The Dual Sanctum Lands,
Yangzhou,
Blood River Cult,
Outer sect...
It was drizzling and a gloomy atmosphere filled the valley.
In one of the rundown huts that filled the outer sect area of the Blood River Sect, a young man of about seventeen years was seated in bed while staring at the side wall blankly.
That was Tang Bai, the latest Transmigrator in the area...
Right now, Tang Bai seemed to be deep in thought.
Over a month ago, he transmigrated to this world and became an outer disciple of the Blood River cult after he was grabbed by slavers precisely after they destroyed his village.
He, a sibling, and a few slaves were sold to Blood River Cult members a week later. He and his younger brother were lucky enough to be one of the few who had cultivation talent, thereby escaping the fate of being a Pill boy, furnace or something nastier.
Unfortunately though, he and his younger brother both had a rather average cultivation talent.
A few days after joining, he was already beaten up once by some other outer sect disciples of the earlier generation, this got the original Tang Bai seriously injured because he protected Tang Chen, covering his younger brother's body with his.
And even after all that, their low-grade spirit stones still got snatched at the time. This incident led to Tang Bai 'the transmigrator', taking over this half-dead body.
Meanwhile, In his previous life, He had just died from some kind of food poisoning while playing a cultivation-themed VRP game that had been running for years.
After the fusion of memories, He understood that the world he transmigrated to was a world of immortal cultivators with an uncanny resemblance to the game world, and this startled him completely.
Nonetheless, his identity was now soaked into demonic cultivation as he had already gotten a Gu in his system, the worst part is that he had no idea what timeline it was at this point and He never heard of the Blood River Cult before while playing either.
Luckily, Tang Chen slowly nursed him back to health and then with the mentality of not wanting to be weak in this kind of world where might give rights, he began to dabble in cultivation but just couldn't get any results for a long time...
Just when he had the idea of taking things as they came, he successfully attracted spiritual energy to feed the heart nourishing Gu within his heart after cultivating hard for a month, and so he broke through to the first level of the Qi gathering realm.
That was when a blood-red translucent panel with several skulls adorning it, lit up in front of his eyes.
He figured out that as a transmigrator, you must get a Golden finger and it appears that his golden finger had finally arrived.

As soon as he was done reading the notification texts, he couldn't help frowning.
'Is everything in text form? It's nothing like the games interface ' such thoughts came up despite his appreciation due to worrying about the panel's quality, he chose to receive the so-called pocket realm that he got as a newbie gift and immediately, he felt a slight heaviness between his eyebrows...
Bang!
A slight explosion seemed to have taken place within his head, it felt like his brain was connected to something and placed in a grinder, making him shake like a leaf with a pale face. shortly after, a strange space of 46–56 square meters appeared in his mind, it's atmosphere was rather bizarre as it appeared in a glitchy manner.
There was an emerald green moon hanging in the sky, pitch-black lanky trees with twisted shapes enclosing the whole space, and a huge circular stone altar was positioned on a black stone tiled platform in the center of the pocket realm. A colored mist drifted through the air, giving the place a spooky feeling, and the unpredictable wailing sounds in the air did nothing but make the place worse.
"Is it possible that this is going to be a situation where all items received will be related to the demon sect? Well, the panel does give off that eerie feeling as well..." He stroked his chin worriedly before sending his consciousness into the pocket realm.
Oumm!
The sound of a temple bell spread through the pocket realm and he immediately understood what this pocket realm was for.
Luckily, he had a month to get used to such an environment before this, if not he might have freaked out in the way he had done on the first day or possibly fainted.
But this, for sure was a place that was perfect for his Soul Capturing Heart Chant which required him to absorb Souls. over the past month, the major problem he had presently was the issue of souls, this slowed down his cultivation to 1-8% and he couldn't even absorb the normal spiritual energy in the air.
Ideally, the siblings went to pick a cultivation technique to Nourish their Gu, and they had done so with naive thought when looking.
They went for what Tang Bai thought was the least gruesome of what was available to him, not knowing that he was simply deceiving himself and would have to take the soul from someone who was on the verge of death, not from someone already dead or even wandering souls, this was because of the high rate of death or madness that comes when you absorb a soul infected by the world due to resentment, there would simply be a lot of impurities.
The Deacon in charge of the Scripture Pavilion had been giving them odd looks at the time but offered no advice, gladly accepting their hard-earned spirit stones gotten from working odd jobs like taking care of spirit beasts, plants and even washing corpses...
With no form of guidance besides his and Tang Chen's meager understanding of the technique, Tang Bai stupidly went to the sect mass graveyard and tried to absorb souls, even if that in itself was flawed... What makes him think anyone would leave wandering souls behind for him to absorb, especially in a demon sect? where almost everyone seemed like the world owed them money.
Lucky for him, this pocket dimension allows him to absorb pure souls with the help of the formation on the centermost altar, as long as you sacrifice enough spirit stones. The time difference between here and the outside world was currently 10 days here and 1 day outside with a cooldown of 7 days.
The result you gain with 1 spirit stone is different from what you get by putting in a hundred spirit stones.
This brought Tang Bai a surprise, although, all the spirit stones he had now rounded up to about 12 spirit stones, and worse, should he leave now, the pocket realm would go on cooldown.
"This stupid panel should have at least explained things!" Tang Bai complained while rolling his eyes.
'No worries though, I would have to make better preparation before the cooldown clears'
He set his sight on the altar before walking over and immediately set 10 spirit stones on the clay bowl hanging in the air mysteriously without the help of anything, this was according to the insight he received as the owner of this space.
Ohm!
The temple bell rang out again and the spirit stones melted into a blood-like substance. the sound of wailing increased significantly as several green skulllike images and wispy smoke began rushing toward his direction.
'I'll have to think about what to tell Chen'er about spending all our money' he muttered lightly with a pale face before focusing on cultivation. As soon as he did, a light green runic whirlpool appeared at the center of his eyebrows, it throbbed ever so lightly and all the floating souls began to mysteriously dive into it giving him goosebumps.
_________
Time flew by like the breeze and his first session in the pocket realm was coming to an end, at this point, Tang Bai was now experimenting.
From the memories he got as the owner of this pocket dimension, he could gather up souls for later use. If he can successfully mold them into something called a soul bead, each could hold about 10 souls inside it.
To make a soul bead, you need to have at least two to three souls, after which, they can be molded with the specified pattern stated into a green glassy bead the size of a pigeon egg.
After Tang Bai was able to cultivate to the fourth level of the Qi gathering realm, he touched what seemed like a bottleneck and had to relax for his sickly body to recover, next was to pick a Natal Gu once he broke into the fifth level.
The Natal Gu would in turn devour the Heart-nourishing Gu and replace it, this in turn would decide your elements and so much more.
So for now, he began going through the memories of this pocket realm and stumbled upon this wonderful function...
There was a lot of trial and error but he soon succeeded in making a low-grade soul bead with a capacity of holding 9 pure souls. Once he was done, he began making a new one with a much higher practice speed, ten minutes later, a new low-grade soul bead appeared once again with a capacity of holding 10 pure souls.
By the tenth day, he acquired a success rate of about 40% and had up to twenty-three low-grade soul beads with a total of 227 pure souls, 'I wonder if this would be enough for the next seven days...this cultivation method better be worth it'
Swoooosh!
Soon there was the now-familiar bell sound, signifying the end of the tenth day, Tang bai felt an almost minute palpitation in his mind and when he opened his eyes, he found that he was back in his room.
