Her eyes were deep blue like in the deepest parts of the ocean. Her hair was golden, and long that reached her waist, but it had an unnatural sparkle to it. She was dressed with a simple cloth sheet, her feet were bare, with nothing to shield from the rough ground.
She was small, the size of a child. When she was a phantom, she would see all, but with now having a body she could only gaze where she turned her head. She was happy, her joy started to overflow as she jumped up and down like a kid getting a toy he always wanted. Since she wasn’t used to her body she instantly fell down on her behind, and pain erupted from her rear. With a whimper she cried, and rubbed her rear slightly to cease it.
Her eyes wandered around the clearing she sat in, with piqued interest, she noticed a few birds watching her. They were blue jays, common around where she was, their beautiful blue feathers shined at her. She instinctively put her arm up, and with a quick flap of their wings the two blue jays landed on it. They looked at her with interest, she soon petted them, using two fingers to rub their heads.
The blue jays then squawked at her then flew away, she was saddened for a second, but happy that she could actually interact with the world around her. With nothing in her admitted area she stood again, her legs were weak from never being used, but with some trial and error she soon got used to the movements of walking, thought running would have to wait.
She stumbled many times, but made her way through the dense forest. It was beautiful, filled with life. Many times she would go to animals and pet them, some would be scared and flee while many would graciously expect the pets. She was happy, the animals of the forest were unique and interesting to interact with.
Though after a while she stumbled into another clearing. This one however had remains of a camp grounds, she walked forward and found the remains of a firepit. She inspected it, and touched the blacked remains of the burnt wood, it was weird and flaky. It easily fell to the ground off of her hands. She glanced towards the tent that was setup, she gazed at it and peaked her head inside, she saw a bunch of abandoned sheets, with a pillow on stop. They looked rather old, they haven’t been touched in awhile. She remembered seeing people sleeping in beds, sometimes they even used the floor as a bed, so she guessed this was suitable for her.
Even though she was a being of creation, her body still needed something to satisfy her hunger. She used to consume light, but now she needed more. She had an idea of what to eat, like meats, fruits, and vegetables.
But obtaining those things was the real problem, she had no way to successfully hunt something, nor could she plant and grow food within the day. Sighing, she decided her best option was to salvage berries and edible mushrooms to live off of, though she couldn't hunt, or really fend for herself. She still had incredible knowledge of the world, and its many quirks and kinks.
As day turned to dusk, she was able to gather enough food to fill her needs for the night. She had quickly made her way back to the little tent she found, it wasn't perfect, but it was a place out of the weather. She set down the berries she carried in her sheets as she had balled it up with the excess cloth that were supposed to be her clothes. She didn’t realize the point of them, but she always saw people wearing them so she just assumed it was a cultural thing.
She set the rest of her food she gathered in some sheets that were in the tent and bundled them so nothing could get to them. She then laid on the rest of the sheets and put her head on the pillow, and slept.
Sadly sleep didn’t come quickly, darkness consumed her. For the first time she was scared of her surroundings, and the cold that assaulted her. Eventually though sleep finally hit her, and a new day was raised.
When she woke, she stretched, not really understanding why she did, but her body liked the feeling, and she did as it commanded. As she yawned her body made a weird rumbling noise, it confused her to all highs. But she then realized it was hunger, so she then made use of the rest of the berries she gathered beforehand.
She pushed the flaps of the tent aside and walked out, her gaze roamed around the clearing looking for anything of interest, but nothing stood out to her once more. With nothing better to do, she went in a random direction.
It was only a few hours later that she noticed an unnatural wall. The only reason she spotted it, was because she was trying her hardest to chase after a buck and then it ran right into. She winced as it had broken one of its antlers but fled in a direction before she could do anything to help it.
The wall was made of stone bricks, it had vines and trees blocking most of it. So if someone wanted to find it they would have to accidentally run into it, or purposely be looking for it. She ran her hand across it, feeling the rough but rather smooth surface. She then stepped back and decided to look to see if it had an entrance, as she stepped around one of the sides of it, she saw a big archway entrance. There were hinges on the doorway, but the door had rotted away a long time ago.
She made her way towards the entrance. It sat up above some steps that had many cracks and missing stones that left it looking rather displeasing, but oddly enchanting with the way it had stood the test of time. She carefully made her way up the steps, and inside the old looking building. It reminded her of the churches they made for her back before the Calamity befell over her world.
It was hard to continue into the stone structure as the stones on the floor made it pretty hard to walk on, she quickly thought of an idea. She grabbed a stick from the forest surrounding the area, and she put her cloth that she was wearing onto the stick, and wrapped it around the stick to make a makeshift duster. It worked like a charm, and she slowly made her way forward. There were even more steps leading up to what seemed like a stage of some sorts, maybe it was supposed to be a podium? Her thoughts ran around a bit before she noticed a door in a far corner, she made her way to it, and felt it. It had a weird feeling, but the door didn’t look damaged in the slightest like it had just been built.
She gazed at it confused, but she then grabbed the handle and opened it. Inside a small window sat in the back illuminating the small room, showing off a bed, a desk with a chair, and a small closet that was closed. She made her way inside exploring every inch of the room, the desk had nothing in it except for some white sheet of paper, with writing she couldn't read. She then turned and looked at the closest, she walked to it and opened it.
Inside revealed clothes, not just any either. It's what a priest would wear, it was a beautiful robe. It was lined with gold, just like her hair. It was in pristine condition, it had small white buttons as it was a button up robe. The weird thing is that it was the perfect fit for her body, since she was practically naked right now she grabbed in and threw it on. It held onto her comfortably, while it also kept her legs out instead of it dragging and making her stumble. Also in the closest was a staff, it was old looking, and had many gems and jewels that were embedded into the staff at its apex. She guessed the handle was wear the only gold on it laid, at the sticks medium.

She grabbed it and held it high, it felt comfortable in her hands. As if she wielded it before. She smiled, her happiness was overflowing again, but this time she didn’t jump but giggled. As she did she stopped as her eyes widened, she knew what laughter was, but hearing her actually laugh was like listening to a stone make comments on your appearance. It's something that never happens, she put her hand to her throat, and made the noise again. It was weird, but natural. She laughed in happiness as she found she could also make other noises with her mouth too.
As she tinkered with her vocals, she soon realized it was getting dark, she had wandered too far from her tent, but she didn’t mind since she found an actual bed to sleep in, she wandered over to it and sat down. It was comfy, and way better than the ground. Though before she went to sleep she closed the door she entered from and prompted a chair against the handle so nobody could enter.
She had seen people do this before if a door couldn't lock, so she decided to do it herself, though if someone really wanted to enter the door wouldn't stand a chance against an axe or even a few good kicks.
She shook her head as she jumped back in the bed, she cuddled with the sheets until she found a peaceful position, her body then quickly fell asleep.
She sneezed… it was cold, she sniffled at the freezing air. Her eyes opened to darkness, but something felt wrong. She gazed over to the door where she had put the chair, and she noticed that there was no more door, nor was there anything else in the room. Even the bed she laid on had disappeared, and now she was laying on the cold floor instead.
She was rightfully confused, she clearly remembered everything in the room being perfectly intact, but now it was gone. Her mind wandered, running around again like it usually did. Though an answer never came, she was broken out of her confusion when she heard a growl. Her eyes quickly snapped back to the door, and she noticed an injured wolf glaring at her. It had hunger in its eyes, and it's madness reflected back in her.
She started to shake, she was scared of it. She gripped her hands then realized her right hand had a staff in it, even more confusion filled her as she noticed she had on the robes from the closet too. She then shook her head and pointed the staff at the wolf, she was scared and the beast could tell. It slowly made its way forward, and moved to the left slightly to judge her better.
Its hungry growls filled her ears, as the staff shook it was defying her as it betrayed her true feelings. Even though she was the creator of magic, she had no idea on how to actually use it. It had always come to her before, like an instinct. But to her right now she couldn't even force out any type of spell to save her.
This is what she feared the most, dying. She has witness many deaths from humane deaths to straight torture, she was always saddened by them of course, but experiencing them has never crossed her mind. But right now death was creeping closer to her, she gulped and held the staff in her hands awkwardly.
She slowly stood up to give her some room to maybe run if she needed, her eyes narrowed as they watched the wolf for any sudden actions, but just as she did, it attacked. She stumbled slightly at the quick movement, scaring her slightly, she quickly brought up her staff to her face as the wolf had lunged right for her throat. It bit down on the wood, but its teeth couldn't penetrate it.
Her arms were weak so she wasn’t able to keep the wild dog at bay, as it slowly pushed her back. With no good ideas she moved back and quickly moved aside. Since the wolf wasn’t expecting her to move. Its face fell to the floor, it picked itself up quickly and turned its head towards the girl, but before it could see her actions the staff's head soon found its way slamming into the dog's face.
A whimper was heard as the dog backed off, by jumping back. As the hit made it confused for a second or two.
The girl following, not giving the beast a second to comprehend its situation, continued beating its head with the oversized stick, her arms felt like jelly as she slammed the staff down again, again. Soon after, her arms gave out and she dropped the staff and she moved back a bit falling to the floor. She was wide eyed looking at the display in front of her.
The dog's head had been beaten, the sharp gems and jewels on the staff made for an excellent dish for gore and blood. It sickened her to look at it. Its left eye was completely destroyed, and most of the fur of the left side of its head was covered in blood. It wasn't dead, but out cold. She didn’t have enough strength to finish it off. Nor could she kill it anyway, it was her creation, and killing was hard for her to watch without feeling responsible for it.
She quickly grabbed the staff, and moved out of the room. She then made her way out of the church, she didn’t really know what to do, since the tent she stayed out was about an hour or two away, and she didn’t have that much strength to go so far.
So she ended up deciding to find some place up in a tree to sleep the rest of the night away. She hopes nothing will try to eat her again. She also put her staff in a bush just in case the blood on it does not attract anything to her.
It was uncomfortable but she had to make due, and once again she fell asleep. Morning came a lot faster then she realized, by the time she woke up the sun was already at its peak in the sky.
She got down from her tree quickly and went to get her staff, thankfully it was still there. She examined the head of it and saw the dried blood, she grimaced at it and made her way towards the clearing with the old tent. She was starving at this point, since she wasn’t able to eat anything yesterday night, nor anything this morning. She felt practically drained, as she used most of her energy earlier trying to fight off the wolf.
Time moved forwards a bit more, and she was able to collect and gather different berries to eat. She gathered all the non poisonous ones and ate them with glee, as she walked back towards home base. But another problem arose, she didn’t have any water…
Sighing, she looked at the berries she was eating, and put another one in her mouth. The berries were a good source of food, for not having anything, they also provided a small amount of water, but that was the problem. She didn’t have enough berries to subdue her thirst. So she needed to take action and find some before night fell again.
Once she got back to her tent, she picked a direction she hadn't gone in, and made her way forwards. Unlike finding food, water could be a problem. The reason being, is that forests like this have a lot of foliage, and can block the sounds of water pretty easily, and while also block the view of a stream or river bank.
Rubbing her head as she walked, while also listening closely to the sounds of the world she built. The dark of night starts to approach, as dusk takes over for a bit so that the sun could rest. She stops and frowns, she is annoyed. She thought that finding water would be somewhat simple, though tedious. She at least had hoped she could find it within an hour or two, but it seemed hope was not appreciated here.
She turned around to walk away, when she heard it. A low rumbling, it was far. But if she could get there in time she would at least have some water. She didn’t exactly know where it was but she ended up following the sounds. It slowly got louder till she saw a break in the trees, upon reaching it. Her eyes came across a gorgeous sight, it was a waterfall. High and tall it stood, proud of its mighty roar. It filled her with amazement, it also filled her with a feeling she hasn't felt in a long time, the feeling of being at peace.
She stood there for a while taking in the beautiful sight, she then realized she stayed there too long as night was now approaching. She quickly made her way to the water she dipped her toes in to feel the cool temperature, she yelped and quickly took it back. It was freezing, but still drinkable. She crouched down and drank from it with her hands, she greedily drank from it with vigor, she didn’t once stop until she needed air.
With a satisfying gasp she moved out of the water, and quickly made her way home, while also remembering the waterfall. It was a good find, and very helpful to her survival. She didn’t know how long she would be staying here, but she hoped it wasn’t forever.
