When the plane of origin formed, seven was the ultimate number
Divinity - The Power of Gods, and demi-gods. The epitome of any ability.
Mana/Arcane - The energy that makes up phenomena, gravity, wind, light. The underlying force of how things work, Not the why.
Holy power - Created through faith, and gifted through divinities, Extremely hard to ascend into a true divinity, most become angels/ archangels
Vitality - The energy of life, elves specialize in this, extends lifespan gives plant manipulation abilities. Most users have natural increase in friendliness of all species
Corruption - The energy bestowed through sacrifice and demonic deals, can become divinity, but is a a corrupted divinity, becomes a demon at peak
Essence - The physical energy of life, warriors use this, not very documented because warriors don’t care
Chakra (placeholder) - The understanding of the world around you, looks at the underlying why of the universe, not the how. Usually ascetics, and there is a difference between knowledge and understanding
World building- Different races good at different things
Humans- General purpose, talents rely on the individual, some subraces
Elves - Naturally have increased vitality, and have their lifespans easily affected by all energies (note vitality is increased in a stratic form by those who practice other forms, but they can’t do much with it) Elves are vulnerable to corruption
3 main subraces -
High elves - Holy elves, more akin to holy magic and mana, with specialty in light magic
Forest Elves - Highest vitality of all races, some mana increase, Qi is usually turned to vitality passively
Dark Elves - Affinities with Dark magic, and qi, these are the only elves that can be corrupted without dying but still have 90% death rate naturally, but in turn experience a large initial power boost
The Fae - A diverse group of creatures with extreme affinity to one form of energy
Angels (technically most don’t consider them fae, but are by definition fae) - are born when a devote human is given a second life after dying for their god, Only remember their faith, aren’t very common. One of the few races someone can change into, due to not reaching the requirements for divinity, and instead becoming an eternal servant of the god they chose
Pixies - Evil creatures that are corrupted at birth, they seem to be a mutation of the faeries, they are born from corrupted blossoms of lifesucking trees, only after the tree has drunk enough blood/lifeforce
Faerie - Creatures blessed with mana but extremely frail and small, their affinity is shown by their hair color, wing color, and outfit. They are born with clothes fully grown which can only be edited not changed. They are usually naive but have an inherent mischievous streak.
Dryads/Drus - Fae that are born when a forest is in harmony, and an ancient tree dies naturally. They are born with an item that changes throughout their life to suit them most made out of the heart and lifewood of their trees. It can be told by highly accomplished druid when one will be born, gender mostly relies on tree species, but isn’t always consistent
Demi-gods - some demi-gods are born, and when they are they are a subset of fae. They are born when faith has no outlet to go, and is suspected to be how the first gods came to be. They are both weak and powerful, because while they have near god level abilities at birth in their respective fields, they are unable to cross their makeup, which is the faith that created them. Most faith has a god to go to, so now they are only the made demigods walking the lands.
Giants - They are a gentle race known for their abilities with qi, and are born when a mountain gains sentience, they prefer solitude wandering the mountains, but are willing to help lost travelers
A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.
Spirits - They are born on a separate plane of existence underneath the spirit lords, and are extremely curious, they are the reason chakra can affect the outside world, because they want to help those who see the world like they do. Some contract themselves to favored chakra users and gain insights from them in their own understanding.
Dwarves - They are natural born artisans and have different clans that deal with the different energies within the enclave, those which are extremely talented in another clans energy will usually marry into the other clan. They all have an enhanced understanding of earth and metal, as well as qi flowing through their bodies to strengthen them along with any other energies.
Demons - They are a race made from corrupted souls that have sinned greatly, and are tainted by evil even after death. They are born from the abyssal pit in the center of the corrupted lands, and fight for survival. Cruel and cunning they are born without the ability to lie as compensation for their transgressions in their last life. Seven sins make up the subraces with a racial trait for each.
Gnomes are a small curious people who seek to understand how things tick, with a knack for using chakra they are true artificers, but only until they are no longer curious.
The Blessed - A race born of the light of a gods smile, they are the only race capable of directly using divinity, but they must have a domain to tie themselves too, in exchange for their limits it is easier for them to cross the barrier into a demigod, once their divinity has reached a certain level. Blessed look like every race except take characteristics from the god that smiled. There are a lot of gods and they aren’t usually stoic so a lot of these are born from certain gods.
Skypiens - They are born in the likeness of angels with golden pupils, they are only born when one has a soul tainted with merit even after death. They have an easier time believing in a god, but they are also more prone to fanaticism than other races. Their wings require support from some energy to fly unlike angels which can fly from birth.
High Humans - The only race that can be directly traced back to their creation, they are born from alchemical experiments to create humans with a higher affinity for mana by infusing gems with mana affinities into them, and succeeded, The gods saw this and decided to create a new race from them in order to balance the energies of the world better, While they did this they took away humanities slight affinity for mana and made them a neutral race when it came to energy in order to better equalize the distribution of energies
Elements. They all have quirky personalities that are fairly consistent with each group.
Light Dark
Water Wood Fire Earth Metal
Advanced elements are made of combinations of these, while concepts such as space and time are locked to those approaching demigods, whit a few exceptions
The high humans - As they are part of the human race although indirectly they still received the backlash from the curse, but the blessing of mana warped it into something that wasn’t quite as harmful - strange personalities
The Sapphire Stoics - these blue haired blue eyed people are known to rarely express any emotion, whose demeanor is as still as an undisturbed lake, but be careful for when they are disturbed they fully demonstrate the violence hidden in the depths. Their eyes and hair are a deep blue, sometimes with flecks of green
The Torrential Topaz - These energetic people are almost all born with hyperactivity, and an affinity for wind, they are known to be distracted easily, yellow orange eyes and hair
The Aimless Amethyst - These whimsical people are one of the most frustrating to deal with because they never really say what they mean, they specialize in lightning magic
Earthly Emerald - These preservative people specialize wood and plant magic, causing them to be vehemently against any damage to nature. Their zeal has often led them to being banned from certain kingdoms, their hair and eyes take after emeralds, a startling green.
Dainty Diamond - These people are known for excessively caring about their appearance, disdaining people who are below a certain level of beauty. They specialize in ice magic, known for creating the most beautiful sculptures from their ice. Their hair colors are all very light from silver to light blue, and even pure white, their eyes following along
Wrathful Ruby - These people are known for a distinct fanaticism with extreme magic and the power that comes with, primarily to look cool. They focus on fire and derivative magic of that. They are the clan known most for branching out, so long as the magic is destructive. It is illegal for a gathering of four or more unrelated people from this clan in some countries due to frequent disasters caused by them. They have red hair and eyes
Apathetic Amber - these people are as strict and unbending as the metal they control, being extremely averse to change. They are the most widely liked member of the high humans due to their rule following nature, causing less “accidents” to occur, their hair and eyes are a deep orange, similar to topaz, but darker.
Fae are able to make contracts, but prefer people who align with their energy affinity, there are always exceptions to racial affinities but are waaaayyyy less likely for fae than any other races, as well as high humans due to the alchemical process in their creation. Variant affinities are much more common among these races as a trade off, due to the excessively high concentration of the element in their blood warping what their original affinity would be. Some affinities like steam are only possible in these races due to the competing nature between fire and water elements, but there are always exceptions.
