With each tick, Timothy Rickson descended towards a mess of blocks below. Beyond the 10x40 rectangular field, the score glows as it climbs. Timothy thought, Some people would think that a Tetris playfield is only 20 squares tall, but there are 20 lines hidden from normal view.
How did I get here? I was just a regular dude before, but now my consciousness occupies a Tetromino (any of the 4-block pieces that are given to a Tetris player to stack). Not only that, though. I am a Line, a 4x1, the best piece in the game! The Line is the only piece that can clear four lines at the same time, triggering a “Tetris!” for massive points.

The pile below me is not perfect. It has some gaps in several lines, but there is a spot over on the right side that would be perfect. After this, I’ll be thrown back into the rotation to pop out from the top again.
But should I wait to tick all the way down or should I go for a dramatic Hard Drop, going directly into Lockdown? The pacing is all up to me. I can feel the choice in my strange new body.
I will tick down until I am only a few spaces short of landing and then I will hard drop at the last second for emphasis. My powers are unparalleled!
