The alphas reached an agreement in their own language and then nodded towards the human, indicating for him to proceed, assuring him that they could make the most of the breach he could create in the wall.
Alex then set to work on a ritual to create the breach in the defenses. For this purpose, he needed to be close to the motionless wall for an extended period, so various different packs positioned themselves nearby, both to witness the action and to protect him.
Drawing circles around and thrusting his sword into a certain position, Alex began reciting a personal enchantment that allowed him to manipulate and concentrate his power.
In this ritual, he needed to extensively use one of the unique qualities of ash energy, which was the reason he could affect the wall when no one else could—ash energy could suppress any curse.
Alex, who now had an energy reservoir he had been working on for some time, as well as newly created energy channels, still lacked one of the fundamental aspects in the foundation—energy nodes, the final step at this level. These nodes were important because they acted similarly to electronic components, allowing you to accelerate or decelerate the flow of energy, moderate or increase it, and perform all sorts of actions with your energy much more quickly.
The problem was that Alex was at a crossroads. He currently possessed two types of paths in which he could cultivate: ash energy, which was an energy he had a natural affinity for to the maximum, but lacked parts and needed to be understood and developed gradually; and on the other hand, Forest's Sigh, an energy that also had a great affinity although not complete, but had the advantage of having an even greater portion of the knowledge to progress further, plus the necessary resources were in this very forest.
The human needed to channel and transform all the energy by himself, which decreased efficiency and created a great burden on his body. Therefore, he didn't expect to be able to sustain the breach for a long time.
In the end, Alex couldn't make a decision about which path to take, as it would have permanent consequences in the long term. So, he made a weak mixture of both, leading to this ritual placing a great burden on his body and energy reservoir.
Over time, the Rift Abomination noticed the source of strange energy accumulating on their border and began to feel that something was wrong with it. They sent their hordes to eliminate it.
The war resumed, but due to the proximity to the Abomination's domain, all the void spawn were strengthened, making the battle much more difficult.
For a good hour, both sides clashed claw to claw, and although thousands of void spawn could be eliminated per second, there were always three thousand more to take their place.
"I'll be ready in 2 minutes," the human suddenly said.
At that moment, the alpha of the moon stalkers, enveloped in a silvery glow, began his final transformation. The change was spectacular, and the intensity of his power could be felt on the battlefield. His fur acquired a silver shine, and his three tails extended with heart-shaped stingers that sparkled with mystical light.
The alpha's ears became more pointed, and his gaze, now illuminated with a silver glow, emitted an aura of majesty. On his silver skin, mysterious symbols began to appear, forming patterns that seemed to dance with the moonlight.
The alpha's claws lengthened and shone with a silver glow. As he activated his dominance, the environment itself responded to his call. A silver mist spread from his presence, enveloping everything around him. The wind seemed to obey his wishes, carrying with it distant echoes of a celestial howl.
The impact of the transformation was evident in the battlefield. The void spawn, even the feared Rift Abomination, felt the change in the balance of power. The enemy hordes redoubled their efforts, and the Rift Abomination also began to deploy their dominances and initiate their transformations, but it was already too late.
Suddenly, Alex pulled his greatsword from the ground and with a horizontal slash destroyed a large portion of the dome. To maintain this breach, he had to hold his position and continue supplying energy to the ritual power circles while resisting the immense backlash from the Rift Abomination.
At that same moment, the moon stalker disappeared without a trace.
It was a brief moment, but the stalker was already in the center of the dome and with a single attack had managed to eliminate one of the Abomination.
Quickly, he began wreaking havoc on the enemy formation in a combat sequence that was so fast that the occupied Alex didn't have time to glimpse it.
Finally, Alex heard a deep voice again that seemed to come from everywhere.
"Enough, human, good job."
The resounding crash echoed far and wide across the battlefield as Alex, exhausted by his efforts, was thrown backward, rolling on the ground like a pawn on the board of a titanic war. The brief one-minute period in which he sustained the breach resulted in a transcendent change: the alpha, shrouded in the glory of his triumph, had annihilated two Rift Abomination and gravely wounded another. The balance of power, which had previously hung in a precarious equilibrium, tilted vertiginously in favor of the forest packs.

In the center of the dome, the earth trembled with the release of power. The creatures that still stood unleashed all their accumulated fury, a torrent of energy released in an instant. The alphas, indomitable leaders, unleashed transformations that eclipsed the moon and activated ancestral dominances, ready to lead the final offensive that would resonate in the chronicles of the forest.
Simultaneously, the Rift Abomination, shaking off the initial surprise, deployed their dark dominances. Twisted shadows rose from the ground, distorting reality around them. The void spawn, driven by infernal energy, multiplied like uncontrollable plagues, defying even the darkest expectations.
In the midst of the fray, the alpha of the moon stalkers reappeared, now in an even more formidable form. His attacks were a whirlwind of silvery light, cutting through enemy ranks with supernatural precision. Each strike was an ode to skill and mastery in the art of combat.
As time passed, the battle reached mythic proportions. The ground trembled with the fury of clashes, and the night sky lit up with bursts of power. The portal, though incessantly spewing out new troops, showed fissures, signs of the invaders' weakness against the onslaught of the forest packs.
Throughout the gruesome spectacle, both Alex and Princess Ley had begun to slowly sink into despair. There was a horror that clung to their chests, making it difficult to breathe. Seeing such great and ancestral power pay such a devastating price to rid themselves of the enemy was simply horrifying. The princess knew that if she were the empress and had to pay this price, her empire would be immediately destroyed. On the other hand, Alex knew that he couldn't make a dent in the invading army.
When they were finally less than 5 kilometers from the portal, and the alphas prepared for a joint strike to kill the remaining Rift Abomination and finally close the portal, a sudden change occurred.
Throughout this time, there had been a kind of throne near the portal that no one had apparently noticed. This represented a powerful being that had not yet taken sides in the fight.
With the dangerous speed at which they approached the portal, this being stopped saving energy and decided to manifest itself.
Slowly, the throne began to melt and turn into a tar-like liquid, bubbling as if it were burning. Gradually, a being began to form, one that should not exist in this world—an ancestral being whose name caused panic and whose presence evoked an ancestral terror deeply impressed into every living being—an Eldritch Horror.
The sight of that ancestral being began to unleash a wave of horror that spread like a dark shadow over the battlefield. Princess Ley and Alex, although accustomed to facing powerful creatures, felt an overwhelming pressure in their chests, and a shiver ran down their spines witnessing the manifestation of the Eldritch Horror.
Its form was indescribable, an amalgamation of twisted tentacles, blinking eyes in discordant patterns, and a presence that defied human logic and understanding. Every contour seemed to blur, as if the creature existed in dimensions beyond mortal comprehension.
The alphas and the packs, who had been engaged in a fierce battle until that moment, suddenly stopped upon feeling the arrival of this being. A sepulchral silence seized the battlefield, broken only by the hissing whispers and unintelligible murmurs emanating from the primordial entity.
The Void creatures, the void spawn, trembled in the presence of the Eldritch Horror, as if recognizing a superior force, something beyond their own dark nature. Even the Rift Abomination, who until now had arrogantly defied the forest packs, retreated before the unfathomable darkness emanating from this arcane being.
Alex, who had stood up after the explosion that threw him backward, felt a pressure in his chest as he contemplated the Eldritch Horror. The energy he had accumulated, which he had used to sustain the breach, became insignificant in the face of the magnitude of the being manifesting before them.
Princess Ley, on the other hand, had to lean on her lance to avoid falling to her knees. Although she had faced many dangers as a military leader in the Empire, she had never experienced such deep and primitive fear as the one now enveloping her.
The Eldritch Horror did not speak words in the conventional sense, but its thoughts reverberated in the minds of all present, like a distorted echo of cosmic madness. "You are ephemeral insects in the vastness of time. Your struggle is insignificant, but I have decided to intervene. Do you dare to defy my dominion?"
Reality itself seemed to ripple and distort in the presence of the primordial entity. The battle that had raged until that moment paled in comparison to the threat now looming over the forest. The alphas and the packs were facing something that transcended their understanding—a dark presence reminiscent of forgotten legends and primordial fears.
Fear inundated every living being, transcending into panic and terror among those present. Not a few simply dropped dead, as those who fought near the portal received the worst part of the suppression and the aura of the Eldritch Horror.
The once powerful and majestic Alphas now slowly retreated with small moans and whimpers, unable to gather enough power to unleash a roar that would snap their pack members out of their stupor and allow them to withdraw.
Those who were farther away, like Alex, the princess, their troops, or even the gnolls, had received a much smaller part of the aura and still found themselves in a miserable and pathetic state, where they had lost control over their bodies.
Alex, on the other hand, was in a dire spot. Although he was far from the conflict, his participation had been noticed by the interdimensional being. Even though he had no more than 1% of its attention, it was enough to keep him glued to the ground.
The Eldritch Horror began to make modifications to the portal slowly. Its presence in this world was terribly unstable, and it found it difficult to sustain its own power. Therefore, it decided not to rush and took the necessary steps to gain more footing in this world.
For the rest, although they knew what it was doing and the consequences it had, there was little they could do. The horror was several orders of magnitude above them, and that wasn't even its total and complete power. The suppression of an ancestral being like this could not be easily repelled by small beings like them.
Soon, there was another change in the wind. Where there had been no breeze and only the horrible and nauseating smell of the Eldritch, a small forest breeze began to rise.
The breeze soon turned into a gust, gaining intensity and defying the colossal monstrosity.
The Eldritch turned to look at the newcomers.
A large silver-backed lion with blue flames emanating from its limbs on one side.
Opposite to it, a massive griffin whose fur seemed to be directly made of lightning.
Leading the two and higher in the sky, a massive black dragon.
Soon, another invisible battle began, a battle between their respective dominions, a battle fought between high-level beings that mere mortals couldn't even comprehend. Among the three beings, they could barely suppress the Eldritch Horror. However, to their absolute dismay, even they were not enough to suppress a being of this caliber, and they slowly began to be invaded by the presence of this entity.
