Dark surrounding and muffled voices, these are first thing Sebastian noticed after hist awaking. He couldn't move. He wasn't accustomed to his new body and he was also located in a tight, warm place. His mind felt sluggish and drowsy so he didn't immediately realize where he is.

Big bright screen covered his vision in addition to irritating notification sound 'Ding' reminded him about his death and reborn thing.
'Ehhh... So I will have to born again, why haven't I realized this earlier. I had an idea as I will just appear from thin air like heroes from fairytales.' he thought and fell asleep giving in to overwhelming drowsiness.
----------------------------------------
He was born in small village Eruyt. It was located on the northern outskirts of Thesien Kingdom, near the infamous Drasil forest. Village maintained mainly from farmlands. It was also furthest out place into the wood so sometimes expeditions of mercenaries or adventurers visited this place to set off into unexplored north. His parents were a couple of common people. Father was robust and strong and he often was helping in lumberjacking on the forest outskirt to earn some extra money for family. Mother on the other side looked after house and his four older siblings. Ye, four siblings it seems it was common in medieval society to build even more numerous families. Unexpectedly his parents named him Sebastian like in his last life. Brainwashing, fate, message in a dream, who knows how they figured it out. He was pleased with this, at least his name would remind him of his old self. Moreover, it turned out that this world also had stats and skill system similar to `Menu` which he obtained after his death. Everybody can use it and is treated like a common thing. It is called `System`, and it main task is to help them improve their progress in learning various tasks with skills.

"System skills" said Sebastian.
'Wirdly I can't access System of this world using only thoughts. I heard that people with wisdom more than 30 can access it like that, but maybe it's just rumors. Who knows in this underdeveloped place. There is nor library nor schools so it's hard to get any other than everyday knowledge.'
Skills

Sprint (lvl 2)
Temporary increase movement speed by 31% and increase stamina usage by 58%.
--------------------------------------------------
'yeee, thirteen years old, knowledge from previous life and I all acquired is one common skill lvl 2 sprint. I probably would think it's funny. But our village is in the middle of nowhere, field.. fields ... fields .... and forest mean Danger! Even talking with passing travelers is hard due to my age. Also helping with household tasks and on the farm is time-consuming. Moreover I haven't discovered if increasing stats is possible. I heard rumors that you can increase your level fighting with magical creatures, but again I won't risk my life looking for monsters with my fragile body. I should at least learn how to fight first.'

'That's right no levels and no additional stats, one thing that is changing is decrease of my stats due to body limitations.'
"Seba, what are you staring at so dull, again checking your skills?" Said a tall, slender girl looking at me with a lovely smile.
"yeee, you are right, I'm looking for something practical to learn"
"So maybe if u desire skills I could teach you have to sew" Armda said grinning even more.
"ehh I'm not talking about household skills, most of them useless unless you would want to make profession based on them like tailor"
"? what's wrong with tailor, it's prosperous job"
"yes, but that's pretty boring, I have dream about dragons and adventures"
"dream, heh you better wake up, dad said he wanted to remind you that at noon you are going to forest today, so you should meet with him next northern gate"
"thanks sister, I almost forgot, I pledged him for a long time. I better go off now so I'm not late" said Sebastian, walking to the gate.
Gate wasn't real gate it was just gap in palisade encircling the whole village, it wasn't guarded since there weren't any dangerous animals coming close to human settlements. It was mainly to designate the borders of the village. Only in winter when some lesser monsters wander outside the forest in search of food it is covered. Something akin to gate was permanently attached to block any entrance for few frosty months, it allowed villagers to leave just a few guardians at the south gate in this dangerous time of year.
Sebastian quickly arrived at the place where gates were located. It was almost noon so his father should soon join him and take him for his first trip to the forest. Slightly bored he sat looking at the people who were walking through the gate. There wasn't many of them but these were people making jobs in the village which require strength. Lumberjacks, hunters, few adventurers looking for lesser magical beasts in vicinity and sometimes alchemists looking for rare herbs. You would probably think that with so many strong people here you would have a great chance to learn many powerfull skills and technics how to fight and survive. Noooo you can't be more wrong, every of people from this world treats his skills and abilities as heritage. So, of course, you could learn what you want, but from one person no more that's the rule.
'Mmmm.. sitting there under the tree and waiting I've remembered these stories and films about monks sitting in Buddhist temples and meditating to obtain enlightenment or cultivators collecting chi in meridians to obtain immortality. I also got once book about something Buddhists inner peace from my friend but I didn't even open it. Who normally read these things. Anyway in most films to meditate you just need to sit and not move. That's easy still I have some time to waste, nothing to lose and maybe I can obtain immortal powers, why not. '
'I close my eyes, sitting under try, trying to feel this immortal power, Qi, mana or whatever else mages use in this world to power their spells.'
