Chapter 3 Crisis

It's been a week since he became a skeleton.

As the second half of the Pound Skeleton Army, Eric had silently cracked the heads of ten skeleton colleagues.

It may seem like a lot, but to the Pound Skeleton Army, these skeletons are not worth mentioning.

The current Eric skeleton panel is as follows.

[Name] Eric Pound

[Race] Low-level Skeleton

[Level] lv3/lv1. (Low-level Skeleton level cap is lv1.)

[Profession] None

[Strength] 5/1.

[Physique] 5/1.

[Spirit] 8/1.

[Free Attribute Points] 1.

[Evolution Requirements] Racial Evolution can be achieved when Strength, Constitution, and Spirit are full.

[Skills] Bone Change lv1, Appraisal lv1, Bone Hardness lv1, Strength lv1, Swiftness lv1, Footwear lv1.

[Status] Enslaved, Bone Deterioration

[Experience Value] 6./3...

[Description] A Fragile and frightening but versatile skeleton, enslaved by the evil bone dragon Pound, probably lasts another 1.5 years before crumbling apart!

[Creeping Foot lv1] was gleaned by Eric from the left leg of a lv3 low-level skeleton.

This skill can largely hide the movement of his tailing and running.

It was quite useful for Eric, who needed to work and often tailed other skeletons.

With this skill, paired with his [Swiftness] and [Strength], he often didn't have to wait until the skeletons went to sleep, and the first pick up holding a stone pier and smashing it with his long legs.

But today's Eric is not like the usual tailing other skeletons to knock boring sticks.

Because today's Bone Dragon Nest came a group of guests.

This group of guests was different from the dull skeletons, they had goat horns, thin scales on their slender tails, and a pair of dark bat wings on their backs.

If Eric hadn't guessed correctly, this seemed to be, amongst other things, the Phantoms of the Demons.

This group of Phantoms flew in the air, their eyes sweeping from one skeleton to another as if they were scanning for goods.

This kind of sight was familiar to Eric because three minutes ago he was looking at the other skeletons with this kind of sight.

Damn it, Eric shrunk his neck and hid in the group of skeletons, hoping that he would not be so conspicuous.

But the multi-talented skeleton was exuding that damned, otherworldly, nowhere-to-be-seen charm wherever he was.

Stolen story; please report.

It was as if every inch of his smooth, white bones told others that he was different.

It was also thanks to a certain skeleton's view of hygiene that he always took care to keep himself clean.

Eric has been singled out by a chimera.

Not yet out of Pound's clutches, Eric fell into the clutches of another chimera.

"Appraisal."

[Name] Lucia Pound.

[Race] High-ranked Demon

[Profession] Magician - Elemental Mage

[Rank] lv34/lv4. (Third-ranked magician, high-ranked demon level cap lv4.)

[Description] High-ranked demonic servant of the evil bone dragon Pound, synonymous with destruction and evil, specializes in elemental magic and possesses a wealth of magical knowledge and research spirit

"Good quality, good research material."

Lucia knocked on Eric's skull and said with satisfaction.

Eric could only pretend to be dumbfounded.

If it was seen that he possessed intelligence, there was little chance of him getting out of Pound's clutches in his life.

But as research material or whatever, he felt that his future was bleak.

Eric was brought into a square separated by stone walls, where there were other skeletons beside him, all wandering dully back and forth across the limited grounds.

Eric had been pretending to be a skeleton for so long, so naturally he wandered in style.

And amongst the skeletons, a few chimeras were wandering about.

The levels that were identified were generally above lv1. and possessed intelligence.

The last names of these chimeras were all xxxx-Lucia, and those with higher ranks would get the suffix "Pound" after Lucia.

They seemed to be low-ranked middle-ranked chimeras that were enslaved by Lucia.

"Keep an eye on these skeletons, they're all important research materials!"

Lucia barked out a sentence and flew away once again.

In this limited field and still being stalked by the Phantoms, Eric also lost the opportunity to knock out the upgrade.

He could only dabble next to the chimeras and act like a dull skeleton, gathering information from the chimeras' conversations.

After a period of prying, Eric also finally learned about Lucia's research.

She wanted to research and cultivate a special skeleton species, the Elemental Skeleton.

Elemental Skeletons were different from ordinary Skeleton Monsters, a rare special Skeleton Species that could use elemental magic.

These low-ranked skeletons in the square, all of them are consumables ......

To be precise, in Lucia's anticipation, it was impossible for these skeletons to be transformed into elemental skeletons, and they were just cannon fodder samples used to record experimental data.

Lucia left, precisely on her way out to collect experimental materials.

And the first experiment for this batch of skeletons was just three days later.

In the blink of an eye, the first experiment was about to begin.

During these three days, under the Phantom Demon's surveillance, Eric didn't give his other skeleton colleagues a chance to knock the stuffing out of them.

So neither the level nor the attributes had changed.

However, Eric didn't do anything during these three days.

He took advantage of a few cute coworkers falling asleep, knocked them until they fainted, and quietly replaced their limbs.

The dull skeletons didn't realize the change in themselves either.

The skills of Eric's western limbs had now been replaced by himself with [Hard Bones] [Self Healing] [Toughness] [Fire Resistance].

All of them were survival and defense skills.

After his intentional and unintentional rubbing around by the chimera, he rubbed in important information.

The first experiment was related to flames, so he specifically looked for a [Fire Resistance] skill to load himself up with.

The first experiment officially began, and Lucia, a high-ranking demon, reappeared in the experimental field.

Compared to three days ago, Lucia hadn't changed much.

She also had no intention of talking nonsense with the low-ranked skeletons, and with a wave of her hand, two chimeras grabbed one of the skeletons.

Lucia walked to the front of the skeleton, stretched out a hand, and pressed it on the skeleton's head.

"Fire Pulp."

Flames were poured down head-on like a slurry, and the skeleton struggled madly, its bones crashing and rubbing together, emitting oozing sounds.

Soon, the low-ranked skeleton was motionless and collapsed to the ground, turning into pitch-black remains.

Eric's non-existent scalp tingled for a moment, carefully determining his skill bar once more to make sure that his carefully prepared skills were still there, before quietly reassuring himself a little.

"Can't even make it through the beginning? How useless."

"Next."

Lucia's charming and melodious voice, Eric couldn't hear any semblance of emotion.

Soon, the second unlucky egg was escorted up, its head raised dully, the flames in its eyes burning silently.

Lucia reached out again and pressed her hand to the skull's head.

The same magic, fire slurry poured down, and this time the skeleton didn't even last as long as the last one, legs propped up, and passed away dryly on the ground.

"...... Next!"
