It's a Monday night like any other week. The heat and the humidity which had been high for the last few weeks are making it very uncomfortable for everyone, rich as well as poor included, who are either brave enough or forced due to circumstances. In and around the road which is packed with traffic, the sound of honking of the vehicles along with dust and fumes coming from them combined with other pollutants from the city are making it hard to breathe as ever.
In one of the sites of the traffic jam, we can see the last bus on the route which is as overloaded as always with corporate slaves who are trying to reach home for the day, this bus was stuck in traffic in front of the bypass signal. Those who got a seat to sit in due to being one of the first ones or one of the lucky ones are comfortably listening to music using headphones while getting the late night breeze to keep them cool and comfortable, whereas the less fortunate ones are standing in rows shoulder to shoulder trying to be as comfortable as they can be in the situation, Among them, the most unfortunate ones are the middle row peoples where you are pressed from both the sides and don't have any place to store their bags.
Among them, we can see a fellow just like others with dull and exhausted expressions but he is taller than the others around him and a bit on the healthy side, while sweating buckets due to the heat and the lack of any airflow inside of the bus, he is trying to wiggle his hand into one of his pockets to check his phone. The time shown on the screen is 8:30, seeing this he started to panic, the next train he need to catch is scheduled to come into the station at 9:00 PM after which It was a 45 min wait for the next train, whereas time needs to reach the bus stop nearby the railway station from bypass where he is stuck is around 25 min if the bus does not get any traffic on the road ahead.
At 9:02 the bus came to the stop near the station, from the bus stop to the railway station. It's a 5 to 10 min walk. Along with other passengers coming from this and other buses, our guy also came out as fast as he could and started running for the station like others who also need to catch the same train, while they ran an announcement can be heard coming from the station of the arrival of the train in platform no. 2.
The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
Today is a full moon so the road and its surroundings are not as dark as they usually are. the small not so well maintained road had railway tracks on one side and a dense cover of the tree on the other side with no house or factory nearby, if it was a poet going through here alone with time on his hand, for him to take in the scenery then he is sure to make a great piece out of it, for the pure juxtaposition of the situation.
Alas, our guy is neither a poet nor has the luxury of time to admire the scenic beauty as he had a train to catch which was coming near with every minute passed. He ran as fast as he could safely without falling or bumping into others. As he run he saw the train come to the platform, then the people trying to disembark from it and the large no of waiting people trying to get in at the same time creating chaos, But with time everyone got on the train while pushing and pressing each other as a few fights broke out in some compartments.
As he came near the stairs to the station he heard the train sound the horn to signal its departure. Seeing these people who were running with him, some of them stopped their pursuit as they would not be able to reach in time, but others along with our guy started to run faster. as the train came to view he could see that it had started to move, like others near him, he also started to run frantically to get on the moving train.
Truth be told he is a very calm and a bit socially awkward guy but he is not rash like this, he always kept safety first for everything, but today is a bit different, today he has to reach home on time, he has too!!!.
As he caught one of the railings of the open door of the train, which by now is picking up speed, he tried to pull himself up to the lowest pedestal he was successful to pull one of his legs up but as soon as he went to pull the other one his hand slipped.
It felt like time had stopped. Then came the realization of what happened with it came the fear for his life so he tried to hold on to anything and anybody whom he could reach but by then he had fallen quite a bit and his legs were now below the platform. Then he felt a crushing blow all over his body his vision blurred, and he heard some disturbing sounds, as his conscience started to fade realization hit him that he is going to die, his life is going to end like this, he will not see his family anymore, he is not going to be able to go back on time today - not ever!!!!
