Reincarnation of the Strongest Knight
Prologue 1: Death of the strongest

Prologue 1: Death of the strongest

The kingdom he wanted to protect was long gone. The people he wished to save were long dead. But despite all that, Hion Redrave continued fighting. Even with a missing leg, even with a broken arm, and even with his body numb from blood loss, he continuously swung his spear to his enemies.

He was in an open field and there were still tens of thousands of enemies left. His loss was inevitable, but that didn’t matter. His only remaining goal was to drag as much enemy as he could to hell. That was his final act as Arthas Kingdom’s strongest knight, and the deceased king’s closest friend.

The opposing army already killed Arthas kingdom’s ruler, but their soldiers' death would be in vain if they couldn’t bring the corpse of the man who decimated half of their army back to their kingdom. But they were starting to regret their decision as they watched their comrades fall one by one.

The enemy general told his army to keep a distance from Hion so the archers could slowly kill him. But even with one leg, Hion could follow his enemies. They could kill him along with the others, but he could dash to the archers if he survives their assault. Without knowing his limit, they couldn’t act.

Every time Hion swung his spear, dozens of men fell. Every time he killed, fear would be instilled in the hearts of his enemies. Why won’t he die? Why is he still so strong with all of his injuries? How much more will it take to kill him? Will he actually win against them despite their numbers?

Slowly but surely, their fear turned into despair. Why didn’t they run away when they had the chance? Why did they have to fight when they could just wait for him to die? Glory? Pride? None of those were equivalent to their lives. It was a mistake to fight him, and it was too late for regrets.

When they were reduced to a thousand, they all became living statues for Hion to cleave. A few dozen managed to run away, but the general stayed both because of pride and fear. He gained the confidence to fight back, but what does that change? His enemy was way beyond his level.

At that point, Hion was barely conscious. Even a veteran knight would’ve died a long time ago with such injuries. But he was able to accomplish his goal. Now he could die without regrets.

With the last bit of strength he had, he turned around to look at the city where his comrades fell and embedded his spear to the ground to help him stand up.

He recollected the memories he shared with them and shed a tear before dying with a smile. Even after death, he remained standing, showing his unreachable back to those who ventured into his kingdom.

That was the end of his life, but that was the start of his legacy.
