Alan entered the busy skill shop followed by Nims and the other three rookies.
He burst their bubble of hope when he rejected them to join him. But if his simple guidance could help them survive, Alan was willing to help.
The interior of the building greatly resembled the stores Alan visited prior with Nims. The walls and floor were of old but robust wood, and the interior was decorated with antique furniture.
The only objects which were hard to blend in this room were panels arranged for players to access the shop.
Ignoring the trio flabbergasted by the interior of the skill shop, Alan approached one of the free panels. And as soon as he activated it, a list of skills available for players to purchase was displayed, sorted by their rarity.

These were the skills available for the players from the first port city. Some were very useful, but a few only shined in specific situations.
Although players can upgrade the skill anytime using their personal Game Link. They still needed to fulfill the prerequisite of owning the basic version of the skill to perform the upgrade procedure.
There were also many who preferred saving points by hoping to get the skill free by performing the prerequisite acts continually during the game, just like how Alan got his Dagger and Medical treatment skill.
Right now, facing the three enthusiastic rookies, Alan teaching sides that have been in laying the backseat started to emerge.
"My first advice, buy the basic skill that you need, don't wait for an imaginary date that it 'might' show up."
A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.
Hearing this, Smiley turned pale, remembering how he was being stabbed multiple times; however, he didn't dare to correct Alan.
"Second, better try to master one than learning too many skills. Mr. Jack of all trades is a luxury that can get you killed in this game"
"Third, keep in mind that most skills will work better if you know the actual skill in real life."
Alan gazed at the three enthusiastic individuals bobbing their heads in unison at his every word and continued.
"You 'need' at least one fighting skill; if you have no prior experience with any kind of weapon, just go for the [Sword Weapon] and [Medium Firearm]; both are the easier to master and most versatile of the lot."
Afterward, all three shared their stats and skills they have
[Laura, Female, 20 years]
[Level 8] [Medicinal treatment] [Acrobatic]
Being a medical student, Laura already has the [medicinal treatment] skill. However, her experienced skill as a dancer made her stats lean more toward Agility.
Alan recommended Laura to select a weapon that would bring out the best potential of this attribute of hers. With Alan's guidance, it didn't take much time before she selected an agility-oriented weapon skill- [Dagger].
Next, the girl purchases [Science] skill with a teasing smile thrown at Alan and states.
"I am following a certain amazing person."
[Luiss, Male, 23 years]
[Level 8] [Cooking] [Pilot]
[Smiley, Male, 22 years]
[Level 7] [Dagger weapon] [Stealing]
"Haha, you really a crook, aren't you!" Said Luiss seeing Smiley's [Stealing] ability
"Huh! At least my ability is useful here! Better than you... Cooking and Pilot... What are you?.. A Taco delivery man?"
"What is wrong with Taco? Who doesn't love Tacos!!"
Hearing the mention of Pilot skill, Alan decided to butt in on the two bickering men and said, "Actually, Pilot is a handy skill to have; if you got any extra points to spare, upgrade it to advance or even expert.
The word made Luiss very happy "Yes of course Mister Alan, I will definitely buy it”
Alan was silent for a second and then said “If you have the points you should buy the job class [Knight] or [Rouge] as both gave extra attributes and skills that would increase survivability”
Alan reminded them that the most important thing was still to survive the game.
“If you have much extra then you can spend on active skills”
Alan then accessed the panel toward a different section and showed [Active skill]
[Active skill]
Unlike passive skills, the active skills were sold in scrolls, like purchasing an item.
Although the ceiling limit of such active skills available to players was set to superior rank, there were still given access to the dozens of skills available.
