Mike slowly became aware of a blue box floating in front of him, or rather, ‘in front’ seemed to be a bit of a misnomer, since he realized that he didn’t have a body, and directions like up or down didn’t really have any meaning in the black… emptiness surrounding him.

As he read the words in the blue screen, feeling of horror overtook him, and if he had a body, he was sure chills and shakes would have been wracking it.
“I’m Dead?! Wha-... Ho-... W-what the heck?” How could he be dead? The last thing he could remember, he was sitting on his couch, watching the latest Livestream from FBE and was thinking about joining the Superfam. ‘Guess that’s not going to happen now…’ he thought to himself.
Finally, after what seemed hours of existential angst, he decided that enough was enough. He would just have to accept what happened and move on. Looking at the list, he considered his options. This seemed to be basically reincarnating, and keeping his memories would be an advantage, especially if he was allowed to relive his life. But what if he reincarnated on Earth but in a different time or place, he’d be himself but his life would be completely different.
On the other hand, reincarnating in a ‘new character’- basically a new life with no memories- he wouldn’t know anything about what was going on. Would that be an advantage or a disadvantage? It wasn’t really a hard decision to make, he resolved. Option 2 was not an option, since he really wanted to keep his memories.
Deciding to take a chance on the specific details of where and when he would actually respawn, he reached out with his mind and selected option 1, then selected option a, since b was not available.
