I started walking around the forest. My leg bloody and mangled, foot twisted the wrong way. ’I need to rest, but the fucking knights aren’t gonna let me do that.’
I should introduce myself to the readers. My name is Kaido, I am a demi human. My dad was a dragon and my mom was the daughter of a king, more specifically the King of Atario.
Atario was the center of a large continent that it reigned over. The king was a tyranical piece of shit. He didn’t like his son being a half breed as he called it.
He sent his best unit after me, The Retributionist. It was filled with the best magic users he had access too, I was actually close to them before he sent the order out to kill me. After all, I was their teacher in the end.
There were 5 members. Ozma, Salem, Crestfall, Tyria, and Kristean. Ozma and Salem were lovers and my best friends while also being my students. They knew where I was hiding, I told them because I trusted them so much.
The other 3 were the ones coming after me. They were all powerful magic users, even with my resistance to magic from the dragon side I was injured.
Enough of that though. I took refuge inside a hollow tree, trying to hide from any hunters sent after me. I looked out from the tree and saw animals gathering around, I took in the sight knowing I may never see it again.
I closed my eyes and leaned back, trying to restore some energy. I felt it getting lighter around me, I opened my eyes quickly.
I see a tall slim man, “So you found me, Crestfall.” He looked at me, eyes full of pity, “I must kill you. If I don’t then the bastard of a king will kill all of us.” I let a small smile on my face, “Have I ever let you down, Crest?” He shook his head, “Exactly. If you must take my head, I humbly request you record my goodbyes.”
Crestfall looked depressed at that, “I will, do as you must.” His eyes started glowing, “Projection Magic: Recording.” I looked at his eyes, “Hello, everyone who sees this. I'm afraid I’ve already been killed since you are seeing this.” He took a breath and sighed, “Ozma, Salem, please stay on the path of light. Don’t stray off it please. Tyria, Kristean, you are both beautiful young ladies, don’t overwork yourself and live your life as needed you are both strong willed and I believe you should finally admit your feelings for each other.”
He looked at the ground, sad expressions all over his face. “Oh and don’t die. I’m sorry I must leave you now, don’t blame Crest for this. This is my last wish, he will make it quick and painless for me on my own accord, but I suppose I should say my goodbyes. I’ll always be with you, watching over everything you do. I’ll truly miss you all.”
Tears were streaming down my face, Crest was heartbroken too. “End it already, Crest. Make my horns into 5 necklaces and give it to the others and yourself.”
Reluctantly, he prepared his sword, “I apologize. Please rest well, Kaido.” I hear the air split and then I feel nothing, ‘A shot to the heart, huh.’ I laid back in the dark space, ‘I guess I’m finally free from the world. I have long waited for this day.’
I feel the air shift, I look over and see a red headed lady, one of the most beautiful ladies I’ve ever seen. “Hello, who are you if I may ask?” A smile adorned her face, “Hello, Kaido. I am a goddess, the goddess of the void and souls, you may call me Savannah.”
I took in what I just heard, “Okay then, Savannah. What am I doing here?” The smile still sat on her face, she was wearing a black dress with white accents, perfectly showing all her curves in the right place, her face was unmatched and her hair was redder than the burning sun was orange.
“Well that’s a good question, you managed to somehow skip the reincarnation process, and as such I shall give you another chance with 3 wishes of your choice, if you want to return that is.”
I contemplated the offer, “What happens if I decline?” She quickly started to explain, “Well if you decline, I will most likely erase your memories and you’ll reincarnate as a blank slate.” This made it a lot easier, I don’t want to forget the Retributionist, they were like family too me.

“Well then, I thank you for this opportunity, Savannah.” She looked at me with that same smile, her crimson eyes staring into mine, “Well state your wishes, will you please. I am also allowed to transmigrate you if you don’t want to be a child.”
I smiled more at that bit of information, “Thank you, I guess as my first wish I want to stay a dragon human, but with even more power and resistance.” She nodded, “Easy enough.” I stated my second wish, “I wish to have incredible magic capacity.” She snapped her fingers, “Another easy one.” For my final wish, I took a breath, “I want to ask for ultimate adaptability, for example if I get hit with a sword or sharp object then I build a resistance to it, not too much at a time of course as it seems a bit too powerful if I instantly got immunity too anything.”
She smiled at that one which seemed to be a common trend, “Alright granted. Do you wish to be reincarnated or transmigrated, and do you wish to keep your memories or erase them?” I quickly replied before she could change her mind, “I wish to be transmigrated, preferably into a 16 year old strong body, I also wish to keep my memories in tact as they are what make me who I am.” She snapped once more and a portal opened up, “Be safe, Kaido. You shall face more hardships. Also the one in the clockwork tower is your ally.” I tilted my head in confusion, “Huh? Who is-“ I suddenly got sucked backwards into the portal.
‘Damn! I guess I can’t figure out who that is, but my gut tells me I’ll meet him soon.’ I saw foliage covering the sky, I slowly stand up. I see bushes around me and multiple little critters scurrying around, running from something.
Crunch
Snap
I turn to where the sound was coming from, it sounded heavy and moving decently fast. I quickly find something to use as a weapon, ready to fight. I assume a proper position as I wait for the approaching animal.
I realize I’m holding a stick, and with how heavy the animal sounds I’m worried if it will last. I decide against it and drop the stick, assuming a fighting stance. A large, black, bear with a white face mask appeared.
I prepare for it’s attack as it charges at me, “Quite weak for it’s size.” I dodge to the left and throw a axe kick down into it’s spine, I felt it could still fight and jumped back, avoiding its large paw.
I remembered I was a dragon so I took a stance and waited for it to charge at me, it did as I was expecting and charged my way. I grabbed it by its head and lifted it up, “The strong shall survive, the weak shall perish!” I slammed it down as it slowly started dissipating.
I feel weak, maybe this body is hungry
Gurrururururrr
Yup, it for sure was hungry. I quickly bounced tree to tree, looking for edible food. I soon find what looks like an orchard, a stone pathway surrounded by apple trees. I start grabbing apples before a voice rings out, “Hello there, why are you picking my familys apples?”
I looked towards where the voice resonated from, a blue hair girl with a red tattoo on her chest was standing there. Her eyes were beautiful and her curves were amazing. She had a cold look in her eyes.
Deciding not to pick a fight, I played dumb. “Or...chard?” She tilted her head, “Yes, an orchard. It’s a place filled with apple trees.” I faked a shocked look, “Oh, that makes sense, anyway who are you?” She seemed a little irked, “I should be asking you that, but my name is Esdeath Patras, what’s yours and who are you?” I liked the ring of that, “My name is Kaido Crestfall, and I have no idea about what I am, I know I’m a demi human though. I don’t remember much else besides that, only that I’m 16 and live in the forest.”
She seemed a bit shocked at that part, “I’m guessing you’re strong considering you survived in that grimm infested place.” I tilted my head at the unfamiliar term, “What’s a grimm?” She looked a bit shocked, but understood, “I’m assuming you’ve fought black creatures with masks. Those are what we call grimm. There are multiple types, wolves, bears, crows, scorpions, you name it there probably is a grimm version of it.”
I nodded, “Yea I fought the bear. It was weak physically but fast for it’s size.” She nodded, “I’m glad you agree with me on that one, most grimm are rather weak or we are rather strong.” I agreed with that statement, “Also do you need somewhere to stay? I’m pretty sure Naj wouldn’t mind company around and you seem like a good person.
I gave her a questioning look, “Are you sure? You’ve known me less than 15 minutes and you’re inviting me to live with you?” She just looked in my eyes with a plain look, “I believe if I wanted I could kill you. Me and Naj are strong enough to best anyone in the world.” I smirked, “I like that confidence. Let’s go I guess.”
She stood up and started walking, “So you said you were 16? Have you decided to go to become a huntsmen?” I tilted my head, “Huntsmen?” I heard a sigh, “Well I have a lot to explain.”
-45 minutes later-
We had been walking for a while and Esdeath had been explaining everything too me about the world and the things I should know. “Ah, we’re here.” She took herself to the door, and knocked on the door. A white haired woman opened the door, “Hey Naj, I brought a guest.” Najs violet eyes locked into mine, “Hello, I’m Kaido. You must be Najenda.” She nodded, looking at me.
‘I feel nervous, but it is what it is.’
