A very healthy stat screen indeed. Though she was no longer getting multiple stats a level in her main. Maybe because of a level limit or something. Either way, she felt confident, now, heading back home. Getting up, and easing out the tension from her body, she dressed herself in her Bride, and headed out to the deck. A little cutter like this only had a deck and two cabins anyway, so it was easy to find her wife. Gods. Her wife. That really still stuck with her. After everything, she could not get used to saying it. Could not get bored of saying it. Her Wife. Though, that also brought up another thing.

“I need to go to Altdorf sometime. It’s pretty far from Norden, but still needs doing” Estaria would state, stepping up to be next to Filnon as land came into view.

“What’s in Altdorf?” Filnon would ask, snuggling in.

“My girlfriend”

Filnon would pause for a few moments, and then look up at her.

“Elaine, right?” Filnon would ask, to which Estaria nodded. “Mmm. I know she’s got seniority over me. But it will be hard to share you with anyone. So, please don’t hate me for it” Filnon would ask.

“Don’t worry about that. I know you are possessive to begin with, and are still carrying that big rock of what Helebron did to me. So I will make sure to show you all the love and respect you deserve”

Filnon and Estaria spent the next hour snuggling on the deck, before they finally landed at the dock. Back in Empire Lands, her Broken Supply Lines went away. Though, she did gain Religious Suppression. Not surprising, considering she was now blessed by Khaine. Immediately after, she got a new ping that designated her as a walking temple or some such, and thus her religion could not be suppressed, and the debuff vanished. Which, was nice.

What was not nice, however, was that far from the warm welcome she was expecting, the place was empty. And not ‘the road-wardens are coming, scarper’ empty either. This was a popular cove, the Norscans who didn’t just raid for everything came here to trade, as did the Druchii, Pirates, and all manner of sea traders. Exploring the cove revealed that it had been empty for a few months now, and they didn’t simply move coves, as a lot of gear was still around. Rotten wood, rotten food, moth-eaten fabrics, rusted metal, broken carts and makeshift buildings filled the cove, stark evidence of their swift retreat and no return since then. Walking outside some, there were no bodies or signs of battle, which meant they just ditched it.

“Nice place. Remind me to never put you in charge of going out” Filnon would reply, kicking a rat that ran close.

“It’s not meant to be abandoned. It’s an unofficial part of Norden’s economy. Should be booming” Estaria replied, walking up to a nearby barrel. It had rotten through, making the trap-door it was covering visible. So she opened it up, and revealed a chest, still locked. That quickly got ripped off, and a whole mass of gold was on show.

“Didn’t even take their money. Smugglers live for their money, it’s their whole thing. Come on” Estaria would jerk her head outwards, and take off at a run, heading over to the main road. The, empty, main road.

“Ok, this is not right. This is the Great North Road. It goes hundreds of miles down the country to Marienburg. It’s never empty. Merchants, Road Wardens, Eonir, Repairmen, Soldiers, Mercenaries” Estaria would begin to start panicking a bit, but Filnon picked up on a small bit.

“Eonir? The Wood Elves? They actually use this road?” She’d ask. Half curious, half trying to keep Es from spiralling.

“Yea. They are a lot more sociable than their kin in Bretonnia. Even has a representative in the Count Todbringer’s court”

Estaria would then look around for a bit while Filnon stood impressed, and flit over to a thicket in the distance, climbing the tallest tree with a rapid grace, and looking out at the surroundings. Far out, a good three miles away, she could see the signs of battle. Her eyesight was as supernatural as her body, but even that was too far to make anything out. Still, it was something and so she leapt off the tree, sending a message to Filnon to follow her.

Damned stupid idea, since she had to quickly scramble to put her hands up and protect herself from the whipping branches she flew past. And then the landing. It shuddered her entire body even as she rolled from the impact. Her legs were crying, but fortunately not broken. It was fine, she’d regenerate once she got in a fight.

“Dumbass” Filnon teased, helping Estaria to her feet. She was covered in tiny nicks and cuts, but didn’t look too worse for wear.

“Heh…yea. Shush. Let’s go” Estaria replied, sprinting off into the direction of the battle. They made good time, and Es burst the skull of one of them by tackling him to the ground. Flipping off him, she’d pull her Talon out and stick a round in the head of a Marauder who was about to cut a woman’s head off. Reloading with a flourish, she brained a guy running up behind her, and then put the Talon away and got down to business. She put her summons to use again spawning them all, and sending them off to help clear out.

Weaving through the village, she managed to get quite the sight. Someone in patchwork armour was fighting a huge Chaos Warrior. Of no real fame, as the simple armour and weapon showed, but still beyond any normal person. And yet, this person was not simple, as they were moving like lightning, and striking like thunder, clearly supernatural in their skill and power. It was an enthralling thing to see, and Estaria got engrossed in it. The patchwork’s grace and skill matching the Warrior’s endurance and savagery. Eventually, however, the Warrior missed a step, and had his helmet smashed off for his troubles. Rolling from the blow, his head was cut from his neck with a single swing.

“Bravo” Estaria would reply, giving a soft clap. The warrior would look up at Estaria, and it was then, looking her dead in the eyes, she finally noticed the light yellow nametag.
