Vill stepped closer to them, pistol at the ready. “Speak of the devil. Cross, we need to arrest Fauci. He’s behind this whole thing!”
“What? What are you talking about?” Cross asked, confused.
“Fauci secretly works for Phizer Corp, the organization that’s behind all of the viruses that are making these abominations. He’s been selling info to them, and he brought us here to get rid of us to make it easier to cause an outbreak in Possum Town. We found all the records in the computers Fauci, so don’t try to act innocent,” Vill bit out.
Cross was shocked. There was no way Fauci could possibly do stuff like this! He would never hurt a fly! His thoughts were interrupted as Fauci started chuckling. It had an almost sinister undertone to it.
Cross turned around to see Fauci was pointing his gun at Vill. “Looks like you’ve finally figured it out. She’s right you know, Cross. I have been working for Phizer this entire time.”
Cross could barely breathe. Why would he do this? “W-why? Why would you betray our trust like this?!” Cross demanded.
Fauci gave a cold chuckle and began to walk over to one of the computers, keeping his gun trained on the trio. “Why does anyone do anything, Cross? Money. They give me a million dollars for every SUNS member I lead to their death. Hehehe,” Fauci chortled. “Easy money!”
“And now, it’s time for me to earn another 3 million dollars! Feast your eyes on my latest creation, a Frankenstein abomination I lovingly call, The Vaccinator!”
Cross gasped as he saw the opaque green liquid drain from one of the tubes, revealing a large, mutated, humanoid creature.
It was easily 8 feet tall, and its arms had grown into massive claws that could bisect a cow. Its heart had grown so large that it had burst free from its chest cavity, and its veins were bulging with clots.
But its most striking feature by far were the 6 massive tentacles that sprouted from its back, each one tipped in a syringe containing the fluid that creates the zombies.
“Prepare to meet your doom, Cross!” Fauci shouted.
Cross was unable to take his eyes off the abomination. The monster’s eyes snapped open, and it reared one of its arms back before smashing through the glass surrounding it.
“This is what you get for rejecting the Soyence!” Fauci launched maniacally, drawing The Vaccinator’s attention.
It jumped to the floor next to Fauci and wasted no time in injecting him with its syringe tentacles, causing Fauci to fall over in a near faint.
“AAAAAGH… B-but why…? I trusted… the Soyence,” Fauci uttered before his heart instantly swelled twice in size and killed him.
The Vaccinator turned to the team, letting them bask in its horrifying visage before rearing its head back.
The horrifying beast, The Vaccinator, gave a terrible roar and began to skulk towards the team.
Cross fired his shotgun at The Vaccinator, but it only succeeded in enraging it further and making it move faster.
Vill and Barry assisted with some pistol and submachine gun fire, only to end with similar results.
Cross dodged a swipe from one of the beast’s claws and shot it directly in its exposed heart, making it screech in pain and stagger back.
Cross smiled for a split second, before he noticed the massive gaping hole in the creature’s heart beginning to close. It wouldn’t stay down for long. He realized that there was only one way they were going to be able to kill this thing, but it was a long shot.
“Vill, set some charges around the lab. Make sure they’re strong enough to level this entire godforsaken manor. Barry and I will keep this thing occupied!”
Vill nodded and set out to her task.
The Vaccinator got back up and charged at Cross and Barry, syringes at the ready, only for them to dodge out of the way and shoot it in the back.

Cross managed to score a headshot with his shotgun, blowing a chunk of its skull off, and Barry punched a few holes into the Vaccinator’s heart, making it screech and kneel down while it tried to regenerate. But the team wouldn’t let it get back up on their watch.
Vill planted the last charge and set them all on a timer. They had 7 minutes to get out of the mansion and get to a safe distance.
Barry and Cross emptied one last round at The Vaccinator and ran away with Vill. They exited the lab and threw a nearby shelf in front of the door as a barricade.
They continued their sprint even as they heard The Vaccinator tear through the door and chase after them. They didn’t look back.
They reached the cave system and had to dodge a few zombies that had wandered in. Panting and out of breath, they reached the staircase and went up into the mansion, arriving through the door on the second floor.
As they were running down the hallway towards the staircase that led to the front door, Cross suddenly heard a familiar distorted growl. Though now it had a clear gurgling tone to it.
He looked to his left and saw Corporal, or at least what was left of him. It looked like some zombies had discovered the dog’s corpse and torn off most of the flesh. The remaining tendrils of muscle had long ago rotted and turned green.
The shot Fauci injected into Corporal must have been the serum that created the zombies! Now the team had to deal with both a zombie hellhound and The Vaccinator.
A screech from behind reminded Cross to keep running. He’d made it down the hallway and to the top of the stairs when he saw something that had him sighing with relief.
It seemed as though The Vaccinator and the zombies were not natural allies because, when The Vaccinator came into Corporal’s sight, the canine monstrosity howled and leapt on the tentacled aberration, tearing a few of its syringes off.
The team made their way to the barricaded front door and tried to tear it open while the two monstrosities fought, but it was a hopeless endeavor as the door was far too securely fastened for them to pull the coatrack away. Before they could even aim their guns at the barricade, The Vaccinator had already torn off Corporal’s rotting head.
Barry grabbed Cross’ shoulder. “Cross, I have an idea. I need you and Vill to run off to the side and be quiet. Trust me on this.”
Reluctantly, Cross and Vill nodded and ran towards one of the side hallways. With them sprinting away, it was only Barry facing The Vaccinator, the blocked door at his back.
As soon as his teammates were in the clear, Barry turned to The Vaccinator and shouted, “Hey, you overgrown tumor! Get me! I’m right here for you!” The Vaccinator screeched and leapt from the second story down to the bottom floor before charging at Barry.
Barry waited until the last moment and then dodged to the side, causing The Vaccinator to ram right through the front door and fall to the ground 10 yards outside the mansion, temporarily stunned and confused.
Cross and Vill gave a quiet cheer before Cross noticed that Barry hadn’t gotten up from the floor.
Cross rushed to Barry’s side and gasped when he saw that one of The Vaccinator’s syringes was lodged in his chest, its deadly concoction pumped deep.
“Barry! Are you okay?” Cross cried.
Barry gave a small cough, spraying a bit of blood on his shirt. “N-no, I don’t think I will be… Uugh. Cross, I want you to know, even though I always shouted and yelled at you, I love you like a brother…”
“Do you have anything you want to say to your wife or kids?” Cross asked.
“Tell Rhonda that she had a nice ass…” Barry said before giving out a final breath and becoming still in Cross’ arms.
“Rhonda? The new recruit in the police department?” Cross asked, but it was already too late. Barry was dead.
Cross closed Barry’s eyes out of respect. He’d been a good man, but they had more pressing issues to worry about right now.
Namely, the massive abomination that was preparing to charge back into the mansion and finish them off.
The Vaccinator pulled its head back and gave another horrible screech, its few remaining tentacles rearing back, ready to strike.
But before it took a single step forward a loud noise was heard in the air above the mansion, it was so loud that it droned out any thoughts that Cross had.
He gasped, the helicopter! Rad had come back for them!
The helicopter appeared in the air above The Vaccinator, and Rad took a few steps over to the open chopper door, rocket launcher in hand. Rad had gotten so skilled at flying that thing, thanks to Fauci’s instructions, that he didn’t even have to fly it anymore, having found an autopilot button right next to the ON button.
“Eat this mutant scum!” Rad yelled as he pulled the trigger, a rocket rocketed out of the rocket launcher, zooming towards The Vaccinator’s exposed heart.
The Vaccinator was too slow, and the rocket was too fast. It was impossible for the creature to dodge or block it.
The rocket impacted with The Vaccinator, instantly exploding its upper torso in a bloody and fiery display.
When the smoke cleared all that was left were The Vaccinator’s legs, which teetered before falling to the floor.
“Rad! You came back for us!” Vill shouted. Rad quickly lowered the helicopter to the ground for the two to get on.
“We need to get out of here fast! We only have a few seconds before this place blows!” Cross franticly shouted. Rad nodded and quickly got the chopper off the ground and away from the mansion.
The mansion exploded in a huge ball of fire and dust as soon as the chopper cleared the tree line, knocking the helicopter around in the air before Rad eventually regained control and began heading back to Possum Town.
Cross sighed in relief as he leaned back in his seat. It was finally over. They would get back to Possum Town, report their discoveries and the deaths of the rest of the team, and everyone would definitely believe them.
Probably, maybe, hopefully…
The end… for now…
