One month later

I have finally started to understand what is happening here.

To put it simply Dwarfs are slaves and most of them go mining every morning while children and sick ones are left to the ”jail” as I call it. ”Jail” seems to be simply a old mining tunnel that has been mined empty and converted to house slaves.

There are guite a lot of slaves in this mine.I have seen about 100 dwarfs here but I am not even sure that this is the only group that works in the mine. There could be several hundreds of dwarfs in these mines.

From the actions of people I have found out few things.

There is old dwarf that has little bits of grey in his waist-length brown hair.

He might be named Grumni and seems to be boss of dwarves.

He also doesnt have beard like you would expect from dwarf. Maybe there is a reason for it?

Also the name of the woman who takes care of me is Danci. She has short dark-brown hair that you would not expected her to have. Her eyes are light brown and express her emotions really well.

You could call her beautiful but you would need to look over the dirt that everyone here seems to have.

At least I think that ”Grumni” and ”Danci” are their names as I still dont understand the language too well. I have only managed to pick up some basic words like ”eat, sleep, morning, night, food”

But it seems that both humans and dwarfs speak same language.

There also seems to be different dwarf that younger people follow.

He is young looking one and has short pitch black hair and short beard.

Even if he is aggressive guy he still seems to listen Grumni like son listens to father so most likely he isnt evil or bad person. I havent heard his name but Grumni calls him ”boi”,what does that word mean? I would love to find out.

I have only seen two humans here older one is around 30 and second one is about 20.

Older one of them is someone that dwarfs dont seem to fear.

He even talks with Grumni without clear distaint that you would expect from someone at his job.

As his job is to oversee that dwarf-slaves stay in-line and dont try anything.

Other man gives feeling of a thief or bandit but he also seems to be one of the people who oversee dwarfs while working.

He also comes to the ”jail” at random evenings to take a dwarf girl or woman with him for a night.

Those women always return with clothes ripped and tears running down their faces.

He most likely rapes those women, but I am not 100% sure as I still cant understand everyting that is happening.

I was surprised when I heard his voice as that is the same voice that I heard right after I was born. Most likely he is also the one who slapped me that time. Maybe my mother died while he was raping her?

I really want to beat him up but I need to grow up first and that will take long time.

-few weeks pass by normally-

Ooh! There is something happening!

Humans are busy and have given us better food and rags today. What could be the reason for this.

Danci lifts me in better position in her arms as I still cant move. While all other dwarfs form a line.

Is there going to be some sort of inspection or why are they lining up?

Is somebody important coming to the mines? Why would someone rich come here?

Just as I think about it small man wearing black robes walks in. Those robes remind me of wizards in games. Maybe there is wizards in this world?

He walks slowly and grins as he sees dwarfs.

Then he stops near the gate and bows slightly towards the way he came in

After him comes a man who wears some sort of armor.

He looks average in every way but his armor stands out.

When he come closer I realize that his armor looks lot like the bronce cuirass armor that Greeks used in ancient history. The one that is shaped to look like well toned human body, six-pack and all.

Other than cuirass he also has basic looking arm and leg protectors also similar in Greek-style.

He also holds helmet in his armpit. That helmet also looks to be made of bronce.

All of his armor is engraved with elobrately made symbols and pictures.

If he has armor like that he must be important man as till now I have not seen anyone wear armor.

He also had decorated bronze sword hanging on his hip.

Behind him came 10 large men who also had similar bronce armor but lot less impressive than what he had. Those 10 men seem to be guards that protect the first guy.

I will just call the important man ”lord” to differentiate him from others. I will also call robed man a ”wizard” until I find who he really is.

After talking to wizard lord comes towards the line dwarfs have made.

He then starts talk to Grumni like he were Grumnis friend.

Maybe lord and Grumni have known each other for longtime?

Maybe he really has as I still dont know how slow dwarfs age and Grumni seems to be old even as a dwarf.

After few minutes of talking lords face goes dark and he marches towards the wizard guy.

Lord starts to yell to the wizard and wizard seems little panicked.

After ordering guards to do something lord ordered that wizard were to put in shackles.

Guards come back after a while with younger overseer and drag him front of the lord.

Lord tells something to the overseer and overseer starts desperately begging.

Hearing overseer beg lord seems to get angrier and angrier until he takes his sword out.

At that moment overseer turns around and tries to escape but lord cuts his head of with single strike without a problem.

Again he starts to yell orders to the guards who start to drag wizard away.

After most of the guards have left lord bows lightly to Grumni.

Grumni seems to be surprised by lords actions and also bows while rambling about something.

Lord the raises back up and starts walking away while saying something to Grumni.

That something seemed to be order to relax as dwarf-line spreads out back to normal free-tim groups.

Next day older overseer comes over wearing clothes that seem similar to the ones that wizard had when lord visited. Maybe he got a promotion or something? Grumni talks with him for a while and only stops when interrupted by some guy who has business to the overseer.

After a while older overseer stops visiting jail but food and clothes get better. There are now even some medicine given to sick dwarfs. Did the lord order something to be done to help dwarfs? Why would he do that? Well, I am not getting any answers until I learn language so I better continue learning.
