First Arc: Thesis Est Pavillion Part Two

A week later.

Inside a barely lit room, a sigh can be heard. A tall, built young man can be seen loosening his tie and changing out of his shirt.

"Finally home!" he complained. "It wasn't even that long but it felt like an eternity. Good thing the god-kin showed up at the end or else we would be there forever."

When the old man known as the god-kin, or the most powerful man in this world, had shown up at the battlegrounds of the seven armies they had been fighting for several months straight non-stop. To the average man of other realities this may be an impossible thing to occur but to this world stamina is just one of the things that they have no limits to.

This young man's name is Thesis. In the battle that occured up to the god-kin's intervention, he was just one of many that were a part of the battlefield. He belonged to the Sendibar Nation and as one of the Pavillions he was required to join in nearly every campaign as a role model. His father himself was on the frontlines as a commander. It can be guessed how well trained his father was for lasting such a long time at the front without losing his life.

After the god-kin said his piece, the seven armies began their march to their respective nations and prepared for the "Grail war" to come. Upon arriving home, Thesis first thought was of a bath and a nice long rest but reality said otherwise.

At the same time Thesis was at home, his father was in a meeting with the Serpent. In the Sendibar Nation, their leading military commander would have the title of Serpent so this meeting will have to do with the Grail War. In between the two leaders was a large desk with piles of see-through papers lying around. All of which pertaining to a different story, with wargames like the 'Holy Grail War' being involved.

The narrative has been illicitly obtained; should you discover it on Amazon, report the violation.

"According to the information my assistants found," the Serpent explained. "Battles like these will not be occuring just once. It will be a long drawn out process that happens in a location, most likely of the god-kin's making. It can take anywhere from a few days to several months. As such, firepower isn't the most important factor in deciding who will be our representative.

"The first thing to be concerned with is survivability. The pick has to be tenacious, stubborn, and smart. A hothead won't do or else they'll be eliminated early. Scouting ability is a must, to avoid traps and provide shelter. Other nations will probably also pick survivability so the pick must also be capable of eliminating enemies given the chance.

"We also need to be concerned with compatibility between servant and master. It has been said in the files I recieved that some teams in similar grail wars have disbanded or lost due to the servant and master clashing with each other. So not only we need people skills but also someone young enough to cooperate. This is a bother." The Serpent sighed.

Mr. Pavillion gave his input, "That is why I say Thesis should be our representative. He is young, has experience, and is a capable member of the Pavillion household. We have served our nation dutifully over it's long reign so I know he will do us proud."

"Can you be sure of that?" the Serpent countered. "Knowing the god-kin, he will incorporate his own version of the holy grail with it's own 'wish'. If the 'wish' lands in the hands of the winner, then he can do whatever he wishes with it. So not only do we have to worry about what the other nations will do if they win, we have to worry about what your son would do with it if he wins."

"As his father, I know what's best for him so he would not challenge me on what is right for the nation!" Mr. Pavillion roared in outrage.

The two came to a standstill with silence filling the air. This lasted for several moments before they both exhaled and sat down. The Serpent sighed and rubbed the bridge of his nose. "Fine. I agree. Inform young Thesis of his assignment." Mr. Pavillion got up and gave a 1, 2, 3, finger salute before punding his chest and leaving the room.
