Chapter 3: Cavebase - Make a Cave a Home

Hello again! Long time no see! Sorry about the delay in chapter but I was planning on making a map with some details to go with it but I am distracted very easily and have been playing swtor a lot lately and have not done much about the map. Though Good news! I have a chapter here and soon there will be another. Enjoy!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As soon as the cage was open it was turning night and I was hungry. I crawled out of the cage and was met by a lush green forest. It was obvious that I had been dumped in the middle of nowhere, to die no less.

My first priority was food, I had to find berries or something to keep me alive. Next was shelter then warmth and protection.

I stood up and started to go though some nearby bushes to find food. I found some edible foods named 'Dragon Berries' and 'Drowning Berries' which are native to lands near small mountains and hills.

When I was picking the berries I notices that my arms were a bit bulkier, more like a man’s arm. Which got me to the revelation of what the stone said was the truth. I was indeed a man. Was is a Poly Potion? Even if it was it wasn’t going to be a good one, for good ones change the names even the truth cannot be determined by divine beings… I better not dwell on it too much.

I started to follow the grass toward a mountain using a survivalist trick I was taught back in the capital. I will be honest I never thought I was going to need it, unless things took a turn for the worse. Worse than it already was that is…

Anyway, about half an hour after following grass and eating berries while gathering them on the way I found the mountain and a cave. Shelter, check!

Inside the cave there were basic furnishings and a blacksmith's station with pretty good looking materials. In the corner of the entry room were bones of a dead man. It sure does make for a good deserted look to the place along with the dust… It must have been deserted for centuries before I found it.

Just outside off the cave was a well, it was not dried up so I took some water in the bucket and started to drink…

“Eww!”

Not good at all… Then again it isn’t the palace so it is to be expected.

It was dark so I went back into the cave and started to sleep. My dreams were filled with death… and a lot of it my sisters, my mothers and a whole lot of other people. I was strangely calm; it gave me a sense of security… I woke up laughing, I don’t know why but it was hysterical.

Then it dawned on me that I had no door to keep away wanderers or creatures looking for a meal, thankfully nothing came in the night. I went off to the blacksmithing station and started to see if I could forge a sword…

Stolen from Royal Road, this story should be reported if encountered on Amazon.

All in all I think it went quite well, I made a sword with an iron, black tinted blade and a silver hilt with gold encrusting’s on depicting the fall of the Queendom. A single shoulder pad made from silver and a pair of gauntlets with gold trims. I also made an abundant of sword and other weapons and shields, as well as some armor made from ‘Molybendium’ because you never know when or if they will break. I was very tired by then and decided to once again go to sleep.

I went to bed with a smile on my face hoping that the same dream would come again. The night was quick and I was woken up, in the morning? Maybe. By some people dressed in robes and armor, there was a bulky man, a woman wearing white robes and a smaller man wearing leather armor. It seemed that only one of them was armed, the girl with a staff with a jade in the top.

At the entrance was where they were waiting. I was still wearing my clothes from yesterday because the cave was not very warm without the forge on. The adventurers whispered quite quickly as if they were worried but there was on reassuring voice throughout the crowd which seemed to calm the other two a bit.

I walked to the door while the two men had semi-worried looks on their faces

“Hello” I said in an indifferent tone

“Hello” the voice came from the woman

“We are here to see the blacksmith here, is he in?”

“In the corner I suppose… But you may not like it”

The group had a confused look on them as I shown them to the pile of bones in the corner which I had yet to clean up. When I shown them they looked worried more so did the men who must have been here to procure weapons.

“Do you mind if we could buy some of his old weapons, if there are any?”

“There were none when I got here, though I did make some myself. If you wish you could take a couple of those”

The men seemed a little reluctant to take them at the start but they soon came to the conclusion that they have no choice in the matter and agreed. I went to the forge and got them a great sword with a gemstone in the hilt and daggers which were made from a dark steel.

I went back into the room and gave them the weapons. They gave me a purse of gold coins in return and left heading towards what I think is the capital. I went back to the forge to start forging more shields and armor and went back to bed.
