Chapter One: Rebirth
----------------------------------------
"AAAA" screamed a lonely soul within the body of a tree. There was no one to hear their dear scream for help. "Aaaa..."
The soul had finally realized that it wasn't feeling any pain. With a look of total embarrassment that no one could even see, it looked around searching for any clue that would give away where it was. It found nothing of course since it couldn't see.
"Can someone hear me? If you can then can you tell where I am please?" the soul yelled into the abyss, oh so very unknowing of the fact no one could hear it, the soul continued to seek help by screaming. It would have gone on for longer if it weren't for the odd thought of just knowing what he was suddenly. He was in a tree.
----------------------------------------
[First Person]
"A tree, so I was reborn or reincarnated as a tree. I know I couldn't be reborn as a Young Master with strong abilities cause no one does that. But could I at least be born human? I don't even know how to be a tree", a cloud of information poured into my head teaching me how to be a tree. It really wasn't that hard all I had to do was get sunlight, water, and minerals. Of course, this is after I sprout.
Week 2
I finally sprouted and had one tiny leaf with two roots digging into the dirt. I don't know how I was so calm but I guess that was one of the perks of being a tree.
I thought eating sunlight would taste weird but it tastes like honey while after tastes like water. I Used most of the energy I had for roots. I had a 2:1 thing with two roots for every one leaf. I would do this until ten leaves. I should have enough energy being produced to do other things by then.
Month 2, Week 1
I had ten leaves finally. I had enough every being made to divert some and let my instincts take over for me. I started using the energy to make my roots more efficient since they worked 24/7 instead of just in the day.
I also used some energy to make my bark harder cause I could already feel animals trying to eat my insides out. You also never know when one of them will trample you as its running.
Month 3, Week 2
It was a good few months with my roots a nice 4 feet deep into the earth and my bark strong enough to stop most of the animals like woodpeckers. They had been an annoying pest as a natural predator to small trees. Something I realized here is that I am growing way faster than a tree should. I was already a good 5"2 measuring my trunk and 6"3 with my leaves. I stopped counting how many leaves I had at twenty-five so I have no idea how many I have. I will start diverting equal energy to the leaves, bark, and roots since I can now sustain it. Being tree isn't all to bad, you never really get bored or tired.
The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation.
Year 2, Month 2, Week 2
I was an average-sized tree now, by average I mean a good twelve feet. My bark was harder than it needed to be. It was able to stop a bear from climbing and scratching me with its claws. My roots were a good fifteen feet deep and my leaves were. They were something else, they sucked in the sunlight like a whirlpool sucking in water. I also realized that I have no sense of time, I don't feel bored either really. I was also feeling new energy around me but it was super faint. I started pouring energy into other things like my internals and my sense since I really want to know what that energy is.
Year 2, Month 4
I could finally feel and control the new energy. We are gonna call it Mana because who's here to stop me. When I could control Mana a gem formed within my body and my whole body could absorb Mana. With it now I could start having magical properties. Well, I hope I can, or channeling all that Mana through my body was for nothing. I'm gonna be a magical tree soon hopefully.
Week 2 of Month 4
I had been channeling most of my Mana through my leaves and now they were very sharp. They could absorb twice as much sunlight and I could make them float. My roots also got an upgrade, wasn't as big as the leaves but they did become stronger. With these upgrades I could defend myself against the normal every day animals with ease. No woodpeckers would make it a few feet in on my branches of me before they died, my early life of them pecking my insides out has left a sour opinion of them in my mind.
Year 2, Month 5
My whole body had been nourished in Mana enough to gain abilities. I even could see Mana now. It gave me a faint sight of what was near me and what I looked like. I always guessed based on how big normal leaves are. It turned out I was way bigger. Easily reaching twenty feet with my leaves and trunk. Counting my roots would be another good 15 feet.
Year 3
Nothing happened for the rest of the time other than my [Mana Sight] becoming better. I also got a sense of time since I could now see things die. I counted how many rings I had and found out I grew a third today. Since a new year started I could use the sun as a way to tell what hour it was. In winter it may not work as well but I would know it's winter since it's the only season where I gain nothing but Mana since the rest of my energy is spent on staying alive. Last winter was bad since I could see everything die, winter was far more deadly than my human life made it out to be.
Year 4, Month 3, Week 1, Day 6
I am being attacked, I could feel it and my [Mana Sight] was showing the a massive bear shaped figure made of fire mana grasping at me. A bear with fire for claws was looking at me as if it knew I could see. We were kind of in both standing our ground waiting to see who would attack the other first.
The bear leaped into the air and struck one of its claws at me. It was fast but I was just as fast as I wiped out one of my roots that I kept less deep than the others and slapped its claw away. I sent fifteen leaves to attack it but they did nothing because of its tough body. The bear used the time it took me to slap its claw and send leaves at it to bite my trunk. It started ripping bark off of me like it was eating a cupcake. I would have to make my bark much harder if I survived this.
I would not die today, not gonna die again. I grabbed it with my roots and sent leaves at its eyes. As many leaves as I possibly could. It couldn't bat them all away and finally one got into its eyes. Not letting that chance get away I made another leaf go towards its eye causing the bear's left eye to become useless. With one eye gone, it was easier to get the right eye and destroy it as well. Fighting a blind bear with fire claws was much easier than a fully sighted bear with fire claws. It took a couple [Root Strike]'s to the heart before lay dead on the ground in its own blood. I realized just how powerless a tree is, yet also how strong I was since that bear would have ripped a tree from Earth to splinters in a single hit.
I was happy to be alive still, really happy to be alive. Even if he didn't know if a tree could die or not.
