Riley slashed through the monsters; squeals filled the air. He stood there below the troll; the troll clenched its wooden club laced with spikes. It smashed its club on the ground; Riley dodges. The troll lets out a hollow screech; it keeps swinging its club around. Riley dodges; he needs a way to get closer to the troll. Riley slipped under the troll’s leg; he slashed the troll’s heel. A horrid screech blared from the distance. Riley covers his ears.
He looks in that direction; his eyes widen at the sighting. It was a B-rank Cyclops; he felt something swinging in his direction. He guards his head with the crummy sword; his body slams against the wall. He crashed through the wall, and debris splurged everywhere. He looked around his environment; it was a small shop. The shelves tumbled on the floor as cans and items scattered across the floor. He looked at the troll, who was now snickering.
Riley picked up the sword, which had half of its blade cut off. “Tch! This sword is useless now,” Riley said as he tossed the sword away. He’s temporarily safe for now; he needs to get another sword. He runs out of the shop; the troll swings its club at Riley. Riley ducks and rolls on the floor; the troll starts running after him. Goblins start pursuing Riley. “I’m so dead! I’m so dead!” Riley ran for his life; the goblins started catching up to him.
[Hell’s Overture]
Riley rolls on the floor as a giant beam of fire decimates the goblins. It was Charlie again—the second time she saved him. “Why haven’t you evacuated?! Leave the area, now!” She demanded as she burned the kobolds and goblins. Riley stood up and started running out of the area. He looked back at the massacre; men, women, monsters, and even children were killed. Riley looked on the ground as he continued to sprint.
Stomp!
Riley’s body evaded the Cyclop attack. It’s the Cyclops that Riley saw earlier; Riley narrows his eyes. It had a wooden club clenched in its hand. Riley had no weapon or anything to defend himself; he is screwed. Ryan looked around the battlefield and spotted a sword. He quickly bolts towards the sword and picks it up. The cyclops sauntered over him. The ground shakes with each step. Riley rushes at the Cyclops with the sword. He penetrates the Cyclops' skin; his eyes widen. It didn’t penetrate; it couldn’t. The sword can barely cut its hide.
He realized that he couldn’t live up to his past. After all, he’s just an ordinary civilian; he hasn’t awakened or never will. All he could do was stand there quietly; the Cyclops snickered as it rose its club. The club smashes Riley’s face towards a nearby store; his body smashes through the window. The glass cuts Riley’s body. The only thing he could defeat was E-rank goblins; that’s all he could ever defeat. Riley didn’t have enough motivation to get up. Riley’s body stayed motionless on the hard, cold floor. He looks at the sword that used to represent his reputation in the past. It’s all meaningless now.
Stolen from its rightful author, this tale is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
Riley’s hand grabbed the sword’s handle. He slowly rises from the floor, his hair in a mess. He stepped through the window—soft crunches are heard from the glass shards. He looks up to the Cyclops; a human will never be stronger than an awakened. Everything he lived up for had crumbled away; he may have experience, but even a D-rank Hunter can beat him by sheer power. He would rather die fighting than die running. Riley dashed toward the Cyclops; each swing from the sword caused zero damage. Riley couldn’t help but laugh; tears filled his eyes. Each swing didn’t even graze the Cyclops' skin. Desperation filled each swing of the sword.
The Cyclops slowly raised his club; it smashed Riley’s head. Blood splattered onto the club; a crater formed. Riley’s face pulverized into the ground; his fingers twitched; his eyes slowly fluttered open and shut. The Cyclops raised its club again. It smashed the club down.

Riley’s body rolled away. He grabbed the sword from the floor. He stood up quickly and looked at the cyclops. He narrowed his eyes.
Item Equipped!
Riley’s hair flowed with the wind; the Cyclops turned their head to look at Riley. It swung its club, but Riley graciously dodged out of the way. He analyzed the Cyclops movements; one slip up can cause Riley his life. He positioned his sword at a jabbing position.
[Pierce]
The sword had finally penetrated the Cyclops' skin; blood slithered down Riley’s sword. Riley pulled out the sword; the sword jammed inside the Cyclops’ stomach.
[Hack n Slash]
Ryan looked at the Cyclops. Hundreds of cuts engulfed the Cyclop's body; blood stanched the air. Riley gripped his sword; he moved his back leg backward, and he prepared for his ultimate attack. His shoulders slumped as he steadied his breath.
[One Slash, One Life]
In one quick slash, the Cyclops’ body is cut in half, so he thought. He looked at the handle of the sword; the blade itself was gone, the sword lodged in the Cyclops’s stomach. He needed a better sword to kill the monster.
You have inflicted [Bleed]!
Riley looked at the monster’s body; cuts and blood marked its body. The Cyclops clenched its wooden club; it rushed at Riley. Riley dodged its attack. All he needed to do was wait for the Cyclops to die from blood loss. Veins surged through the Cyclops’s body; with each swing, the Cyclops got desperate.
Thud!
The Cyclops has fallen; blood slowly fills the ground.
