4th Squad is assigned to a dormitory beside the barracks in the military compound. Each squad has its own room, which means they will live together during training. The squad's members put their belongings inside before following Sergeant Donovan to get their uniforms. They were alone since the other squad had already gotten their uniforms while the 4th squad was busy with their sergeant's antics. After some measuring and filling out official paperwork, which was quite uneventful, Sergeant Donovan led them to the military hospital.
"Wait here, I will get a healer for you guys," the Sergeant said before leaving the squad alone.
Arthur was sore all over and could not wait to get treated. "Can't they give me painkillers while we are waiting? I'm in so much pain here," he cried inside.
After the adrenaline and rush of battle ran out, the pain was unbearable. Arthur even thought it would be better to be unconscious than being awake. Of course, that was only because he was in a safe location. If there was danger all around, he would rather be conscious and in pain than sleeping while waiting for his demise.
"Arthur, you did great fighting the Sergeant! Even if it shocked me to know that your personality is this vicious, I still respect you for playing with the Sergeant like that! Even I'm not courageous enough to talk like that!" Simon patted Arthur's shoulder, causing him to squirm in pain.
"I did not mean what I said!" Arthur hurriedly tried to explain. "I was just trying to provoke her to create some opening, since I'm afraid that I would not have a chance to lose and get my head beheaded instead if I don't fight back!"
"Is that so? Hahaha. Still, you've got guts of steel to provoke her like that!" Simon laughed heartily.
"Did everyone hear that? Arthur is not a bad guy, just a bit foolish!" he told the others.
*Squeak!* Rat agreed with him.
"Hey! I did not have time to really think it through, you know! It was either do or die on my part! Well, I ended up regretting it when she turned out even stronger while angry! She even beat me without looking!" Arthur tried to defend himself.
"By the way... now that I think about it, didn't Arthur win that fight since he survived until Sergeant Hawkins was no longer suppressing her realm?" Tamara chimed in.
"That's right! You won that one, Arthur." Simon agreed, followed by Stevan and even Kale.

"Tsk, with so many handicaps, even I can win against her," Aroon snorted.
"Well, I would disagree on that. Sergeant Layla only lost because of some special circumstances. The stars just lined up in Arthur's favor. If anyone else fought her, then she would not have missed so many chances to win," Tamara countered, which caused Aroon to glare at her.
"Anyway, you are so lucky, Arthur, to be able to wrestle and touch such a beautiful woman. You even bit her on her... you know..." Simon make a squeezing gestured in front of his chest a few times while wiggling his eyebrows, trying to change the subject and prevent Aroon and Tamara from arguing.
"I'd rather not touch any woman if I need to fight to the death while doing it! Can anyone back me up here?" Arthur looked around for anyone who would take his side.
Tamara crossed her arms in front of her chest, hiding it from Arthur while inching away from him. "Don't get closer! No biting!" she said.
Even the silent Athena took a step back from Arthur, which caused him to bite his lips in frustration while the others laughed at him.
"By the way, if you win, then are you inviting Sergeant Layla to your chamber tonight?" Stevan suddenly said, which caused the room to turn silent.
"We are sharing our dorm room, you know. Does that mean he will invite her to our room? If that's so, can we watch, Arthur?" Simon asked excitedly, which earned him a knock behind the head from Tamara.
"No, I'm not inviting her anywhere! I was just provoking her! Do you hate me so much you want me to seek death?" Arthur retorted in frustration.
"Oh, come on, she is quite beautiful when she is not angry or being scary. I also heard she is only 24, one of the youngest sergeants, they said!" Simon grinned.
"Can you tell me when she was not angry or trying to kill me?" Arthur pointed out.
"She is scary..." Kale agreed with him.
"Now that you say it, I think it's better to not get on her bad side," Simon ended up agreeing as well.
It did not take long after that Sergeant Donovan returned with a doctor. The Sergeant was respectful toward the doctor, and even Arthur knew why. To be an effective healer, his cultivation needed to be high enough to have healing abilities that could be extended beyond oneself! Even Amplification realm animal cultivators can't heal others yet.
The doctor healed everyone else's wounds within seconds as they only had a few bruises from their duel. On the other hand, he handed Arthur a few pills which he ate before the doctor used his martial technique to envelope Arthur in a warm glow.
"Ah... that hits the spot," he thought as his pain receded, and he could see his cuts and bruises visibly healing.
In the end, Arthur still had a few bruises, but nothing he could not heal within a few days.
"This should be enough for you to continue your training tomorrow. Too much healing will deplete your vitality, so it's better to let your body heal on its own when it can," the doctor said.
Arthur immediately changed into his uniform after he got healed as his clothes were soaked in his own blood and had cuts all over. If before it looked like rags, then now it barely qualified as clothes!
Arthur was going to get dinner with his squad at the barracks when he was stopped by a familiar figure.
"Sergeant!" the 4th squad greeted their Sergeant.
"Private Arthur, follow me. There is something we need to talk about," Layla said with a poker face.
Arthur groaned internally, while his fellow recruits gave him looks. Simon even wiggled his eyebrows with a cheeky grin on his face.
