Hey Friends,
I hope all is well, and thank you all for waiting for me.
I'm very close to finally releasing the new story (details below). It took so long because I wrote over 30k words and discovered it wouldn't work in the first person. I went back and rewrote it all in the third person; by then, the story had evolved into something else. I think it's much better now, and I understand the writing better. Before I release it here, it could do with some feedback. If you're interested, I have ten chapters available for free on my Patreon; these will drop on Day 1 of the launch. If you have issues accessing them drop me a message and i will see what going on.
I hope you enjoy it :)
The Mechanical Mage
While delivering a parcel, Ben and his van are isekaied and integrated into an engineering system.
Suddenly, Ben is surrounded by a horde of giant scorpions who are hell-bent on his demise. Not knowing where he is and with no combat experience, he is forced to use his wits and driving experience to run them over. That is when his system unlocks a Mechanical Mage Class, which allows him to gain new skills and abilities relevant to running enemies over.
You could be reading stolen content. Head to Royal Road for the genuine story.
What this story contains:
Third-Person Narrative—This is my first time writing a full-length novel in this POV, so I might make some mistakes. (Sorry, peeps. Tell me where I went wrong so we can fix it.)
Slowish Burn Story: The pacing of this story will be a little slow at the start while the MC learns about the new world and grows in power. I plan for this to be a long series, with each book over 150k words.
The MC will run things over with a van! Although this can be limiting, there will be skills and abilities that will make it fun. There will also be situations when the MC is forced not to use the van and rely on his combat abilities.
Medieval Fantasy Setting with some Science-Fiction: The MC will join forces with an Order of Knights who trace their existence back to the Crusades to combat an unknown threat!
Later on, Dungeons, Crafting, and Kingdom Building!
What this story does not contain:
-Romance, harem, or adult scenes.
-Murderhobo plots (Does running things over with a van count?)
Schedule:
10 Chapter on launch
2 Chapters a Week (Monday and Thursday). I want to focus on writing a quality story.
Chapter Length: Average 2000 Words.
