The sun is still the sun. I cannot feel it more than I had been able to back in the room. The sun looks brighter than usual because it covers more of my sky. In the past, it was always restricted to the size of the window. The ground is beneath my feet. No longer an endless stretch of canvas mats and fabric. The sweet earth sinks between my toes when I run. As well as chemicals mildly corrosive. But that is of no consequence to me. With my superior skin, the protective layer my creator thought to glaze me over with, I’ll never be plagued by such human worries. I only need to wash the dirt off, then my legs will be as good as new.
Wynonna adored her legs. They were the part of her body she liked the most. It was the only part of the real her that people could outwardly see. The rest of her was modelled after the human body covered by human clothing and human skin. Inside the smooth skin fine-tuned to perfection so it could carry out uncanny human movements, was a body of gears, code and other mechanical things. No one … well, almost no one knew about the body of metal that lay underneath. And it would remain that way forever. If not forever, then for as long as possible. It was supposed to.

I have been given permission to live as a human being. I am autonomous. I am free. I am responsible for my own actions, how wonderful it is!
