A New Beginning

I woke up from my sleep, but the bed was so warm and comfy that I sat there for a minute. Judging from the darkness outside, it was still dawn. I got out of my bed with a bit of reluctance and opened the window to let the morning breeze come in. I leaned forward towards the windowsill as the cold air trickled my face. Seeing some knights waking up soldiers for morning practice, I felt motivated as well, and the small amount of drowsiness that I had left my body.

After completing my morning routine, I went for my training. The knights and soldiers I saw from my window were performing the third basic sword stance of Imperial Sword Art. As they saw me, every one of them stiffened, but now for me, it has become a normal occurrence.

I can only imagine what kind of horrible acts I have done to these people to warrant such action. Well, to be more specific it was not me, but the person I'm possessing right now.

William Von Algrand, the final boss of the game that my company created 'THE SWORD OF PANDEMONIUM'. This was the game that made me a Billionaire and also the game which contributed in taking my life.

A knight came forward and knelt before me and his unit did the same. He must have been the leader of this unit.

"Knight Captain Elric Eclair greets Young Lord!'

I nodded my head and left them, feeling sorry for not responding. But if I spoke any more than that, they would get nervous. I had seen it. Besides Elric, others were uncomfortable. If I stayed any longer it would only make things difficult.

Being an Entrepreneur and a Businessman, I know communication is key to winning people's hearts. But if people already have a bad impression of you, no matter what you do after it will never change. But I also know that is only applicable to fools. People's perceptions can indeed be changed, but it requires elaborate scheming. But currently, I don't have the money or manpower to accomplish this.

I trained and trained until I heard the sounds of nature. My biological clock says it's 9 a.m. Looking around I saw the whole training ground was in shambles, because of my sword aura. A feat that in this world, only a 'Master Swords-man' could accomplish. A perk of being a Last Boss and God's gift.

Before my reincarnation, I was an Agnostic person with a mild Atheistic view, believing that even if an omnipotent existence like God does exist, will they truly take their important time for creatures like humans?

But I was wrong. Gods do exist but they don't care as much as how the people portray them to be. They call themselves Administrators, and their job is to oversee the General Workings of all Sentient Lifeforms from Birth to Death. No doubt they were beautiful and majestic, but something felt off, they felt similar to an A.I.

I came to know that in Heaven or wherever this place is having high Karma matters, as it decides your next reincarnation. Being a businessman, I naturally had blood on my hands, be it giving a contract to kill an eyesore or a fellow competitor or coercion

But one day when I met with a car accident no one came to help me. I had no right to be sad about it.

This happened on that particular day due to various coincidences. But I'm quite sure it was orchestrated.

Being in the twenty-second century at the peak of human development and civilization, humans have forgotten Humanity itself. People were ignoring my blood-soaked body like I was an insect on the side of the road, struggling and twitching.

In my mind, I contemplated that this should be a fitting end to a bastard like me, but just as I was resigned to my fate a group of homeless guys came and saved my life.

Being near the death door, I came to realize how insignificant my life was. The people who were bottom feeders in my eyes saved me, naturally, this experience changed my life. I wanted to do something for the community and the world at large.

I was no scientist who could research a cure for cancer, all I had in my hands was a company that I painstakingly created.

The Game 'Sword Of Pandemonium' which was an immersive RPG game was making me millions of dollars every month.

I concluded the money I had was made by me to live a good life, Since I have already completed that wish what's the point of making more?

In a public speech, I declared that I would sell all my assets and donate them, and all the money that my company earned through the sale of the Game would go to donations as well. I don't know how, but the next day the sales of the game tripled.

But as they say 'The nail that stands out gets hammered'. I had never consulted about this to my shareholders, I thought since I have more than 57% of the hare I could make decisions on my own accord.

Boy, that was a huge miscalculation on my part, something which I would have never made if I was in the right state of mind.

In a capitalist society, there is no place for emotions and empathy. There is only one rule and that is making more and more Profits. Alast even after 5 board meetings I did not revoke my decision and even signed a Will so that the property and money that I had would go to charity.

But the next year Fate played a trick on me as I was killed by my driver, a driver to whom I gave money as his Child's University fee. I vividly remember the expression on his face and the words he said.

 "You should have listened, sir!"

As he pointed a gun at my Glabella. I was not able to understand.

How did things go haywire all of a sudden?

Was I truly wrong to think of the world at large and not about individual gain?

I don't think anyone has the answers to that. But after a keen observation, I have to say that

'Humans are the embodiment of two polar opposite powers, Masters of Depravity and Saints of Virtue.'

In Heaven, I thought surely I would be sentenced to Hell for eternity. but was surprised to know that it was not the case at all. I was told by the Angels in a monotone voice that I had enough Karma to get reincarnated into other planets.
