The first thing I want to say is a big thank you to those who spent their time reading Return Of The Ancient. This story almost reached 120 000 words and it takes time to read it all (even if you just skim through it). For this reason, I also want to apologize to all of you who dedicated your time to reading my lousy work…
This brings us to the purpose of this announcement.
There will be no more chapters until the end of February. So, this story will take a small break!
Yes, a break! I won’t stop writing!
I already spent some time thinking about how to do this, and I decided to take a break and focus on things one at a time.
I must first finish a project that my livelihood depends on. Honestly, I could do it and write this at the same time, but I chose not to. My schedule is all messed up and once I finish this project, I could organize my time perfectly…
But enough of that…
The main reason for taking this break is that I already spend some time rewriting Return Of The Ancient!
A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation.
When I started posting chapters I did it purely for fun, I never intended for it to be anything serious.
But after some time, it actually became a fun and important activity, and this made me look back and notice a bunch of mistakes and nonsense that I wrote.
So, I decided to write everything from the beginning!
Let’s keep it as short as possible.
I would like to address a couple of things that I’m working on changing:
-Info dump is one of the biggest problems in this story. Early chapters contain an enormous amount of info dump that isn’t even relevant to current events. All of it will be removed or replaced with something that has significance to the story.
-Changing a lot of things about Veles in general. I will make sure to keep his background and abilities more mysterious and interesting. And gradually reveal information about him over time.
-This might or might not be a spoiler. It is about Davis. He is meant to be an important character but I think I placed a lot of attention on him…
-Some info is released too soon or is just a bunch of nonsense. I will try to change that…
That’s the gist of it. There is a bunch of other things that I want to include here, but I don’t want to make this very long.
I know it is kind of shameless to rewrite everything after 100k+ words. But I really want to make this story at least a little more enjoyable for readers!
Will I do a good job? I don’t know! At least I will give it a try…
