A Fresh Start

Wuulph stood there, his back flush against the bark behind him. The faint streams of light coming from between the trees barely illuminating his view in the dim woods. He was cornered, no way to escape, his hunter's presence known but not seen. Wuulph had come here for training, which he didn't regret, but he does wish that he'd been less cocky. A light growling held his attention as he tried to pinpoint where the beast was, a pair of eyes coming into view as the head of a wolf emerged from the darkness. With a staff in his hands, though it was hardly worthy of such a designation, being hardly anything more than a stick picked up from the ground, the young witch started reciting his magic. Closing his eyes as he felt the mana he'd been working so hard to take in start bending to his wishes, "Mahjurikz Knyll Nagh, Aviiu!"(Ma-jer-ick Nill Na-agh, A-view!)

Wuulph felt the energy leaving him, needing more than he'd usually have to fulfill his desires, as small green tendrils came from beneath the beast, wrapping themselves around it and pulling the head down as if bowing to its master, the wolf struggled trying to free itself from the grassy grasp as the tentacles started to stiffen, becoming more grey in colour as Wuulph let out a light sigh. Reaching into his pocket the human grabbed his trusty knife, the only actual weapon he knows how to use, and started approaching the captured hunter. The wolf's struggling started producing cracking noises, similar to when something emerges from beneath rubble, as the exceptionally tough grass restricting it started to weaken. Seeing his magic faltering, Wuulph quickened his pace, bringing his sharpened blade low as he dropped his staff, reaching his other arm slightly up to defend in case it tries to bite him, aiming the knife through the beasts eye he whispered a single word, "Mahjurikz." As a lesser amount of mana left his system Wuulph watched sharp metal emerge out the other end of the beast's skull, pulling his blade across he made sure to kill the wolf as he removed his knife. Watching the tool, slightly longer now, start to crack in half as it broke, Wuulph sheathed what remained attatched to the handle.

Breathing a sigh of relief he lifted up the wolf. Or at least he tried, Wuulph did not have the same upper body strength as his brother so instead he just had to drag it away, it would ruin the fur and likely a good portion of the meat but that was better than leaving his kill for something else. The grass crumbled around the wolf's corpse as Wuulph began dragging it away, talking to his prey, "Well, weren't you tougher than expected. Don't worry, next time I'll come better prepared, dad wouldn't let me otherwise. But hey, that's just part of training, and this place is right about dense enough to birth a fucking monstrosity, ain't it friend?"
