Prologue

“Hold on a little longer!” I yelled as I’m trying to chop trough a wall with an axe to create a hole for the people on the other side. The fatigue I have accumulated from saving over 20 people from this apartment house started kicking in a while ago and my mouth feels so dry I feel like I could drink 5 litres of water on the spot.

I’m using all of my remaining strength to create a hole for the people left in this apartment to escape trough and I finally felt my axe pierce the wall. I enlarged the hole to be big enough for adults to pass trough and yelled out commands in the hole to get out one by one. After watching them go and run out of the building one by one, the last man, about 45 years old if I had to guess, started talking to me…

“Thank you so much fo...”

“Now’s not the time for that, if you know of anyone else still needing to be rescued then tell me!”

“T-there should be an elderly couple living in apartment 48”

Apartment 48 huh? That’s close, I can still make it if I hurry!

I took off and cleared the stairs with the axe and extinguisher I picked up from the lobby of the building. It was then that I realized I wasn’t feeling too good and felt an indescribable urge to lay down and sleep. I resisted with all my might but after a few steps I collapsed and slowly closed my eyes.

‘Huh, where am I, it’s so unnecessarily bright’ I was suddenly conscious and saw that I was in a vast white hall with glowing walls. It’s actually kinda hard to separate the walls from ceiling and floor.

"Hello Hajime Yamamoto, as you can probably tell by now, you have died. I am goddess Aphrodite and I was assigned to guide you to your new life.”

I turned around and saw what I would undoubtedly call the most beautiful woman I have ever seen. Not only was she wearing white, thin garment that barely covered the important parts, her midnight-black hair reached down to her waist and the deep-blue eyes which stared at me, combined with her pink, small lips enchanted me and I realized I was staring at her rudely only after she called for me.

“Hajime, is something wrong?”

“U-ugh… s-sorry, please forget about that. You said that I died but what happened? I don’t remember dying…”

“Carbon monoxide poisoning. You went a bit too far with your rescue mission.” She said and gave me a warm, sincere smile.

“Oh… I was sure I could keep going.  Anyways, what happens after death? I’m assuming I go to heaven since I haven’t done any crime in my life.”

“Indeed, heaven is one of the three choices you have, the other two being reincarnation to a different world and the last one is reincarnating to your current world without any memories. Normally people only get to reincarnate into their own world until they accumulate enough points to enter heaven, but your soul already contained almost enough points to reincarnate to another world and adding the points you gained during your last hour on earth, you can even reincarnate to a different world which is rare to see!”

 For some reason, she seemed to be very excited about the reincarnation to a different world, atleast judging by how her eyes look at me like I’m a new toy to fiddled with.

“Can you explain my choices more elaborately?”

“Very well, I’ll start with heaven. You are granted immortality, you get to be with your loved ones who you knew in your previous lives and you are given your own land. Basically, it’s a very boring fate, you can’t even do kinky things since you don’t have a physical body, like you don’t have own right now, you’re only a blur of light! So don’t go to heaven or I’ll hate you! Choose reincarnation to a different world!”

“Hah? What kind of explanation is that supposed to be? And why would you hate me for going to heaven? What’s so good about the other world that you want me there?”

“See, beings with so many points like you are very rare to come by, so If you go to heaven I can’t spectate your life when I get bored! And this other world I’m talking about isn’t anything like the modern earth you are used to. For example, they have magic, swords, monsters, magic, different races, kingdoms and MAGIC! And with your points you would literally be a cheat! Not only that, but you also get to keep your current memories!”

“Okay okay, I get it, so I can use the points remaining after reincarnating to the other world to give me cheat-like powers. T-that does sound very attractive. Though I don’t like the idea of being someone’s personal entertainment box…”

“Reincarnating to a new world it is! I’m glad we’ve come to an agreement Hajime. Now, let’s use your points to create your new body, it will use a large portion of your remaining points but believe me, it’s worth every single point. After that we can use the remaining points for skills or talents.”

While I was wondering about how many points I started with, the landscape turned to a dark room with a long table and bright light illuminating the center. On the table was laying a body with no face nor genitalia… it looked extremely creepy.”

“I even get points for skills and talents after making a new body… Just to be clear, how many points do all these things cost and how many did I start with?”

 “Erm… On average, people in your world rack up about 50 points in a lifetime and to enter heaven you need 200 points…”

“And? How many points did I originally have?”

“1752”

“I can’t hear you!”

“1752…”

“…”

“…”

“… How many points did I use for reincarnating to another world? And what about being able to create my own body?”

“1000 for reincarnating to a new world and 500 for the new body thing…”

“You… you scammed me, no matter how you look at it, those choices are overpriced to the extreme!”

“No! Believe me, it’s worth it, you keep your memories and you can have any body-type you want. I’ve seen 2 people create their own bodies before and even I was envious!”

Haa… Whatever, what’s done is done, also keeping your memories sounds comforting. She doesn’t seem to be lying or making a fun of me anyways.

“…So, how does this work? I mean do you transfer my consciousness into the body after we are ready or what?

“No, you will be reborn and this body will be just an illustration of how you will look like on your 16th birthday. You also can’t change how you will look like after you confirm you want this body, by this I mean you can’t get neither skinny or fat.”

“I see...”

“Anyways, let’s start on choosing the race and gender”

Aphrodite listed different races like, humans, dwarves  beastkin, elves, orcs and demons. She also mentioned that humans, dwarves and beastkin are allied but they aren’t friendly with orcs or demons. Demons and orcs only own a small country together in a northern continent where they were forced after losing in a great war where humans from different kingdoms worked together to summon heroes from another world 60 years ago. Elves on the other hand were a neutral race who hid themselves and lived by themselves in a forest far away from conflict.

“Aphrodite, I want to be an elf!”

“Elf, huh? Very well, I’ll change the body to a pre-set and we can start from there.”

The body suddenly grew a face and genitalia, but there was one thing wrong with it.

“Girl…”

“Huh”

“I said that I would prefer to be…uuu… a girl…”

"Ara Ara~ Ufufu~ but of course, i won't judge."

The body suddenly did the necessary changes to be called female and i felt my heat up. Uuu... so embarrassing, but i really want to experience being a girl... and don't try to tell me you haven't given it a thought once or twice.

Yosh~ Let's do this, i'll make an amazing body that will turn me narcissistic in no time!

It's been 56 hours since i started creating my own ideal body with the goddess of love and beauty herself! And i have to say, the results are very... impressive. Yes, impressive indeed. I didn't get tired because i don't currently have a physical body. so i got to spend every single second of the time i spent making sure every detail was perfect.

"Aphrodite... this is... indeed worthy of 500 points, no i would say it would be worth 15 lifetimes of work to acquire a body like this..."

"See, i told you it would be worth it! Hmph!"

Huh, she seems angry for some reason... could it really be that she is envious of this body? Maybe it's just because she is tired, or maybe it's because i didn't belive her at first.

"I'm done confirming and everything is how i want it to be so let's get done with the skills and talents quickly, i can't wait until my 16th birthday with this new body of mine!"

"Haa... sure, you have 252 points left to spend for skills or talents. Talents are things you are naturally born with, like affinity for certain type of magic or resistance to magic or poisons. Skills are something you can acquire by simply learning and practising or discovering, for example swordsman skills or magic spells. If you choose to spend points for skills then the knowledge will be engraved in your brain when you are born. Since elves have natural talent for healing magic, i recommend increasing your affinity for it and after that you should get increase your affinity for space-time magic since it allows you to store items in an inventory so you don't need to physically carry anything heavy. I highly doubt you will carry anything more than a dress with that weak, girlish and annoyingly cute body of yours! Hmph!"

"Healing magic and space-time magic? Got it! One last thing though, is there magic for helping me understand languages?"

"You will automatically understand any languages you read or hear with the blessing i bestowed on your soul, that's why you are able to understand me right now."

"Really? Thank you so much for the help you've given me aphrodite! That's all i needed to know, i'm now ready to leave to the other world!"

"I understand. I wish you luck in your next life. Goodbye, hajime."

"Goodbye!"

'What a nice goddess she was' i thought as my consciousness was slowly fading dark.
