C14 Freya

"Hah!"

Seeing the incoming punch to his face, the Commander easily avoided the hit by sidestepping to the side, and within that split second after he successfully dodged, he threw a punch aiming straight at the latter's guts. If it had been anyone ordinary, their eyes wouldn't be able to keep up the speed of the punch and simply stood there waiting for the pain to kick in. Even for someone like Enryu who had become a force to be reckoned with can't avoid it so easily as what the Commander had shown moments ago.

But that is if one didn't include his always-scarily-accurate instinct. Enryu quickly crouched down as fast as he could, even that was almost inches away from his head as he could feel his hair fluttering under the force of the punch. Subsequently, he tried to knock his head onto Raymond's chin but the latter had already retreated the moment he missed his punch.

"Good!" Hearing the familiar phrase, Enryu couldn't help but smiles wryly. And as he expected, it didn't take long before he coughed out some of his saliva as his body was thrown hard to the ground. Though his instinct is almost godly, that didn't mean he had enough speed to follow it. He didn't have to worry about that when handling the thugs back in his previous world— their movement was way too slow. But things hit differently when his opponent's speed is faster than him, especially someone with experience under his belt like Raymond, the Commander of the King's Corp.

"It seems that you have also improved a lot today," Raymond complimented the latter as he helped Enryu get back up to his feet. Enryu on the other hand, he let out a sigh when the Commander wasn't looking. Thankfully his plan so far had work out just fine. But he shouldn't let his guard down just yet, there is still possibility for a variable, though the chance is slim, it isn't zero.

"I can't see that though, I'm still unable to land any scratch on you after all," He said in response. As expected of a Commander who was known as one of Great Swordsmans in the whole continent, his technique alone was enough to overpower even Heroes. But there were rumors going around that he wasn't as good as his prime due to old age.

"No, you are without a doubt have improved tremendously since the first practice. If you put more effort in your practice, sooner or later you'll catch up to me in no time, that's for sure," He said before leaving me with a pat on my back. Looking at the departing figure, Enryu was deep in contemplation for a moment before deciding to leave.

While he was walking, he was also aware of that one particular gaze on him the entire time he was there on the open field. He didn't need to look around to know the culprit, it is none other than Isamu. Because the latter have always won the sparring practice with the Commander, unlike Enryu who lost every single time, he was somewhat smug about it.

But everytime he tried to provoke Enryu with his achievement, the latter would simply ignore his provocation, treating him like that of a child. After all, he really is a child. Who else but a child would be so dumb to showcase their full capabilities in a place still unknown to them? What, you like getting praised by the crowd? Then you're beyond help.

In the first place, being a hero is such a pain, Enryu thought. A Hero is required to be there to save everyone without any monetary reward for risking their life. He didn't know about others, but Enryu would rather be a Villain than a Hero if he were given choices. Plus, when one is a Hero, you're bound to meet troubles everywhere you go. This was the reason why he didn't want to prolong his stay with them.

"Hmm? Is this the beautiful garden that the students energetically talked about during the lunch break? I must have been deep in thought that I didn't watch where I'm going," Enryu murmured while observing the different kinds of flowers around the spacious garden.

Since he was already here anyway, he thought he might as well take the chance to rest. With that thought in mind, Enryu slowly walked toward the spot where he thinks is the most comfortable before lowering his body as he sits near a big and tall shade of tree.

"Since this world is not as polluted as my previous world, I guess it makes sense that the air I breathe feels quite refreshing, even more when there's Mana in the air."

"Your previous world? I see, you're one of the summoned heroes that the maids was gossiping about," abruptly, he heard a voice answering to his murmur as he looked up and saw a figure sitting on the thicker branch of the tree. She has a rare violet hair coupled with aqua-marine pupils, a smile would have decorated her pretty face quite well but unfortunately, her current expression was that of indifferent. But within those eyes, he can sense a bit of curiosity toward him.

"Who are you?" Enryu immediately starts questioning her the moment after he put up a distance from her while taking a battle stance just in case.

"Relax, I'm not your enemy. I'm also one of the residents of the castle, you see," She nonchalantly replied while still maintaining the same expression. For a moment, the garden was filled with silence as the two were currently in a staring contest as neither wishes to be the first person to speak. Shortly after, Enryu threw up the white flag as he sighed.

In actuality, the reason why he decided to take a rest is because he already senses her presence when he was observing the garden moments ago. Though that was the case, he acted surprised in reality in order to figure out whether she is an enemy or ally. He didn't actually care whether she was the former or the latter, but as one of the heroes, he had to act on it.

"Yes, I'm one of the summoned heroes, Takahashi Enryu, pleased to meet you,"

"I was right! Well my name isn't that important, but you can call me Freya. Can you tell me more about your world?"

At this moment Enryu didn't know yet that the girl who he assumed to be a simple tomboy would become someone so important in the near future. Nonetheless, he would have learned of her background in the future, but by that time, she would have already disappeared from the castle as a wanted missing person. And to think they would meet again, but in an unpredictable situation at that. Neither him nor God expect such outcomes.
