Reincarnated Into a Game in Impossible Mode? (RIGIM)
Chapter 2: Day One In Another World

Chapter 2: Day One In Another World

(Day 1)

7.45 A.M.

I'm still trying to organize my thoughts about what just happened.

I did not know how, or what the hell brought me to the world of Rainfall Disorder.

'I think it's because... I reincarnated into this world?'

But the last time I remember, I was still in the house. How could a truck hit me?

'Or... was it because I suffered a stroke?'

I think that theory is also quite reasonable because I was too lazy to exercise and I had a very unhealthy diet too.

And I think that after a few days of staying up all night playing Rainfall Disorder.

Even so, having a stroke at 22 makes little sense...

I also thought about the case where I fell into the space-time rift and got here. But when I look in the mirror, all I see is a completely unfamiliar face.

"System?"

"Status Bar?"

Still, no mechanical sounds or windows appeared.

This is strange indeed.

"So I'm not a Player?"

If that is the case, the system must immediately appear to assist and guide the Player.

What is more? I also don't belong to any of the main cast in the game either.

Because my appearance is very unfamiliar and not as handsome as the main characters.

Maybe I'm an extra...

'Oh no, not the extra, please.'

Rainfall Disorder has a pretty cool feature named Extra NPCs Randomized System.

To put it simply, it will randomly generate the extra NPCs. Even their names, races, status, appearance, and personalities are random to increase replayability.

So I'm 100% sure that I'm an extra.

Now that is a cliché!

Jokes aside.

There's one thing I've been wondering about for a while now.

'Could anyone tell me why this house is so freaking empty?'

I even went around the so-called "house".

Only then did I figure it out.

"I live alone in this tiny flat."

The flat only has 3 rooms: bedroom, bathroom and living room... which is below average.

The room was quite dirty and almost devoid of furniture except for an ordinary steel sword lying down in the middle of the bedroom.

My previous character must have been a swordsman, a poor of which.

I guess he is also an orphan.

Totally an original idea, isn't it?

Well, whatever. I should stop scrutinizing and insulting...

Because I'm not much different from him... except that I'm even older than him and even poorer than him...

Sigh. What should I do from now on?

Reincarnating to this world is possibly the worst choice ever.

'I don't know what I want to do, but I... know one thing for certain.'

'I want to survive.'

I don't want to die like a pathetic loser... again.

'I could use some speedrunning strategies to save time coming up with a plan.'

Now I really need to see my status bar.

Since without knowing my stats, I cannot make a good plan for the future.

Fortunately, although not as detailed as the Player's System, anyone can view their stats via their wristwatch,

'I almost forgot that. I think I should write some important information down just in case.'

I struggled to find the indicator on the watch.

"Oh, it's showing up."

A window appeared in front of my eyes, just like when the Letter of Admission appeared.

"Then the first line will be my name."

[Name: Amemura Ryoshu]

This is my Rainfall Disorder account name, right? Why did they choose this name instead of my real name?

This story has been unlawfully obtained without the author's consent. Report any appearances on Amazon.

Interesting indeed.

I will figure it out at another time. Now I should focus on other things.

The next line will be my stats.

The first one is the most important stat.

[Mana: (Null)]

"Sigh. I knew it."

When a Player creates a character, sometimes they will have no [Mana] at all.

[Mana] for some is probably not the most important factor.

But if I want to finish this game, Mana is undeniably one of the most indispensable stats. It helps the Player enhance all aspects of combat, whether the Player uses any weapon or none.

Players will see the differences between having Mana compared to not having Mana in the long run.

There were a lot of speedrunners who couldn't stand creating characters without Mana, so most of them had to delete characters and start over again.

And which, I don't have that option.

Fortunately, there are several ways to overcome this problem. The first is to use resources that are both expensive and slow to grow.

The second way is to exploit bugs and glitches, but...

'I am not a Player'

That's the biggest problem with me because only the Player can exploit bugs in the game, right?

This will affect my plans because almost every speedrun strategy will exploit major glitches.

So if I can't take advantage of game errors, then the percentage of finishing the game or surviving in this world will be significantly reduced.

However, I'm not sure yet.

'I have to try it to find out.'

The second thing, which has equal importance, is the [Main Stat].

[Strength (F-)

Endurance (F-)

Agility (F-)

Perception (F-)]

With such lousy stats, I am ‌just slightly above the average person and not very strong even when compared to other kids of this age.

Usually, those kids will be at the top of rank F and the beginning of rank E, so my character is just a toddler here.

Sigh.

Fortunately, these stats are stats that can easily be raised through practice.

No matter how bad things are, hard work can make up for it.

For the time being, I will ignore that problem and deal with it later.

Let's move on to [Secondary Stats] now.

[Charisma (Unranked)

Regeneration (F-)

Intelligence (F+)]

Great!

Luckily, my character has a high enough [Intelligence]!

One tip to play this game in the early phase is to buy passive skills to increase [Skill Experience].

But those skills also have certain requirements. Like having an Intelligence stat of F+ or higher.

"I have fulfilled the hardest condition!"

"Now I need enough money."

[Account balance: 100 RC.]

Sigh.

I didn't expect to enter the game and still be too poor and ragged.

100 RC is $100 in the real world.

RC, short for Reunited Coin, is the official currency of humanity managed by the Reunited Corporation.

It also requires at least 150 RC to buy those skills.

"Hmmmm."

I thought for a long time without coming up with an alternative.

"Or… do I need to go to the Black Market?"

The [Black Market] is ‌a place of illegal trading and buying without government approval.

It often takes place in the trading of taboo items, such as drugs, body parts, etc.

I don't like those kinds of environments but it seems like I don't have any choice here.

And as I have previously mentioned, this game's map is freaking huge.

The game is related to the [Spiral Academy], but the game does not restrict the Player at all.

You can still engage in the main storyline even though you don't study at the [Spiral Academy].

There are quite a few different choices, but Players usually choose 1 from 3 main paths in this game:

First, cadets can be heroes through 3 years of studying at the academy and another 2 years of training at the Reunited corporation.

Second, mercenaries: need to register at the Adventure Guild, do the mission, and slowly rank up there.

Third, villain: join the Divider organization or do whatever you like.

There are also many other forces that the Player can join or oppose, such as the Magic Council, World Tree Clan, and Underworld City.

Back to the main point, now I'm going to the Black Market.

'I wonder if I forgot something?'

* *

9.00 A.M.

After a while of struggling to walk to that place through the navigation software on the watch.

Why do I walk?

'...'

I walked to save my precious RC, okay?

I'll fix this financial problem in the future, but for now, I have to be strong enough to enter the academy without getting kicked out.

At Spiral Academy, they gave cadets sufficient money for food and other needs.

Although it has a dormitory, the school ensures students have more choices and feel comfortable as much as they can. That's why I said these academies are stupidly rich...

"Oh, I come to the right place"

After thinking about the plan while walking, I came to a small bar called Angels' Whiskey.

That place is one of the main branches to get to the place where the Black Market takes place.

I had already dressed at my "home" in a discreet outfit to hide my identity.

I put on a hoodie, put my hands in my pockets, and started walking into the bar.

When I entered the bar, everyone was looking at me with eyes that probed for my identity.

I have to admit that I'm also a little shaken in front of others' eyes, but I have to pretend that I'm very calm.

My teacher used to say "Fake it until you make it".

I gently walked over and sat down on a nearby chair.

The waiter, wiping the glass, looked at me and asked.

"What would you like to drink?"

"I would like a glass of [Joel's Madam]"

"…"

"Please wait a moment"

So the password is still active. Fortunately, it had not changed by the time I arrived.

The server, holding a glass bottle of wine, poured a glass and asked again.

"Do you want to use something else?"

Now that's easy, a plate of [Sweet and Sour Dragon Ribs], right?

"A plate of [Sweet and Sour Dragon Ribs]"

"Sorry customer, they are out of stock today"

'Oh! Damn it, am I wrong?'

It's been a long time since I've been to this place in the game, so now these codes are all messed up in my mind.

Now, if I say one more wrong sentence, they will kick me out of the bar.

'Hurry! Say something else!'

"No problem"

Ah, remember, it's that password!

"How about a plate of [Mapo Tofu]?"

'Please don't be wrong again! Please!'

"... Will you pay directly or use a bank account?"

In my heart, I breathed a sigh of relief.

"Direct payment."

The server waved, and another server came and bowed to me.

"Then, sir, please follow me."

I stood up and followed the waitress, who had just arrived.

After walking for a while in the corridor, the girl stopped and opened the door nearby.

"Please come into this room."

I entered the room, unfazed.

"Have a wonderful trip, sir."

And those were the last words I heard.

9.30 A.M.

Everything suddenly became quiet. Maybe this is the teleportation process.

I thought it would only take a few seconds, but I think the game developers simplify everything in the game quite a lot.

As soon as I finished teleporting, I heard the noise from the crowd.

When I opened my eyes, a whole slum appeared in front of my eyes, customers passing through each other like a flood. They were all walking without chatting.

'This place is so freaking gloomy.'

It made me feel so dangerous that I could not breathe properly.

Huff.

'I need to hurry.'

While searching hurriedly for the skill shop, I came across a stall selling some pretty weird jewelry.

'Oh, there was a pretty nice mask, though.'

It is really appealing, to be honest.

I bent down to pick the mask up and asked an elderly saleswoman.

"Grandma, how much is this mask?"

"That's 5 RC, kid."

"Yes, here you are, grandma."

I put on the mask, which somehow makes me feel quite comfortable and secure, because it hides all parts of my face.

After that, I went as planned.

While I was window shopping, someone suddenly grabbed my neck from behind.

"Oh, how familiar this mask looks, right? You little rat?" - A hoarse voice shouted right at my ears.

A short old man was grabbing me by the neck and he was brutally dragging me through the crowd.

Lots of people looked at me.

'Woah, I feel embarrassed as hell right now.'

'At least I still have the mask on my face.'

But wait, why does he look so familiar?
