Chapter 5: A new home

The two walked through the barren landscape for days. They found several small lakes, but none of them were big enough for the Minimizer to use. The only other water was from rain and dew. They also found some plants, but mostly they weren't important for their survival. There was a plant that the Minimizer was very fond of. It had a large, flat leaf. She liked the taste of the fruit and it was easy to grow. It grew in the desert, so it was easy to find. 10506935

"We should stop here." She said, "I want to make a well for a garden."

"How are you going to do that?"

"It's easy. I'll dig a hole and then cover it with sand."

"You're not worried about the sun? You're not worried about snakes or spiders or something?"

"I can handle it. Just take care of me."

"Fine. Just remember, if you see a snake, just squish it with your heel."

"Fine. Just give me a few minutes."
