Chapter 6: The Mortal Realm: The Laws of Energy

Earth, a sanctuary in the vast expanse of the mortal realm, became the new home for Rajendra and Chandika. Earth was a world teeming with life, where mana flowed freely everywhere in the mortal realm. It was present in living and non-living entities, unseen but sensed. It was a realm of boundless possibilities and a wonderland for the couple, now living as mortals.

In the mortal realm, Earth resides. The mortal realm was abundant in mana. Humans, though weak, could store only a small amount of mana and harness it. Mana is first stored and then utilized. However, there are rare talents among humans who can store a large amount of mana. However, just storing mana cannot make a human powerful. A person needs to be able to utilize the mana stored in their body efficiently to truly become powerful.

Mana was prominent in the mortal realm. The forces of life and death that governed heaven and hell were far greater. Life energy, the divine energy of gods, endowed them with their unparalleled strength and immortality. Conversely, death energy, dark and enigmatic, was the source of demonic power. These energies were bound to their respective realms, making the realms themselves unique. Life and death are nothing different; these energies are complicated versions of mana. Life and death are also complicated to use, not like mana, which is easier to store and utilize. But being complicated, these energies provide incomparable effects compared to mana.

A being can be powerful but can only contain life, death, or mana—never all three. These energies cannot coexist in a single body. If anyone using life energy tries to take in death energy, they will explode due to life and death being opposite forces. These forces will collide and fight each other, ultimately resulting in a massive explosion.

The journey between realms is almost impossible. Heaven, hell, and the mortal realm existed as three distinct dimensions. With the aid of the ancient magic of teleportation, it was possible to travel between these realms. All gods and demons could wield this magic effortlessly. However, only a handful of humans in the entire population possessed the rare ability to even attempt such feats. Those humans who acquired the ancient magic of teleportation typically possessed a large mana pool but were unable to use any other magic apart from this one. Though humans may have a large mana pool, the cost of mana to travel between dimensions is far greater than their mana pool can sustain. Due to this, only gods and demons are able to teleport between dimensions, while humans cannot. Furthermore, humans have never seen gods or demons; they merely hold a belief in their existence.

On Earth, mana was the cornerstone of human development. Academies and schools taught the art of harnessing mana—not merely storing it but utilizing it effectively. From magic and swordsmanship to aura manipulation, these disciplines allowed humans to transcend their natural limitations. Though gods and demons viewed humans as lesser beings, often dismissing them as creatures of fleeting desires, they couldn't deny the unique determination and creativity that set humanity apart.

There is a famous belief on Earth that the potential of a human is determined at birth. A child is born with this potential, and it is said that the gods are the ones who bestow it upon humans.
