Dragons.
The ultimate beings. It is said that unless they are killed, they can live for millennia. Their wisdom is superior to the greatest of human scholars. Their scales are ten times stronger than the strongest alloy and cannot be even scratched, much less destroyed, without the strength of a demi-god. They are simply un-killable.
Their attacks are no less frightening. Their claws are five feet long and sharper than any mortal weapon. The two wings, when swung, are basically guillotines that would chop right through you. The dragon’s tail is nothing to laugh at either, as it is so quick that most would not be able to dodge it and it could easily pulverize a victim.
Standing at forty feet on average and with a length of ninety feet, they are majestic beings with tyrannical strength. With the power to causes even the Gods to shudder, they were considered invincible beings.
The thing that gave dragons the strength to fight the Gods was magic. Each dragon race specialized in one type of magic.
They were divided into:
The golden dragons who specialized in light magic.
The black dragons who specialized in darkness magic.
The red dragon with their fire magic.
The white dragons with wind magic.
The green dragons with earth magic.
The silver dragons that reigns over metal magic.
The yellow dragons with their lightning magic.
The crystal dragons and ice magic.
Finally, the azure dragons with their water magic.
These nine dragon races split into different clans and ruled over themselves, with the leader of each clan being given the title “Dragon Lord”. At first, the eight clans lived in harmony with each other and there was peaceful agreement. Peace, however, never lasts and after a few centuries bloodshed began to occur.
As the historians tell it, when the world was still in its infancy, dragons used to be as numerous as birds in the sky. With their god-like strength, they ruled over all creation. As time went on though, the dragons began to have internal conflicts and would constantly wage warfare between each other.
With their already low birth rate, the population became decimated to the point where the Dragon Lords convened in a meeting and passed a decree that fighting between dragons were forbidden and to not interfere with worldly matters with the other races. With that, the dragons disappeared.

For the past thousands years, the dragon’s presence has all but disappeared from our world. There are occasional rogue dragons who leave their clans and come out to the world, but those are extremely rare cases.
When the other races noticed that the dragons had disappeared, they began to vie for the title of superior race. Elves, Fairies, Dwarves, Demi-Humans, Vampires, Orcs, Demons, and Humans, all fought each other in warfare for thousands of years. Except for short respites, each race fought each other to reign supreme.
After fighting for thousands of years, all the races were exhausted. On one fateful day, the leaders for all the races convened and agreed on a treaty to stop the fighting. One of the terms of the treaty split the continents between each other in order to stop the territorial battles. The Vampires, Orcs, and Demons moved to the three barren northern continents. The Vampires claimed the Baam continent while the Demons settled in the Infernal continent and the Orcs colonized the Thrall continent.
The Elves and Fairies, being the races with the smallest populations and having a friendly relationship, both settled in the western continent of Yggdrasil that was filled with forests. The Demi-Humans settled for the jungles of the eastern continent of Chaos. The Dwarves settled for the mountainous central continent of Valhalla while the humans took over the plains of the Freya continent.
The Eight Race Treaty. That is what it is officially called now. Ever since then, it has been relatively peaceful. There have been skirmishes between the races, but most of the fighting has been between kingdoms on the continents. What the races didn’t know, however, was that these past thousands of years was just the calm before the storm, for a storm which has never before been seen before was about to come crashing down on not only the world but also the heavens.
And I would shortly find myself way in over my head, as fate would have it, in the middle of the wars on heaven and earth.
