The only way (chapter 6) [improved ending]

I froze as soon as the king said those words. That venison was beastkin flesh? how odd.

I remember looking up the flavor of human flesh, where I found a cannibal claim that it tastes similar to venison. Cytaari have beliefs that are very different from normal human ethics. We don't consider cannibalism bad or good. But our small group often depicts cannibalism in our literature, back on Earth. That reminds me, I should really copy our holy book down before I forget too much of what is said within it.

I glance back at the people who dined at the table. My sister, whom I sat next to during dinner is frozen with her mouth gaping at the meat the remains on her plate. I glace at the rest of my 'family' and I can tell that most have similar reactions. My eldest brother, a person who looks like a big, fat, ripe tomato due to his red tinged skin and round body, holds his right hand over his mouth. It doesn't take long for him to proceed to vomit onto his dinner plate.

A sly smile appears on my face, against my will. AHAH, these weak humans are now in a state that fits them better, shocked by their own filth. tch, I calm my smile and inner thoughts.

I walk up to the door where I entered, and the guards remain still. I take one step out of the room, and my 'lovely' maid comes out and forcefully grabs my hand.

Shaking my hand easily from her grip, I turn to her. Her face shows a rare scowl. I notice her normally relaxed eyes, narrowed and venomous.

Personal Maid of MC: "You cannot just walk away from his Majesty, the king! Go back to him, and beg for forgiveness or I'll lock you up in your room and throw the key away!"

Shocked by her unusual behavior, my eyes widen ever so slightly.

Steeling my resolve, I continue my walk out of the dinning room. With a fast gait, I walk down the previously unknown walkways. The guards at my heels. My magic is boiling over and I'm sure they felt it, thus their distance from myself.

With my anger threatening to overwhelm me, I sprint the last stretch into my chambers. Slamming the door behind me, I Yell out a scream that could horrify the worst of demons.

Jaken/Eris: "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!" I pause for a moment until something dawns on me. "AHAHAHAHAHA!"

This is the first time I have made a sound with these vocal cords since my rebirth. Even my half-brother has never heard my voice, since I used my magic to directly command my half-brother to leave and gather strength.

After yelling for a good 3 minutes, I fall to my knees. After I calm my emotions, I relax my body once again. Following this, my magic recedes back into my body. Whenever my emotions become too powerful my magic releases by itself, though I must admit my power does appear to increase when I give into my emotions.

I shake my head slowly, this is enough. If the entirety of the world wants me to have such a horrible time, then I will bring a reckoning onto the my "father's" kingdom. Let him be the last of his name.

AAAAHHHH! I'll kill them all! I cannot stand it anymore. I'm leaving this place, I cannot handle the corruption of this building. It runs so deep within even the foundation that it could be considered an avatar of filth and rot.

I rise to my feet. There are things I must do to prepare my escape, but first....

I quickly shed my mini-skirt from my body. There should be enough material from my bed-wear for silk pants, though slik would not be my material of choice for pants. I don't have many options.

I quickly corrode the bed-wear into a pair of silk pants that just barely reach the knees.

It is time.

I turn to the window in my room, and walk quietly to the bars that prevent me from passing it.

Unauthorized use of content: if you find this story on Amazon, report the violation.

I've tried to break through these steel bars before with my magic, but I did not succeed. My magic was not strong enough then, but perhaps it will me now. Emotion will drive me from this place.

I firmly grasp each bar, and I pore 95% of my magic into the bars. For minutes the battle between the iron bars and me raged on until, they turned to ash all at once. There was no noise or gradual weakening of the bars, they just suddenly gave way.

With heavy breaths I sit down, back against the wall with the window. I stare at the ash on each of my hands. white as chalk, it glows with a holy light. I will leave the ash here, it will be a gift from this demi-god.

Rested well, I climb to my feet. Half of my magic will be sufficient for the rest of my escape. I lift myself up onto the window-ceil. looking down to the ground, I sense a strange sense of déjà vu. I proceed to shimmy down using the cracks and foot-holds along the wall.

Reaching the bottom of the wall, there is a heavy decline of soil that ends about 15 meters away from the base of the castle.

Something that I didn't notice before about the castle-town is that it doesn't have inner walls, but a seemingly bottomless pit 100 meters away from the walls I am at now. I'm sure I'll learn how to get past after I get there.

Sprinting towards the edge of the cut in the earth, I notice too late that guards have already noticed me and are pursuing. Heh, only one way to stop them forever would be my death, I'm sure.

reaching the edge of the cliff, I stop. skidding to the edge.

turning my back to the cliff, I stare into the guard captain's eyes as he approaches.

He is nearly 2 meters tall. He wears steel plate armour over his chest and legs, with a steel helm that covers the face. He has cloth over said his armour depicting a black snake coiled around a vertical tree. Must be our coat of arms.

He continues to walk forward each step bringing him closer.

Jaken: "Stop!"

He freezes at my command. If the 'silent princess', as I'm called by the maids and guards, orders you then you stop. Though I'm sure he stopped more from shock that I actually spoke.

Sir Perit: "Princess Eris, I leader of the king's body guard sir Perit am ordered to bring you to the king. Cease this foolishness. There is nowhere to go. Come back with me. I'm sure your father is very worried about you.

I smile broadly at this. How I waited for for my moment of escape, And here my father comes to give me a nice little human to play with.

Jaken: "Oh, but sir Perit, Why should I go back to the castle when there is a perfectly good cliff that is beckoning my arrival. Do you hear them? They want me, they are waiting."

Sir Perit: "Don't be selfish, come back home where you belong." He took a step forward, the grass bending in this giants wake, but I don't bend.

Shaking my head, I begin to laugh.

Jaken: "AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, How I've awaited this day! Sorry Perit, but I must heed their call. Don't worry, these nightmares can be befriended." pausing for effect, my grin deepened, "Trust me."

I turn around again and Jump off the cliff.

Today, it will be known that the princess was possessed by a demon. And forced her down into its lair in the cracks of hell itself.

----------------------------------------

My next chapter will either be a POV of the king(all interactions); POV of the maid; or a POV of one  of the siblings.

I may go back to my previous chapters and edit them as well since there is an obvious rise in quality compared to some of my previous chapters.

She's not dead, spoiler.
