Samron Zuchariah - (DIMENSION: NINETY-SEVEN - LOCATION: HOUSTON, TEXAS):
"WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?!" I yelled at a group of soldiers who were rushing through the hallways.
"The king has ordered the URE to mobilize ma'am," One of them explained as they turned the corner while I followed behind, "One hour ago Darkblades began attacking nations around the world,"
"Do we know where they are?" I queried, "Or where they're going?"
The soldier turned to look at me, and for the first time, I saw his eyes.
"They're everywhere, ma'am, and they're coming here," He said, and with that, he turned and led his squadron away.
His eyes were filled with the terror of someone who'd heard of the stories about Darkblades. Alarms were blaring as the entire block went into lockdown to protect itself from the incoming attacks.
"Goddamn it, WHERE ARE LIEZIRIS AND MIDDLEBROOKS?!" I yelled over my intercom.
* * *
I rushed to the top of the skyscraper with Provisonius and Michael in tow and looked beyond our defenses to see the ocean of Darkblades being held back. The rest of the city was in ruins, with only these few buildings being the last ones standing.
"Oh god," Michael thought aloud.
"He can't help us now," Provisonius muttered.
"Listen up, Jaxon is dividing us into two groups," I explained as I turned around to face them, "You two are coming with me and a few others to intercept Frenzil in San Marcos. The rest will stay back here and keep mining,"
"How? Frenzil is stronger than all three of us, hell, Pop doesn't even have powers." Michael stated.
"Yes I do," Provisonius shot back.
"Being able to make weapons out of scrap doesn't count,"
"You have no respect for your elders,"
"Yes I do, you just don't act like one,"
Provisonius smacked Michael on the head while I went back inside and started heading toward the hangar bay. With any luck, we'd hold Frenzil back long enough for the others to find the shard and retreat.
Christopher Jacobs - (DIMENSION: NINETY-SEVEN - LOCATION: SAN MARCOS, TEXAS):
"ATTENTION: All students and faculty please seek shelter immediately!" The intercom blared as we all looked at each other in confusion.
"Is it a tornado?" Someone asked.
"The sky's clear though," Someone pointed out.
"Everyone get up and just follow the tornado drill please," Mr. Watkins said as he began to open the door.
CRASH!
"ARGHH-" He was able to let out a small yelp before he was propelled backward by an explosion and slammed into a student's desk. His neck made a sickening CRACK as his head snapped back like a ragdoll.
Our screams were loud as glass shattered and the walls fell apart. A darkness crept over us as something massive hovered over us.
"RU-" One kid said before the ceiling collapsed on him, crushing him and pinning one other girl to the ground.
"Sammy!" One of her friends yelled as he and a few others ran to help her.
I started to run to help but was thrown back against the wall by an explosion, the air being knocked out of me as I was slammed against the whiteboard.
My head felt dizzy as I looked up to see fire and debris where my classmates were standing just moments before. I shakily got my legs and felt a sharp pain in my arm.
"GAH!" I let out a scream as I realized that my arm was broken, blood gushing out of the open wounds.
I started limping away to find Max and my friends but heard a SWOOSH from above. I looked up to see hundreds of black figures descending from the object above. I started to limp away faster until I heard my name be called.
"CHRIS!" I saw Nolan yell while he and Beccy helped May, who had a gash across her leg, stand up.
"GUYS!" I answered back and started wobbling them, but then one of the figures came crashing down on Rebecca, leaving nothing but gore behind.
"BECCY!" May yelled, but she was quickly swept aside by the creature and impaled on nearby debris.
"Chris?" Nolan whimpered as he looked at me right before the monster's fist collided with the side of his skull, leaving a stump gushing blood where his head should've been.
"NO!" I called out, making the monster turn to me.
"No," I whimpered as I backed up and tripped, falling on my broken arm, "ARH!"
"Fall, run, don't run, you can fight, run," The monster said in multiple different voices.
It stretched out its clawed hands and placed them on either side of my head.
"We're sorry, no we're not," It said as it began to squeeze.
I closed my eyes as tears rolled down my cheeks, but then I heard something.

SHLICK!
The hands went limp and I opened my eyes as the monster slumped to the side, collapsing onto its side. I looked up to see a large figure with four arms holding what seemed to be some sort of sniper. It was wearing some sort of blue, red, and purple uniform that had a metallic shine. On the chest was a symbol of a sword wrapped in chains with the letters "URE" printed over it. Just as I thought I was next, it walked away, leaving me behind to gather myself back together.

I finally made my way to the front of the school and was met with the horrific sight of cops, parents, and more of the armored beings shooting at those abominations. They seemed to outnumber us by the hundreds, with seven more descending to replace each monster that fell. The armored beings seemed to be on our side, however, as they were guarding the wounded and protecting our people.
I scanned the battlefield and saw three charred corpses hugging each other. I dropped to my knees as I realized that's what Max, Nora, and Randall were wearing when I saw them earlier. I had lost everything I'd ever cared about, and as I saw one of those creatures approaching me, I didn't try running.
It reached me, and just as it was about to slaughter me as well, it began to convulse as blue electricity ran up and around its body.
"BURNS, IT BURNS!" It yelled as it fell to the floor, dead before it even hit the ground.
I looked up to see Alisha standing there, but she was wearing a black suit with a white cloak and orange goggles. Light blue tubes ran throughout what she was wearing, with some coming out of the sleeves and seemingly attaching themselves to her skin.
Behind her stood someone I thought I'd never see again.
"MAX!" I yelped as I tackled him with a hug.
"Chris," He said as he hugged me back, shaking.
"But how? Your body, it's right there," I said, pointing out the corpses behind them.
"That was Jayce, we wore the same clothes today," He explained.
"Oh," I said, my eyes blurry from both the tears and pain.
"You guys need to get somewhere safe," Alisha said as she pulled a mask over her mouth and nose.
"Who are you?" I asked as Max helped me up.
"That doesn't matter, you guys just need to find somewhere to hide," She repeated as she walked away to go aid in the fight.
"YOU TWO, COME WITH ME!" I turned around to see a cop yelling at us as he was herding a group of kids, teachers, and parents to safety.
"COME O-AUGH!" He was cut off as an arm extended through his esophagus, ripping his head off.
A piece of paper fluttered out of his coat pocket and landed at my feet, where I saw that the bloodied paper was a photo of his family.
"Christopher and Maximus, you're coming with me," A woman stated as if it were a command.
A figure a few inches shorter than me stood behind the corpse of the officer. She was wearing a navy blue leather suit with black stripes going down the arms and legs. On either side of the suit looked what appeared to be the faces of a dragon with a diamond embedded into the suit, acting as their eyes. Acting as her shoulder guards were two small dragon skulls, rubies embedded in the eye sockets. On her elbows and knees were metallic human skull designs, and her shoes were black boots caked in mud and blood. The woman was wearing a helmet portraying a blue and white dragon head with red eyes and an open mouth.
"Wha-" Max started to say before being cut off by the woman throwing the head at him.
"OOMPH!" He yelped right as the severed head collided with his chest.
He was thrown on his back because of the speed the head was thrown at and groaned in pain. I turned back to the woman who was now walking towards us, the group of people behind her fleeing in terror.
I grabbed Max's arm with my not-broken arm, helped him up, and we both began to sprint away as fast as we could. The woman effortlessly caught up and grabbed us by the collars of our shirts, pulling us to the ground and slamming us into the concrete.
"WOH!" I gasped as I felt the feeling of the air being sucked out of my lungs again.
"I said c-" The woman began before erupting in flames.
I and Max scrambled away as she turned around as though the flames were just a small nuisance. A boy around our age stood amongst the rubble, his hands appearing to be engulfed in fire which didn't appear to even faze him. He was wearing a black tuxedo with a metallic glint to it.
"DOCTOR FRENZIL, UNDER THE COMMAND OF KING JAXON DRAGONHEART, I HEREBY PLACE YOU UNDER ARREST BY THE AUTHORITY OF THE SHADOW AGENTS!" He yelled as he raised his arms and stretched them out, palms facing us.
"Middlebrooks?" The woman asked, a slight annoyance in her tone, "They sent YOU after me?"
"No, I'm just distracting you," He said as she whipped around to us getting up and sprinting away.
She started to chase after us but was launched back by a wall of magma erupting from the ground. We turned the corner and ducked behind a ruined wall, catching our breaths as we prepared to run all the way home.
"Who are you?" The boy who saved us asked, seemingly materializing out of thin air.
"Who are YOU?" I asked, gasping for air.
"I asked first," He said with an unwavering commitment.
"Chris, this is my brother, Max," I answered, concerned that he might kill us if we didn't answer.
"My name is Michael Middlebrooks, and I'm taking you in for questioning by the authority of the Shadow Agents."
"What?"
"Get up and turn around," He said as he backed up.
"Wait, we're no-" Max stopped mid-sentence as Michael convulsed and fell to the ground, his eyes wide open as he gasped for air.
"Who are you two?" Alisha asked as she towered over Michael.
I looked at Max, and then back to her before answering.
"We don't know,".

Frenzil ??? - (DIMENSION: NINETY-SEVEN - LOCATION: SAN MARCOS, TEXAS):
Pushing flaming debris off myself, I stood up and looked around, trying to see if I could spot Christopher, Maximus, or Michael. With none of them in sight, I began to make my way to the Kraken but was stopped when I heard an old friend's voice.
"FRENZIL!" Samron yelled from a loudspeaker as multiple URE reinforcements arrived to aid their fallen companions, "UNDER DECREE OF KING JAXON DRAGONHEART, YOU ARE UNDER ARREST FOR MASS MURDER AND TREASON AGAINST THE UNITED REALM EMPIRE!"
Sighing, I took a stance as I felt my blood start to freeze. My arms morphed into blades, glinting in the sunlight as the URE began to unload everything they had. I leaped up to around one hundred feet and cut through the first halocraft's shield as though it were butter. I plunged my arm-blades into the pilots and tore out the cockpit, jumping in. With the fighter craft now spiraling down, I made quick work of the soldiers inside as I cut through them and burst from the back of the descending wreckage.
I jumped to another two aircrafts using the momentum, and executed the pilots on both before the remaining seven got smart and backed away to safety. I leaped onto another craft before it could get out of range and steered it into another two, knocking out three birds with one stone. The last four began to retreat, and I saw Samron standing behind Provisonius as he aimed his sniper right at me.
I hopped onto one of the last few halocrafts, hiding behind the cockpit thinking he wouldn't shoot, but was sorely mistaken. He fired straight through one of the pilots, causing his ribcage to splatter all over the lower half of the flight deck's windshield, making the other pilot blind. We veered to the right, causing the right halo-projector to crash into the left side of another halocraft.
Now that the two were locked together, they went down in a fiery blaze, where I could feel the heat even through my armor. I jumped off when we were just fifty feet from the ground and deployed my mechanical wings, flying down safely as the halocrafts crashed into the ground only around ten yards from me. I looked back over the inferno and saw Provisonius and Samron staring, fear apparent on their faces, as I stood tall, completely unharmed.
Once they were gone, I knelt down and stuck a knife filled with Flirst into the ground. Pressing the button on the hilt, I watched as it injected the extension of Eero into the ground. The contest to see who could get the shard first began now, and I got up from where I was sitting and called for my Darkblades, who were feasting on the corpses of the defeated inhabitants of the building we had conquered.
"Get me Blezeren, I have a new job for him," I said as the Darkblades began to build our new base on this planet.
