Abigail: Behold my inferno!

Abigail created a big flame, 400° on each hand, as she walked confidently toward Saki. Saki didn't move an inch as Abigail stared at him. In the blink of an eye, 20 puppets, each 200cm tall, muscular, and holding a katana, rose from the ground. Within 3 seconds, Abigail was already beaten up so badly that she gave up and crawled away. Saki walked back as Olga and Mihail, a bit shocked, moved carefully towards Saki. Purian just cheered him on.

In the next fight, Lia Hao Moon faced Marian Adrian. They both walked to the field and stood there silently. Lia was 166cm tall with long black hair, a tall silky black dress, and black eyes, with snow-white skin. Adrian was a 173cm tall man with a muscular body, short brown hair, and blue eyes.

The judge: Lia Hao Moon, Will of Blood vs. Marian Adrian, Will of Belief.

Adrian walked towards Lia with a book and a pencil in his hand.

Adrian: Since you're a cute girl, I'll give you the first attack. Give it your best.

He smirked while Lia nodded and created 300 piercing spirals, shooting them at Adrian. Realizing he was in danger, Adrian wrote in his book, "Melts before hitting me." Fifty of the spirals melted, but the rest destroyed his body. The judge quickly ended the battle while the medical team ran to Adrian, who was already dead. Therefore, Lia was eliminated. Purian and Olga stood in shock while Mihail was sweating. Saki just stared at Lia and the dead body of Adrian, as did Amadeus. Purian was furious and started yelling at Lia.

Purian: Are you crazy? You just killed the guy!

Lia: He wanted me to give him all I had. I didn't know he was that weak. I'm sorry.

Olga: Are you out of your mind?

Saki: Both of you, be quiet. We're getting a lot of unwanted attention. The girl seems like she really didn't know this attack would kill him, yet she seems so calm. I guess she's just dense.

They all went silent. The next fight was Purian Joven against Almond Baitjoza from the big clan of the south. He was one of the rising talents in all of the big four clans, next to Murasaki Saki, Mihail Lowland, and claus Hades, who was already a C.W.R.H member after taking the exam last year. Purian walked to the field, and as Almond walked in, he looked down on Purian with his blue eyes. His tall black hair was tied up in a ponytail. As he extended his hand to get ready, Purian spoke.

Purian: I'm gonna break your arm if you don't give me all you got.

The judge: Purian Joven, the Will of Bless vs. Almond Baitjoza, the Will of Evil.

Olga: Will of Bless?

Amadeus: I felt like he had the Will of Bless, so I signed him up that way. Sorry.

They all stared at Amadeus with disappointment.

Saki: You're really messing up my image of you.

Amadeus: Whatever.

The fight started, and Purian ran towards Almond, who was staring at him. Almond summoned a drum and a drumstick. As Purian got close, Almond hit the drum with the drumstick, sending shockwaves that knocked Purian backward. Purian restored his balance and landed on his feet. For the next 5 minutes, it continued like that—Purian running towards Almond, and Almond hitting his drum, sending him back.

Mihail: That's absurd. He'll surely get exhausted after a short period.

Saki: Yeah, I guess we just need to take the exam next year.

Olga: No, he must win, and I am sure that he will.

Saki: Something seems off.

Mihail: What do you mean?

Saki: I thought Almond's ability was shockwaves only. I've never actually met him before; I've only heard about him. Saki: The presence of oscillations in the air and ground after the third shockwave means that the waves have positive and negative physical forms. Imagine it like this: I throw a ball at Purian. When it hits him, the ball bounces back to me. So I throw another ball, which leads to the first ball bouncing back at Purian. The second ball bounces back to me, and I throw a third ball. This makes the second ball bounce back at Purian, but the third ball still bounces back at me. This is when the oscillations come into play. Almond uses them to disperse the third shockwave from him.

Olga: How?

Mihail: I didn't understand much, but is it like minus one plus one is zero?

Amadeus: Yeah, the oscillations work as an opposite form of the wave because waves pass positively horizontally while oscillations cause dispersion due to their vertical direction and negative nature.

Olga: And how is a wall going to help him?

Saki: If he uses the wall to make the waves reflect faster at Almond, it will cause him trouble.

Mihail: But there's no wall in the field.

Saki: Well, I already said we must prepare for next year's exam.

In the field, Purian noticed the pattern of Almond's attack. Every three waves, he felt his hair get messed up, which allowed him to get closer to Almond. Purian understood that Almond's attacks were like water waves that come from the left to the right. When they hit an object, the part that hits will reflect. The second wave makes the first wave reflect again, and the third does the same to the second. After that, the oscillations scatter the waves. Purian understood this after 20 minutes into the battle. He decided that before the third shockwave, he should reflect the first two waves back at Almond. He ran at Almond with high speed, and Almond hit the drum. The first shockwave sent Purian back, and as he landed on his feet, the second drum hit sent the second wave. Before it reflected the first shockwave at him, he broke the ground under his feet and took a big piece of stone to use as a reflector, which led to the shockwave hitting Almond. Almond panicked, but when he tried to use his drum again, Purian jumped at him and kicked him out of the field.

Purian shouted: VICTORY!

Mihail, Amadeus, and Olga shouted back at him while Saki just smiled. As Purian was walking out of the field, a tall man with long silky black hair, wearing a cloak and straw hat with olive eyes and a katana, jumped in and walked to Almond, starting to kick him. Purian walked back and grabbed the man tightly by the hand.

Purian: What the hell do you think you're doing?

The man silently turned his eyes to Purian, and they started turning blue. Then Amadeus showed up behind the man.

Amadeus: Hey August, long time no see, huh?

August: Amadeus, tsk, what a bad day.

Amadeus: Hey, don't be rude.

Saki, Mihail, Olga, and Purian were all shocked at how fast Amadeus was.

Amadeus: Don't you think you better deal with your son in your house, August? You know a lot of people here won't buy a scene of a child getting beaten up by an adult while he's unconscious. It disgusts me how a person like you is free to go where he likes. Seeing you makes me want to vomit, to be honest. And what were you going to do to my student a moment ago? Want to pick a fight with me?

Amadeus smiled the entire time. August just walked away with his son. Amadeus and Purian walked back to the rest, and they all cheered Purian up.

Amadeus: Now you're all going to be in my team.

Purian: What team? I don't want to join the C.W.R.H.

Amadeus: Why not? It's fun.

Purian: It's not like I'm against it, but I don't have an ability, and I'm not that strong.

Amadeus: Don't worry about that. I'll teach you how to use willpower, and I'm sure you don't want your memories to be deleted.

Purian: Is this still going to happen? You gotta be kidding me.

Amadeus: Yeah, and there's something else. I have a theory I want to test. I would be grateful if you could join.

Purian: That's a lot of information. But, Mr. Amadeus, which part are you in?

Amadeus: I'm in the rescue part, but since I'm responsible for this team now, we’ll be doing different missions from all the sectors.

Purian: That sounds exhausting.

Amadeus: You'll get used to it. You'll start living in dorms, with two teams in each dorm.

Olga: So, us and another team, right?

Amadeus: Yeah, since I'm the strongest, our team will be Team 1. Because the girl earlier killed her opponent, two of the ones who lost will replace them. Each team has a maximum of 5 people, so there will mostly be 50 teams. Before even half the year passes, mostly 30 of them will be killed or will leave the C.W.R.H.

Saki: What a way to encourage us.

Amadeus: Don't worry. I'll train you all to be so strong you will never die or run away.

Mihail: That sounds quite scary.

Mihail said while laughing.
