Chapter 5 part 7 & 8

Part 7:

When I opened my eyes I was greeted by a beautiful sight of two large swaying hills and a soft sensation on the back of my head.

Looking at the sun I could see that I was asleep for quite some time. Yrilssa had already woken up and place my head on her thighs. It seems she dozed off while waiting for me to wake up.

"Good morning master."

When I let out a slight breath she immediately awakens, her eye look into mine and she smiles brightly as she greets me.

"Good morning Yrilssa."

I return the greeting with a smile of my own. Despite happening in the world of dreams that battle took several days to finish. This increased my desire to see Yrilssa.

Ignoring my feelings of regret I stood up and set out to fulfill the reason we started this trip. I hurriedly headed to the ruins, at a pace that was a lot faster than before.

Yrilssa silently followed me, not questioning my sudden change in mood.

When we got there I noticed the mass of corpses were missing, all that was left was a massive burn mark were they once were.

Opening the I pulled out a stick of incense and lit it. Clasping my hands together in prayer towards the ruins. Yrilssa was puzzled by my actions but she also followed suit.

In silence I offered my prayers to the devil kings, archangels and dragon gods that passed away here. These atavistic ruins were home to inhumane acts and research but it was also the place where I received my new beginning.

Finished with my prayers I set the place ablaze, with flames hot enough to burn stone.

I was treating these ruins as funeral pyre for the six that fell to me in battle and were finally able to pass on. At first I was targeting this place for information but now I no longer wanted it.

In memory of the six I consider to be close to me I burned this wretched place to the ground.

Yrilssa sensed intent and silently watched as the flames consume everything in sight.

In a few minutes the flames died down and all that was left was a massive pile of ashes that was taken away by a timely breeze.

Yrilssa didn't ask anything and simply accepted my change in plans. She sensed that something had changed when I fell asleep.

Yrilssa smiled softly as she saw the determination burning in my eyes. She could tell I had clear goal in mind and she was already to wholeheartedly support me in whatever I had planned.

"Yrilssa its time to go."

"Yes master."

Grasping my hand we began to walk back to the city.

Leaving behind a future landmark that all will come to see.

It was here that I truly set out to accomplish my goals in this world.

Hand in hand with the elven maiden I fell for, we began the journey that would shake this world to its core.

Part 8:

As we left the area a change descended on the world. A change despite being so massive was only sensed by a select few. A change that I strangely didn't notice at all.

All over the world an oracle was spread. Straight from the gods an oracle was given to all leading figures residing in this world.

All the oracles told the same message, as they were forcefully possessed by divine spirits to accurately portray the message.

"In the far south, near the tip of the continent, a new being has made its presence known. A being that is invisible to the eyes of the gods and the eyes of fate. We know nothing of this being. It is not known if it is friend or foe, all we know is that recently a massive explosion occurred in the south and a mountain was turned to ash. This simply a message to inform all of you."

You might be reading a pirated copy. Look for the official release to support the author.

With that the oracle was finished.

In response the world underwent a massive change!

Many countries wanted to meet the being out of curiosity, many wanted to recruit it, and many feared it. Not a single one stayed neutral in this matter after hearing about its power.

The strongest reaction was that of fear. People have always feared the unknown and have always let that fear rule them.

Masters all across the world where summoned by the respective masters and allegiances, all those with an allegiance were recruited in large numbers.

Spies flooded the southern continent in unprecedented numbers, to the point that they easily indentified one another before they even got there.

Yet strangely another unusual event occurred here, where all the spies decided to work together, an incident that would draw the ire of the leaders and make them ultimately fail their mission.

All of them went to look for something out of the ordinary and unique in appearance. A creature that looks nothing likes a human.

And that was precisely why they would have never found no matter how hard or thoroughly they searched. They simply had no clue what they were searching for.

Their reports only added to the widespread fear that was growing in the leadership position of every fearful country across the world.

Only the powerful took a more relaxed approach to this matter as they were more intent on satisfying their curiosity then useless fear mongering.

In the eyes of the of the truly powerful the actions taken by other countries were useless and only creating problems for their nations.

The economy also nearly failed in several nations as the prices for goods changed erratically as several nobles and kings took the oracle as an omen for the end. They lived as luxuriously as possible, believing that their lives would soon come to an end.

The most extreme reactions occurred at the western edge of the continent where the army took advantage of the turmoil and led a bloody rebellion, leading to the fall of a large empire that ruled for the last century.

A really interesting situation was accidently spawned from a simple warning. The gods wanted to spread caution to avoid any potential disaster but as a result created an even bigger disaster.

I was completely unaware of the turmoil the world was in due to my existence as I flirted with Yrilssa throughout the entire duration of the trip back to the city.

We discussed many plans as we peacefully walked back, ultimately finalizing my plans to go on a journey and travelling the world.

In fact during our trip back we even encountered the spies dispatched by various kingdoms, though I didn't know who they were at the time, but I have to say they were pretty fast to reach her despite setting out mere hours ago. A discovery that would lead me to learning more about teleportation.

We began to treat like a guild mission and set our first destination as the Shadowscale kingdom that was under the rule of the black dragon king. A move that Tenebris wanted me to make. I did not know what his objective was in making me go there but I hope it will be beneficial to me.

After a few hours Yrilssa and I made it back to our home and fell asleep, the trip itself had not tired us at all it was more for the purpose of being well rested to complete the preparations we had to do tomorrow. Naturally we slept together.

Unaware that our actions had already sent the rusted gears of fate into motion. Ironically the very same gears that I was invisible to.
