As i chose [Winged Skeleton], i felt something protruding from my backs. It was an excrutiating pain, as the wings were slowly growing. I tried my hardest not to scream but a few screeches escaped. After a few minutes the wings finally formed and the pain dissappeared. It was in the middle of the night and i was excited. i first try to control my wings. after a bit, i got the hang of it. once i got used to controlling the wings, i tried jumping first then flapping. my first few attempts didnt go so well but i quickly was able to fly. Astonished, i decided to fly all over the forest. The forest was beautiful once you really pay attention. The lit candles look like flittering fireflies and the tops of the trees were emerald gree.

I fly a little higher and glide back to where i Lived. there was a little hut right next to the training grounds which wasnt used, so they gave it to me. Although i dont have a use for it either, i appreciated it and decided to do some experiments in there. Its where i created and tested out most of my magic. As i was returning i saw Ivraan. 

I wonder. What is he doing up so late?

"Hello, Ivraan. What brings you here so late?" I said.

"I heard some screeching so i came to check it out. Im guessing it was you because of your 'evolution'?"

"Yes, and even though the pain was nearly unbareable, even for a skeleton, it was worth it." 

"Well its a good thing youre safe. Youve got some more lessons tomorrow, so be sure to get ready." he said as he left.  

"Alright thanks for your concern" I say.

A few hours later, the sun was rising and i saw someone in robes walking towards me. It was a woman and she seemed to be a mage. And a high level one at that. Her hair was forest green with eyes as blue as the sky. Her ears poked out of her hair, which was flowing down to her waist.

"Hello. From now on i will be your magic instructor. You seem to be a little different from what the reports say, but that shouldnt change anything. My name is Melwen, but you will call me Intructor or teacher." She said as she walked up to me.

"Yes, Ma'am. I appreciate everything you will do for me and i will earnestly study everything you teach as if it were a blessing." I reply. I may be a bit slow but i know where to put me respect.

"Dont get your hopes up. You are a skeleton after all. The amount of reported skeleton mages are less than 5. But you are different so there may be a chance." She said, lowering my spirits.

"I dont think that will be a problem. I already know a little bit of magic."

"Oh really? Then i hope you wont mind showing me this magic." She said with an excited look. it seems she really wants to see a skeleton practice magic.

"Alright. Here goes nothing" I say as im putting mana over my body. it wasnt my first time using [Accursed Aura] but i havent had enough practice to use it at an experts level. 

As i was performing my [Accursed Aura], Melwen had a more than suprised expession worn on her face. Is this the first time shes seen a skeleton use magic? If she gets that suprised, then i guess im pretty awesome. The black mana surrounded my body and you could feel the aura of death in the area. 

"Be sure not to touch me. when ever anyone touches me while this is on, their life force gets drained." I say. 

"Su..sure. This is unheard of. First, the skeleton can move without a master, then it can speak, now it can use magic. Black magic on top of that. This...this is crazy." she said

Im pretty amazing, arent i? Im probably the only skeleton with friends!

"Is black magic difficult or something? It seems like it is"

"Yes, it is very very difficult to master. the amount of known people who are able even use black magic without losing their life dont exceed 10. This must be because of you being an undead and all. Follow me, we must get your attributes tested." Melwen said.

"What is that? Attributes" i say as i follow.

"It means to see which types of magic you are able to control the best. The 4 types of magic are Fire, Earth, Wind, and water. These are the most common. there are 4 sub types, which are Thunder, spirit, holy and black magic. all of these are more rare, especially black magic." She said as we approached a large mansion near the palace. Once we entered, we took a left. The guards were struck with fear. I would be too, if i saw a skeleton with wings casually walking. We soon entered a dark room. Once i walked in, i felt a surge of mana enter me. Luckily, my MP was full otherwise i would have sucked this room dry. 

Sometimes i wish these passives could be turned off. ....no? Aww.

I was hoping i would get a skill where i can toggle passives. i guess its only availible when i get a variation of the skill, like with [Mana Perception] and [Intermediate Sight]. 

"Place your...hand.. over this orb here and release a small amount of mana from your hand." Melwen said after i stopped gazing around.

She must think i stole this hand or something. well technically i did. As i placed my hand over the orb and released mana, colors started swirling around and soon it focus on 2 colors. The first color was dark as the abyss, and the other was a white-purple. Like the color of...lightning? I kept my hand on the orb.

"wow...this is simply amazing! I never thought this possible! a dual type Magician, with both of them being subtypes. This has to be the most devastating combo. Lightning and Black magic." As Melwen said that, the guards woke looked up in shock. 

"Erm, instructor is this super rare?" i say.

"Is this rare?Is THIS rare? If youve got even ME ins shock, then this is rare. Wait whats this? whats happening?!" She said as the colors in the orb slowly shrank, as if making room for a third attribute. The color of this attribute was white. As white as the clouds in the sky.

"What is this attribute, instructor?" i say innocently, but She didnt reply. She just stood there in shock. I guess it is because of the 3 attirbutes.

"I..im beat. This is merely impossible. there is only one person in this world who had 3 attributes without training. no, this cant be. You, do you have any memories of before you died?" Melwen said

I was thinking of telling her of how i died. with a toaster and all but i think it is too far fetched, even for this world to have someone travel through worlds. 

"No. none at all." I say

"then where did you 'wake up'?"

"To the west of here in a forest." I reply

"Were there any towns or cities nearby?"

"I dont think so. i was awakened by a Fae, and after that i walked to this forest. I didnt look around the forest or anything."

"The..then it must be true. You really are 'him.' Albeit undead you are still him." she said with a wavering voice.

"Who is this 'him' you are talking of, Instructor?" i ask 

"Ah, yes. 'He' is Archmage Forthwind. he is the only person to have mastered every attribute. Even one that was never shown since then. An unknown magic. From witness reports, it seems this attribute was Bone magic but has never been confirmed. If it truly is bone magic, then it makes sense that you have it. When Archmage Forthwind died, he died fighting for the people. There was a dragon running rampant in the area where you awoke. The Archmage quickly dispersed form his home, to slay this dragon. He killed the dragon, but lost his life in the process. Since then it has been declared to all races that that area is a sacred land and nothing is to be build on or near it. A few thousand years had passed, and i think the Fae that you met were true Fae, that were born from  the sacred land." Melwen explained.

"Wo..wow. Thats truly amazing. Then i must be an amazing mage! No one can oppose me!" I said with confidence

"Dont get ahead of yourself. right now youre still a novice in magic. Dont be conceited just because of your past. Having 3 attributes dosent make you strong. it just means youre lucky. Sadly i have nothing to teach you. I odnt know any of these types of magic. There is one place though. In 3 years time the princess will be going to an interracial magic academy. She needs a capable bodyguard, so ill propose you to go to the Queen." Instructor Melwen said.

"But instructor, What about..you know...my body?" I ask

"Do not worry about that. the school is interracial. They will accept anybody and anything that is not a criminal and has an INT Level higher than 100. If they dont accept you, it would be a violation of their own rules. I will take my Leave. You may go back. Since ive got nothing to teach you, dont expect me to teach you."

"Instructor, there might be something i need help with. [Appraisal]."

"You..you dont know appraisal? Alright, to make things easy ill just let you tap into my knowledge of [Appriasal]. Put your hand on top of mine and put the smallest amount of mana you can into my hand."

As i did what she said, i saw something like circuits on a circuit board. It was only for a millisecond but it was amazing.

Yes! finally! for these next few years ill be spamming the hell out of this! 

"that is all i hope? hen if so please leave." Inatructor Melwen said 'I need to retire right after my business with the queen' She mumbled, although i couldnt hear her.

"Yes, Instructor." I said as i exited room. As soon i left the mansion, i couldnt hold in my excitement. I jumped as i high as i could and started to fly above the clouds. 

i can believe im a master in arcane arts! But i should really reflect on what Instructor Melwen said. I should train to the best of my ability. 

As i flew around for an hour or two, i calmed down and went back down to my hut. When i was nearing it, i saw Ivraan waiting there. 

"What brings you here, Ivraan?" i said as i landed.

"Skellie! I just heard from Melwen. your past self was Archmage Forthwind?"

"I cant really say. Ive no memories from before my death. But just because of that, dont treat me any differently. Im still the Skellie you know. But if i act out of line, please dont be afraid to scold me."

"Thats good. Since Melwen has nothing to teach you, your sword training will be focused on more. Also i dont know if you heard, but you were approved to go with the princess to the Magic academy. I believe it is called Frekwan, School Of  Magi. But dont forget, While we wait for the princess' coronation to get out into the world, we must get you prepared for any magic resistant enemies. Two times as much sword training from now on."

"wha..why? Im terrible at sword play!"

"Well then ill force you to get good" Ivraan said with a grin. I may be a skeleton, but this cant be fair!
