3 - Is this God? + New Life

Hal guided his way along the silver thread, hoping to find an end to this unexplainable dark environment. He glided on and on for what felt like an eternity, but since he had no idea how to wake himself up from this weird lucid dream (he tried everything that he could think of, from pinching himself to punching himself where he assumed his balls would be, but since his body was now formless all of his efforts were futile), and since he felt like there was someone, or something waiting for him, he kept gliding on.

Finally, he thought he saw a light appear from a distance. It looked as if it was far away, but close to him at the same time.

‘What the fuck is up with this weird ambiguity?’ He thought, ‘It’s as if nothing in this world can be explained by words…’

As Hal closed the distance between the light that he saw from a distance and himself, the light gained more clarity. He noticed that it was a golden light, not like the goldenness found in jewellery and coins, but like the goldenness associated with angels and the like. With the divine. With…

God.

The light grew in size without warning and seemed to swallow the now formless Hal whole. Hal was blinded by the brilliance of the light, which made him reflexively close (what felt like) his eyes. After a moment he felt the light dim down, so he reopened his eyes.

The image Hal beheld stunned him.

There stood a gigantic knight-like figure clad in majestic golden armor. The sheer size of this figure overwhelmed Hal, as he felt like an ant in front of a T-Rex. This Being was holding a giant two-handed greatsword, which was pointed downwards. The most remarkable feature of this apparition was the structure suspended beneath it.

Millions, trillions, quadrillions… Nay… Many Googols [A/N - Googol = 10¹⁰⁰ if you didn’t know ;)] of long, glowing, golden thread-like structures arranged in the shape of a giant infinity symbol was pierced in the middle by the greatsword held by the knight-like Being. The most unbelievable feature of these threads was that each one of them felt… alive.

Almost as if each one of these threads represented the soul of a being living somewhere in the universe…

The aura emancipated by this Being warmed Hal from (what felt like) his head to toe. Hal was in awe of this great figure and was filled with a great sense of reverence, as if he was in the presence of a God. Hal tried to look at the face of this figure but felt himself repelled by an invisible force. Even so, he caught a glimpse of the lower region of the Being’s face. He was faceless. But he looked like he had the outline of a face beneath his helmet.

‘Is this God?’ Hal’s mind started finally responding after the shock he received from this apparition, ‘Is He the creator and the omnipotent existence ruling over reality?’

As Hal was lost in similar thoughts, The Being freed His right hand from the greatsword He was holding, and reached towards Hal. As the giant hand of this Being approached him, Hal felt his… core… shudder in humility.

The Being held the formless Hal from Its thumb and pointer fingers and lifted him. Then, It started moving Its hand in a rhythmic motion, first towards Its left shoulder, then towards Its right hip region, then towards Its left shoulder, and later towards Its left hip region. The Being repeated this motion several times, which left Hal perplexed.

‘Wha-?‘ His brain was just going to try to comprehend what The Being was doing to him when he got his answer at that exact moment.

Hal noticed that his formless body has now started to stretch like a thread!

His body grew in length and decreased in thickness with each long sweep-like motion of The Being’s hand. Suddenly, Hal felt his body warm up from the inside as if some form of energy was injected into him, and at that moment, without warning, The Being plunged Hal’s (now long and thread-like) body right into the giant infinity symbol made of countless golden threads…

Hal lost consciousness.

------------------------------—

‘Weird.’

‘Now where the fuck am I?’

‘Arghhh can’t open my eyes, feels like they’re glued up…’

‘Hold up… I have a body now! Wait… What are these noises that I’m hearing?’

‘…Voices?’

‘Sounds like someone is crying, and very loudly so…’

Hal felt his body constricted in a very warm and tight membrane-like structure. He realized that he wasn’t breathing, but still, he was alive…

Moreover, his body felt kinda sticky, like it was covered up in slime. Also, his body felt weird… and somehow, very small. At that exact moment, Hal’s extraordinarily perceptive mind figured out what was happening to him.

‘I’M A FRICKING BABY BEING BORN?’

He felt paralyzed for an instant. ‘So I died somehow… aaaand fuck it, reincarnation is a thing by the looks of it…’

‘Looks like I’ll have to go through another living hell of a life once again…’

‘How the hell did I die anyway? Also, I wonder why I still have the memories of my previous life…’

Hal felt his… new mother’s… womb muscles applying pressure on the lower region of his body. He felt his body deform a bit, and it kinda hurt, but it wasn’t too much of a pain.

‘Yo wait I’m literally inside a pussy am I?’ This thought flashed within Hal’s mind, and his virgin mind felt an exhilarating sense of achievement, but he nudged this feeling aside for a moment and started to wriggle his body to try and find a comfortable way to squeeze through his new mother’s kitty-hole. [A/N - Don’t judge my choice of words lmao]

His head made its way towards the… opening… and Hal felt his head deform under the pressure a little as well, but he ignored it and just pushed forward with all his might.

He was out.

The temperature difference from his mother’s interior to the room temperature hit him instantly, which made Hal feel dizzy. He could hear the voices around him very clearly now, but he focused on adjusting to this new environment for now. He felt the requirement to breathe kick in, which prompted him to start bawling out loudly. Breathing was a bit labored and painful at first, but the pain dissipated gradually.

Hal opened his eyes. A torrent of light fell on them, which made Hal squint.

Everything was blurry.

He could roughly make out that he was in a room which looked like a wooden hut, which made him come to the conclusion that he was home birthed, instead of in a hospital. He also discerned two feminine-looking figures who were saying something, but his mind was too occupied with adapting himself to his new surroundings, so he didn’t pay attention to their talk.

After a while, he felt himself familiar with the outside world, as his cries died down little by little. He felt himself being lifted gently by two hands and moved closer towards a face. This face grew clearer as the distance between it and Hal narrowed.

His new mother.

She was an absolutely beautiful blond-haired woman, the most beautiful one Hal had ever seen (from the memories of his previous life, obviously…), with skin that seemed to glow with warmth, and with gorgeous eyes that had a deep shade of blue, as in sapphires. She looked at Hal with such love and affection that Hal almost felt the intense depression he carried within his heart from his previous life die down instantly.

Hold up…

Why were her eyes kinda bigger than normal? And why did she have larger and slightly pointy ears?

Hal’s (now a little toned down) cries stopped instantly, as he was too shocked after seeing his mother’s facial features. He looked around at the other two women in the room and squinted his eyes as much as he can to try and see what they looked like.

Hiccup.

They also had slightly larger eyes and pointier ears.

Hal felt his heartbeat increasing at a fast rate. ‘No-no-no-no that’s impossible… Maybe these people have some sort of disease… or they’re from some sort of tribe with uncommon genes…’

He now paid attention to what the women were saying.

No language he had heard of before sounded like this.

Their clothing looked different. There was some weird (presumably medical) equipment that Hal had never seen the likes of before, placed on top of a cabinet with weird inscriptions written on it…

‘THERE’S NO FUCKING WAY I’M REBORN IN A FANTASY WORLD, FOR FUCKS SAKE!’
