. So I was promised by my dad that he will tell me everything about qi and warriors when I become older.

I am not sulking because of it. Rather I can not wait to become one year old. Since then I can finally see the outside world that my parents talk about and get rid of this ugly doll.

And I also want to find why I know these many things even though I was born just three months ago. Who am I? Or rather who was I?

With determination and anticipation filled eyes I am feeling sleepy. Well, cannot be helped. I am going to sleep.
